Remembering that it is 336 klm / 209 miles just to get from the from the island of Guernsey to the Portsmouth Ferry Terminal. We are going to rack up some serious travel miles in our away games this season, not to mention we still need to add in any away Cup games. Not sure the game calculates the amount of travel into fatigue, but this would create another serious issue to be managed this season. In the database both Jersey and Guernsey are considered to be in England and in the South East I think if I recall correctly. I may be wrong but it often means you don't travel for as long as you should - in reality you'd be traveling for a day or two for most trips wouldn't you and therefore have little to no training.
Punch
AUG 2029 - Match Day 3 - At Mansfield Town FC One Call Stadium - Mansfield Spoiler Match Report Spoiler A tale of two halves as the Stags dominated the first half, but we managed to limit the damage to a single goal by the break. In the second half, we turned the tide, and played the much better football, managing to level the score, and probably unlucky not to take the lead. The hosts had a few late chances, but we managed to hang on to secure another point. Table Spoiler We gain another point, but we fall into the relegation zone. Up next Spoiler A massive challenge as we host the 5th place Magpies. While this is our first League meeting, we have met twice before in the FA Trophy, with a win on penalties each. I guess it would depend on how the team traveled. If you went by ferry to the mainland, it takes between 3 and 12 hours, and you would then have to do that again on the way back. Then you would still need to switch to coach/train/plane, or which ever transport method to get to the mainland destination. There are regular flights from Guernsey, mostly to London, at which point you'd still need to change planes, or transport methods to the required destination. We could always find a sponsorship option to charter flights to a more direct location. Both of these last two options would rattle up the transport costs pretty quickly. While in game, it doesn't affect training, it no doubt would in reality.
Punch
AUG 2029 We started the month with a win in our final friendly, before a tough month to start the season in the higher League. To be fair though, if we had been offered two points at the start of the month, I would probably have jumped at it. We conceded too many goals, but otherwise we are currently holding our own. Two points has us in the relegation zone, but we are still there and abouts, and not far from the play off zone either. Stats Goalkeepers Defenders Midfielders Forwards Just the one home game and we take a big hit to the finances, but a big crowd brought in some pretty good money at the one game we did host. I had to negotiate pretty hard to get this one, but I finally got an upgrade. I will try shortly for the Youth Coaching upgrade as well. A busy month coming up, and we have some pretty tough games ahead.
Punch
SEP 2029 - Match Day 4 - Vs Notts County FC Footes Lane - St Peter Port, Guernsey Spoiler Match Report Spoiler Not a game of high quality, but we held our own against a much bigger club. Very few chances were created, but The Magpies took the one when it mattered to secure the points. Table Spoiler The loss drops us to 23rd place, but one more win would have us mid table, so it's not panic stations yet. Up next Spoiler We travel to 18th place Radcliffe. This will be our first meeting against The Boro.
Punch
SEP 2029 - Match Day 5 - At Radcliffe FC Stainton Park - Radcliffe Spoiler Match Report Spoiler After our last game produced almost nothing, this game had a bit of everything. Our first National League win, first hat-trick, which became a four bagger, and first saved penalty. A great performance in both attack and defence. Table Spoiler Our first win climbs us out of the relegation zone to 17th, and the big win helps our goal difference. Up next Spoiler We host 19th place Stanley, who have taken a massive double drop from League One over the last 5 seasons.

But a burst from the bench resulted in two goals in two minutes as we came from the clouds to secure another valuable point. Table Spoiler We lose a place, but keep the points ticking along. That might be our aim this season, just keep accumulating, and hope to stay out of that red zone. Up next Spoiler We travel to Dorking, in a tough match up as we face The Wanderers for the first time.
Sonic Youth
That was an amazing end to last season, finishing with 100 points, a league title and promotion Dover showed that they drew too much in the run in but unlucky to come up against yourself and D&G. Reasonable start to this season too Thank you! That was one of our biggest improvements, finding a way to turn the draws from previous seasons, into wins last season. We are up against some very tough clubs this season, and it showed early that you can be very quickly punished for mistakes. This will be a season of point accumulation, learning, and hoping we do enough to stay up.
Punch
SEP 2029 - Match Day 7 - At Dorking Wanderers FC Dorking Stadium - Dorking Spoiler Match Report Spoiler Defensive lapses lead to us being punished early, and often. We barely seen any of the ball in the first half, and found ourselves down 0-3 late in the second. We came to life in the final 10 minutes, and/or The Wanderers switched off a little, as two late goals made the final few minutes a bit tense, but we were unable to rescue a point. These kids still have so much to learn. Table Spoiler The loss sees us fall to 20th, with three clubs in the relegation zone snapping at our heels. Up next Spoiler We host 13th place Oldham next, who were promoted from the National North last season. We have two previous meetings in the FA Trophy, with us coming out on top on both occasions. In this save, Scunthorpe were in League Two in 2021-2022, but suffered back to back relegations to the National North, spent three years there, before being promoted twice in three years, finding themselves back in League Two.
Punch
SEP 2029 - Match Day 8 - Vs Oldham Athletic AFC Footes Lane - St Peter Port, Guernsey Spoiler Match Report Spoiler A dominant performance as we secure our first home win of the season over The Latics. It took us a while to turn the dominance into a lead, but once we got in front, we held on before putting the icing on the cake late. Table Spoiler The win jumps us up to 13th place, but we are still only 1 point out of the relegation zone. Sonic Youth
Good win and needed! Tough league, with no team but last placed Stevenage in a GD of double figures (negative in their case). D&G are doing ok too since also being promoted. Fix that GA and you’d have a great crack at playoffs (being conservative), with having the best attack in the league.
Punch
SEP 2029 - Match Day 9 - At Crewe Alexandra FC Mornflake Stadium - Crewe Spoiler Match Report Spoiler Completely outplayed by Crewe, who dominated pretty much every aspect of the game. We did put some pressure on them late, but only because they had begun to switch off, and not enough to cause any concern. Table Spoiler We are barely staying afloat, out of the relegation zone on goal difference. Up next Spoiler The tough matches keep coming as we host 15th place Wycombe. We have met The Chairboys once previously in a friendly, where they took a comfortable win.
Hootieleece
As long as you have as many points as matches played or more you should be ok. We are quickly learning that defensive lapses get punished pretty harshly, and our defence won us the title last season, which is strange to say when we scored 103 goals But these are only kids, and they are still learning every day, so hopefully we can scrape together enough to survive this season, because we have some exciting kids coming up that could keeps us improving in the next few seasons.
Punch
SEP 2029 A mixed bag this month, getting our first win in the National League. We managed two wins, a draw and three losses for the month. We are conceding more goals than the League average, but otherwise the Analyst is pretty happy with our performances so far. We find ourselves in 19th place, out of the relegation zone only on goal difference. Stats Goalkeepers Defenders Midfielders Forwards A solid hit to the finances again this month. Punch
OCT 2029 - Match Day 10 - Vs Wycombe Wanderers FC Footes Lane - St Peter Port, Guernsey Spoiler Match Report Spoiler A match that won't live long in the memory banks in terms of an attacking masterclass from either team. But there was an important milestone reached in this match, as we kept our first ever clean sheet in the National League. Securing an important point was a nice result as well. Table Spoiler The draw gains us two places, but we are still only out of the relegation zone on goal difference. Up next Spoiler We head to Stoke-on-Trent to take on the struggling Port Vale. A goal each before the break left the game in the balance, but we did tighten up the defence in the second half to hold the hosts at bay. We held off their early pressure to grow into the game either side of half time, taking a 1-0 lead to the break. The hosts piled on the pressure late in the second half, where we managed to catch them on the counter, scoring a second goal. That became important as we gave away a clumsy penalty in injury time which was converted, but we hung on for the win. The visitors applied plenty of pressure, but we held firm, even managing to take the lead. But we could only hold it for a matter of seconds as they hit back almost immediately. They pushed hard for a winner, but we managed to keep them out to secure another point. Table Spoiler Our 5th unbeaten as we keep 11th place, and have built a 5 point break from the relegation zone. We soaked up plenty of pressure, but the hosts hit back with an equaliser, and we were probably lucky to not concede a second.
