Popular Post Makoto Nakamura
First off, why this club and what do I mean by the perfect breeding ground? Portuguese are Sao Paulo's 4th club, I've added Serie D as a playable league and holidayed a season for Portuguesa to get promoted from the unplayable Brazilian Lower Division. We have local rivalries with Corinthians, Palmeiras & Sao Paulo but it's going to take some time for us to get up to their level! And then why is this the perfect breeding ground? Brazil has the highest youth rating in the world, Sao Paulo is a city of 12.4 million people and an attraction rating of 20 so everyone will want to go there. For the early years of the save the big three will get the best local youth players but in time we'll be able to get the best players around, that's the plan anyway! Associação Portuguesa de Desportos, commonly referred to as Portuguesa, is a Brazilian professional football club based in the district of Pari, São Paulo, that competes in the Campeonato Paulista, the top tier of the São Paulo state football league. It is part of a sports club, founded on 14 August 1920, by the Portuguese population of the city. Last in Serie A 10 seasons ago we'll try to take them to their former glory. Makoto Nakamura
January 2024 I have no clue how we've started like this, two unreal wins and then a draw at home to Santo Andre.
Makoto Nakamura
February 2024 Just the two games in February but a shock win at home to Serie A side Vasco da Gama in the Copa do Brasil gives us a nice chunk of money and a second round match against non-league Luverdense. Makoto Nakamura
March 2024 Through to face Serie B side Brusque in the 3rd Round of the Copa do Brasil after another good month in the State Championship!
Makoto Nakamura
April 2024 Two friendlies and we scrape through to the fourth round of the Copa do Brasil! So top two from each group in the state qualify for the quarter final. We finish 3rd in our group with more points than the 2nd placed teams in every other group. Typical. Makoto Nakamura
January 2025 Not the best start but we have lost our best two strikers from last season and as you can see, we are now using players from the reserves to replace them. Makoto Nakamura
July 2025 Four wins from four mean we stay top of the table and qualify for the playoffs whilst sadly we lose a very good player in Diogo Silva who's release clause was met. We also lost our centreback Patrick after he refused to renew his contract.

Makoto Nakamura
January 2026 A poor start to the state campaign which isn't great when we've played four games at home. What I don't like is how we're continually getting weaker with players wanting to explore there options or go to a bigger club, especially when they're Serie C quality and have been at the club since they were in the 5th tier. Makoto Nakamura
February 2026 A month of two halves, thankfully! Against Sao Paulo it was a deserved loss but against Bragantino we were 2-1 down until the 85th minute and went down to 10 men in the 80th minute which didn't help! bpecanha
I love when someone here does a save with a brazilian team, I'll be following it closely. Portuguesa is a respected team here in Brazil. Unfortunately, they had a VERY controversial relegation in 2013 Serie A and never recovered. I'll explain what happened in the spoiler. Just one thing that I want to mention, I'm used to play in Brazilian lower leagues. Good Série D teams (like Portuguesa when you started the save) could easily play well in Série C and even Série B, the level is quite close. Série B to Série A is a big gap, though. And you had a lot of players that I liked to sign (Thomazella, Jean Victor, Chrigor, Nycollas Queiroz, Renan Gorne). A really good team for this level in FM. So that's why sometimes players will ask to leave. Spoiler About the 2013 championship: Portuguesa had a decent team and were already safe and sound in the final day, when they played away against Grêmio. It ended 0-0, but when sub Heverton entered the pitch in the 75th minute, everything changed. That's because Heverton wasn't rightly registered to play, so Lusa got 4 points deducted. Those 4 points sealed the relegation to Série B. However, this situation was really controversial because two giants of Brazil were involved in the fight against relegation: Flamengo and Fluminense. In the pitch, before points were deducted, Fluminense got relegated. It happened that Flamengo ALSO lost points in the final round, as they wrongly fielded former Arsenal LB André Santos. He should had missed the final game in the league because he was sent off in Brazilian Cup final. If Portuguesa didn't had 4 points deducted, Flamengo would go to Série B instead. 10 years later, this is still a point of debate here - and it is said, although not proven, that Portuguesa received money to field Heverton and "save" Flamengo and Fluminense. Having points deducted due to illegally fielding a player is definetely not common. In fact, I can't remember of any case in Serie A since this one. Portuguesa isn't seen as the villain in this situation, they are more like victims of a really bad chairman. I support Vasco da Gama and would love to see them back in the first division - in real life and in your save!

Sd about what ended up happening to Portuguesa, gives me even more reason to want to become the dominant force in Brazil! Makoto Nakamura
June 2026 Is this us finding our feet in the league? Three more wins and we move to a nice mid-table position! Makoto Nakamura
July 2026 Just the two points at home this month as we fall right back down to 14th and just three points clear of the drop, we need to start picking up the points soon! Makoto Nakamura
August 2026 And that's what three wins can do! The entire mid-table is very bunched up and just a couple bad results could be a nightmare for us again.

Makoto Nakamura
2026 End of Season Review Not the best of finishes to the season, and it turns out we would've been relegated with my prediction of 43 points so it' a good thing we ended up with a fair few more! We're going to be in for another tough season next year as we'll be losing WBR Bruno Souza at the end of his contract, we'll also potentially be losing starting DC Bruno Leonardo because he wanted to explore his options and our starting GK Thomazella is closing in on 37 so he won't be seeing much game time now either. Overall Best XI 2026 Best XI Thomazella Bruno Leonardo - Jonathan (ResE) - Robson Júnior Bruno Souza - Adriano (YP1e) - Tauã - Pedro Henrique (YP1c) Nycollas Queiroz - Yavir Kadir (ResB) - Chrigor

Makoto Nakamura
January 2027 A busy first half to the state campaign sits us nicely in mid-table, unfortunately we're in a group with Bragantino, Sao Paulo & Sao Bernardo so we can very easily finish last in the group.
Makoto Nakamura
February 2027 Sadly two more losses in the state means we're almost definitely going to have our worst finish so far, at least we got through in the cup, and we managed another upgrade! Unfortunately we've had no option to improve Youth Facilities whatsoever.
Makoto Nakamura
March 2027 A great end to the state campaign but we still finish down in 3rd in our group, very interesting to see Mirassol make the playoff with just the 7 points though! Pedro is a big loss. And I had no say in it.
