October

A solid month in October sees us climb up to fifth and advance to the last 16 of the Danish Cup.

Goals are starting to come in but we need to be more clinical.

Magic of the Cup

We reach the Quarter Final of the Danish Cup, an unbelievable achievement for the club.

We've had a very easy draw, beating struggling fellow third division side Fredericia in the Rof16

However, we still had to go and get the job done, and we now have a game at home against a Superliga side.

Can the fairytale continue?

Perfect November

Five wins from Five this month, and suddenly we find ourselves in a battle for first place.

The main reason for our brilliant form is that frontman Skjellerup has finally remembered how to score.

A winter break awaits us before returning in the last two days of Feburary

Skjellerup's Reward

After his brilliant run of form that saw us go second and reach the QF of the Danish Cup, I have decided to reward Skjellerup.

Not with a new contract, but rather by loaning in his brother to play alongside him, which should do well for morale.

December - April

We continued our great form in the league, finishing the Preliminary phase top of the table.

The QF Cup drubbing earned us a solid 150K, which was much needed as we were touching 200K in debt before that fixture

10 tough fixtures await, and although I'd love to win the league, we will be aiming for second and gaining promotion

The Race for promotion

Two wins from three to start the promotion group, Kolding seems our Kryptonite as we drop points again.

4 points clear of third, and we face them next. A win would be massive to our promotion push

The end of the Danish Journey

Winning promotion this season was a surprise, and having seen the budget for next season

I feel it's better for my career to move on while I'm on top. Back to the job search

Going to Greece

I took my sweet time and was very picky with the next role as I wanted somewhere I can really make a name for myself

In December we signed with struggling Greek team Paok, they are predicted to be 4th but are in 8th

Have a decent wage budget for a team in this division, and are in the Conference League

Time to make some magic!

December

Instant Impact from your truly, a win in the league, the cup, and an absolute slaughter in the Conference League

We are through to the playoffs of the Conference and the QF of the Cup.

Now for the wheeling and dealing

Jan Transfers

Some familiar names have joined us on loan until the end of the season. Much needed addition in the striker department as well as depth options in defense.

Screenshot(214).png.e3b33425e75ac0290828192937599450.png

The board sold Filippo Ranocchia to Italy for 6.5 Mil, which meant we needed another DM to challenge Eletu, enter Liam Gibbs

Another player who we brought from the Championship for little money is Alex Scott, he will slot into Midfield

Jan

A rocky first full month for us in Greece, we faced the top three 5 times and left heavily bruised.

A heavily rotated side in the second leg of the Greek Cup almost cost us, but we squeezed by to the Semi-Final

Feb has a much easier schedule in the league, but the Conference league and the cup will make it a tiring affair for our squad

Deadline Day Deal

Another striker joins our ranks, Romanian Denis Dragus. I play with three strikers and he provides some needed leadership to our young frontline

Italy Bound

Young Striker Stefanos Tzimas has signed with Juventus for 13.5Mil, a record fee for a Greek Club to receive.

He scored 12 goals in 27 appearances so far this season, and he kicked up a fuss about us rejecting their first offer at 4Mil.

Thankfully we held out for a good fee, and will keep him on loan for the rest of the campaign.

February

A busy month, but one where we came out on top.  With the exception of Atromitos, all these sides are much weaker than us, but it took a lot of rotation to bring us those wins.

We will face Villarreal in the round of 16 of the ECL, which seems like the end of the line, and although a second leg is yet to be played, a final against Olympiakos is looking likely.

They are chasing AEK in the league and seem like a tough outfit to face.

In the league, we are through to the Championship group where will be aiming for a 4th place finish, which gives us a 2nd round qualification spot in the ECL.

Marching On!

Another fantastic month at Paok, Villarreal was beaten at home, and they were lucky to score more than once, however, we were lucky away as we scored our chances and they didn't.

Our next opponent is Bologna, I don't have the Italian league loaded so IDK how they got there, they have a good squad, but not better than Villarreal. Dare we dream ?

In the league, we move into 4th, and now we will just try to hold on.

Our cup final against Olympiacoes is confirmed, it will be a busy April

Signed and delivered

We have turned the loan of Krattenmacher permanent halfway through his loan deal. He has 8 goals and 5 assists in 16 appearances, mostly playing with the second string as I left him out of the ECL list.

He cost us a lot of money, but at 20 years old, he's going to score a lot of goals for a long time and probably be sold for some good money.

The dream lives on!

Bologna were not that good, although the margin of victory was close, they barely threatened over the two games

We were poor offensively as well, scoring via a pen, and a counter-attacking goal. But they all count the Same.

Off to Prague for the SF, They are good, but not "we have no chance" good"

Dare we dream?

April

A busy April saw us leave mostly unscathed, with an advantage in the SF over Prague, but we still have to go to Czechia to finish it off

In the League we've all but secured 4th place and a Conference league spot for next season

Disaster in Prague

A sending-off in the first 20 minutes, giving away a penalty, giving the ball away in our box, and our keeper conceding 5 goals from 1.9xG. Our midfielder gets injured, a goal gets disallowed

Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong

The Conference League dream is over.

Award Season

Despite being here for half a season, Van Koopermiester snatches up his first Manager of the Year award.

Our three young strikers sweep the podium at the Talent of the Year award (young player of the season)

Tzimas is going to Juventus in the summer, but I will try to get him in on a loan

Liam Delap's contract is expiring. but he is asking for ridiculous demands and I feel can get someone of the same caliber on a loan or free transfer

Krattenmacher is showing he is worth the investment, and I have a feeling he will have a monster season next year.

We took the club from 8th to 4th in half a season and will be competing in the UECL second-round playoff

Other than those three players, I haven't been too impressed with the squad. It is old, overpaid, and lacks anyone that can make a difference.

We will be aiming for a major overhaul in the summer.

A Completely new squad

We go to work in the transfer window, and sign a whole new squad, in addition to signing a few players for the B team as well.

Most of the signings were free, we had to splash the cash on two Greek squad players for the Conference league rules, a goalkeeper, and an Argentine wunderkind

I'm very excited about the look of this team, the wages are on the higher side as opposed to before, but it is much younger and there will be plenty of profit made from sales in the long run

Season Preview

We're predicted to finish third, but I think I can challenge for the title.

AEK are clear favourites and have a very good squad. They have won the last three titles.

Our midfield duo is on the media dream eleven alongside a sea of yellow

September

A rocky start to the season that proved there is still work to be done to catch up to the big boys.

A 4-3 loss to AEK stung as they scored the winner in added time. However, there are positives with how close both games were

Still a long season ahead of us,m but it will be decided by the matches against the big three. The rest of the league is no match for us, or them.

October

A much better month where we win all our games including a huge derby game against Olympiacos. We are scoring a lot of goals due to having six strikers who are very good at this level.

Our squad depth is also coming in clutch as we rotate the side for midweek games. However, we're still not as solid defensively as I would like.

  • Ace40 changed the title to Sacked in a month in Latvia, Last gasp drama in Wales,Cup magic in Denmark, and an adventure in Greece - The ultimate Journeyman save

Hi Ace, great story line so far! How are your finances? Do you also use your youth facilities?

Cheers

Thanks, Jabay, I don't focus on youth facilities too much as I usually move on before any youth players come through,  but I try to get them upgraded when possible. In this team I'm enjoying focusing on the B team as they play in the second division so I can influence how much they play and what role/positions.

Here are the finances, they are in a good spot.

December

Our only hiccup this month is against AIK in the conference league, a heavily rotated side gets a draw away from home.

Next month is going to be a slaughter as there are 9 games in 4 weeks. It will be a real test

The January window is open, I'm not sure if we will be making much moves but my eyes are open towards any bargains.

A rival departed

A huge transfer in the league is French wonderkid Bruno Taveras has signed for Arsenal, he is Olympiacos and the league's top goal scorer

His departure will significantly weaken a direct title rival, as they replaced him with Omar Faraj, a striker who scored 2 goals in 16 games for Feyenoord

January

A very long month saw us climb back to first, although AEK has two games in hand on us. We still failed to beat the two big teams and title rivals.

Some of the B team players received their debuts against some of the weaker teams to help us out with rotation

We will face Olympiakos in a two-legged QF tie up next

February

We finally manage to beat the top two, albeit in the cup. We set up a final against Panathinaikos in May.

In the league, we are one point behind AEK now that they caught up on games played. One more game before the league splits into the championship group.

Incredible journey so far! I've never done a journeyman save as I always get to attached to my club. However this is inspiring me to consider one once i finish with my current save

It's a lot of fun so far, and I feel you. I struggle in this save to leave the clubs I'm at  but I know I have to keep moving up to win the CL and finish the save.

What's your current save?

We also move on to the QF of the Conference, where we will have a rematch with Bologna.
