Obviously need a run of good games. Hopefully, the schedule will be kind to you.

I don't think this will be our season somehow. Too much inconsistency has left us too much work to do this late in the season.

A really tight battle against The Rocks eventually ends in a disappointing draw.

We took a first half lead against the run of play, and just when it looked like we might be able to hang on for the win, the visitors hit back in the shadows of full time.

MAR 2028 - Youth Intake

The class of 28 arrives, and after I gave up on the previews, which was confusing to say the least, the players that have arrived are quite exciting, and show rewards for the improvements we are making.

YouthIntake1.png.cd6072bc3a17191c167b5035b1bf99fa.png

The star review shows players with massive potential, and a couple that are nearly ready for first team straight off the bat.

YouthIntake2.png.d9d737a6a3d8b8a44ffe6f09b9e4d6ac.png

There are some exciting attribute numbers here, including our first ever 50 point player out of the Academy.

While Alexandrou looks to have impressive numbers, there is minimal room for improvement, so it may not be as exciting as first showing.

YouthIntake5.png.084add5d350c9c91222c1227d04294b8.png

We welcome our first players from Sierra Leone, Australia, Czech Republic, and Cyprus.

The Top 5

Spoiler

YouthIntake6.thumb.png.3403e065311ada9dde12860b66e59b79.png

An exciting midfielder, with massive potential. This kid has potential to be a superstar of the future, and a possible future Captain as well.

YouthIntake7.thumb.png.7c5d9c30cc968e3ef5c9c79d7c553917.png

An exciting keeper with massive potential, and massive height as well. If we can get this kid to his potential, he is a likely challenger to Sejdini in future.

YouthIntake8.thumb.png.6a85b048ad31e6d99e649e895875e41b.png

An exciting forward prospect, with good pace, and if we can get some of those technical numbers up, he will be a potential first team player in time.

YouthIntake9.thumb.png.f5041c4a4895236176e4a1ac3d8d41c3.png

An exciting defender, with high potential, his attributes are not that high, but if we can get them up, he has a good shot at getting in the rotation.

YouthIntake10.thumb.png.2fd8cec35b49cf783962a2880efb1ca6.png

Another potentially exciting midfielder, who will be a work in progress, but he could make a good push in time.

So after promising very little, this intake delivers some exciting prospects with massive potential.

The work we are putting into the youth system might be finally starting to show.

I would not be surprised at all if Alexandrou turns out to be the best of the lot. I remember with the Bulls I had the 7th best player of my intake with high current ability go on to be a £10 million striker. What's his personality like?

Definitely some promising youngsters with loads of potential.

Some players with the highest potential we have produced from our Academy, so if they reach their potential, very exciting times ahead.

Determination and Composure 12, Teamwork 10, most of the others in the 7-9 range, not too bad for a 16 year old. Will be interesting to see if we can get much improvement out of him.

If he isn't 'unambitious' or 'low determination' as his personality, and is something decent, I'd bet on him turning out alright!

Light-hearted.

His numbers might make him a decent player at this level, I just have the feeling his ceiling might be reached pretty quickly if we progress through the Leagues.

We were always up against it against The Whites, and while we frustrated them for much of the game, they eventually ran over the top of us.

They were just simply a much better team than us, so that we kept them out for so long, was encouraging.

Well beaten in the end, but not embarrassed, which to me is showing signs we are headed in the right direction, even in loss.

The Scholars have been struggling this season, but we put in one of our most complete performances of the season to run riot at home.

Two goal in each half, and a clean sheet, combine for a very impressive performance, and a vital three points.

MD403.png.b0581905097ecdbf380ec3b366875b06.png

A short turn around resulted in some rotation, and Class of 28 midfielder, Alexandrou found his way onto the bench, and eventually onto the field.

He was very impressive, and even collected an assist on debut.

A massive upset as we come from behind to upset Rochdale, to book a place in the big dance and head to Wembley for the first time.

The visitors scored an early goal, but then seemed to take their foot off the gas, allowing us to work our way back into the match, taking a 2-1 lead at the break.

The second half turned into a real midfield slogfest, with very little in the way of chances being created by either team.

We managed to hang on for a well deserved, if unexpected win, sending us through to the final at the third attempt.

I can't complete a save with them and in every thread I follow someone else is knocking them out of tournaments.  And most likely they're going to end up in 2nd place irl and have a playoff fight to gain promotion.  Poor Notts.

That was one hell of a game. It really could have went either way, and we just got lucky in the shoot out.

We left it late to hit top gear, but we secure the three points, and in doing so, resign a second team in a row to relegation.

It was a pretty dour game in the first half as neither team got much happening, but two goals in 10 minutes was enough to take the win.

It's been strange, last season we started well, then fell in a hole, before finishing off the season strongly. This season we were just inconsistent all the way through, before finishing strongly again.

The Trophy Final should be an amazing experience for these kids. Hope they just have fun and enjoy the experience, and are not too intimidated by their first trip to Wembley.

A heart breaker at Wembley, as we put up a massive fight against the National League Champions, to go down in a shoot out.

We scored early, but had to come from behind twice, and a brave effort to take it to penalties.

We went shot for shot in the shoot out, but unfortunately we blinked first as Kirkpatrick missed to hand the title and another trophy to The Pools.

While disappointed with the loss, we were expected to be thrashed, so to have made such a game of it, well we can't be disappointed with that.

MAY 2025

MAYScheduleComplete.png.812039c00ae3971b01beb8f7a9d91933.png

With the regular season done and dusted, we threw in some friendlies to keep the squad match fit as there was three weeks between competitive matches.

A brilliant performance to make the Trophy final, and we pushed the heavily favoured National League Champions all the way, before falling in penalties.

MAYTable.thumb.png.64a3ee0120444308782193668858a316.png

Yeovil ran away with the title, but you have to feel for Havant & W, after leading the League for most of the season, only to be over run, they score over 100 points and didn't get promoted.

In fact, they didn't even make the final, with Eastbourne defeating Maidstone in the play off final to win promotion the the National League.

2027-2028 Season Review - Attributes

It's that time of year where we get to review how the attribute averages, and see how they have improved, or not, over the season.

Goalkeepers

GK.png.de1267cc4e8d0c7b278cc8793132ba2d.png

Sejdini continues to improve, and Jones, while still improving, has fallen further down the order.

Defenders

DF.png.be5d3ed2f5d956c327e265f3e51720b8.png

A mixed bag among the defenders, with small improvements among the main starters.

Midfielders

MF.png.6a8ce0ac05a09a4d638d637d210b8ece.png

Another mixed bag of minor improvements and losses among the central players.

We do have some solid options among our regular starters.

Forwards

FW.png.ba0a16919c2f0b3de1f945b584414b11.png

Kirkpartick becomes another 50 point player on our list, while Pepe has shown massive improvements.

Best XI

BestXI1.png.55b90712837e92d786919ce2472dec0c.png

Sejdini has become the best player at the club, while we now have four 50 point players, and our average rating has crossed the 45 point mark.

Our average age has also gone above 19.

BestXI2.png.47361d3ea482c2308a3674720be4c3dc.pngBestXI3.png.db5e008d5b12cdd3b4aec44f2911e449.png

This season has shown a real mixed bag among the players, and while I think it is too early to tell what effect the U21s team has had, it at the very least gives the fringe players, and those too old for U18s, somewhere to get a game.

Interestingly, I don't see much benefit at this stage from players who have been on loan either, so I may review that after another season.

All in all, happy with the squad, and it's development though, there is enough improvement to show we are headed int he right direction at least.

JUNSeasonPreview1.png.9e633e66cdfca6dc23097a5a15cc63bd.png

Despite two seasons just missing the play offs, the Board are only hoping to avoid relegation again. I thought Mark might have gotten a little more ambitious.

He is not even interested in the Cup/Trophy, despite deep runs last season.

Just run the "out of the box" Gegenpress with a 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1 Wide, or 4-2-4 and you will have success.....

I stopped my chronicling of it in lower leagues, but I am currently in the VNL in the playoff places with a team preseason 17th after making Playoffs season before with similar team. (Boreham Wood)
