Does picking a pitch size affect my formation?

As I was putting in my last thread about 3-4-1-2 so picking this formation or wide formation would affect my formation or no? or would you not pick a 4 or 5 midfield formation if it were slightly narrower at the sides? this is why I think they should have a preview when you pick a pitch size at the start of the season

Should make a significant difference, yeh. When offering you the choice of pitch dimensions, it does give clues as to advised playing style, which implies formation.

I usually do youth-only saves in lower leagues, so with players being weak, and low-skilled, I ask for a minimum size. If I lack wingers, I'll want narrow; opposite if my formations emphasises wingplay. If I have fast strikers and go route one, I might want a long pitch.
