reevey
Everyone knows the FM Gibraltar Challenge.. Manage a football club in Gibraltar, take them to Europe, become a force to be reckoned with.. Whilst also managing the Gibraltar national team and making the most of the league becoming better, attracting better players, better sponsorships to enhance the national squad and move them up the rankings. I decided against starting this forum from day one as its a slow burn to get things moving. But now I am beginning to make progress in Europe I am going to share my story with you all. I am currently approaching the end of the 2028/29 season as manager of Lincoln Red Imps, I have just secured my 6th consecutive league title and I am heading towards my 5th Rock Cup final. However my biggest achievement this season is my European adventure, I was knocked out of the Champions League at the Playoff stage by Dinamo Zagreb 4-1 on aggregate. This put me into the Europa League. The Europa League draw was fairly kind to me despite all of the clubs I was to face being much bigger, but it could certainly have been worse. Some solid home and away performances coupled with man of the match performances from key players such as Elliot Embleton and Darko Gyabi meant that we qualified for the playoff round where we were to face FC Midtjylland from Denmark, a team with internationals and individual players with a value that is more than my whole club. An unbelievable away performance gave us the advantage after a 3-2 victory. Now it was time for the home leg, at the Victoria Stadium, where we average of a crowd of around 800. Another outstanding performance gives us a 2-0 victory and puts us through to the LAST 16 OF THE EUROPA LEAGUE where we were drawn against PSV Eindhoven. Unfortunately PSV were too strong for us on this occasion.
reevey
The fantastic European run coupled with the previous seasons has left the club with a hefty bank balance. You can see some of the stats in the image below, this will hopefully allow us to push on in the transfer window and attract bigger and better players to the league to help us push further and develop the national team. I have already managed to attract players that fans of the Championship and below would be familiar with. The current squad contains some of the biggest stars that I have managed in my six year career to date. This include, Malcolm Ebiowei, Connor Barron, Elliot Embleton, Darko Gyabi and Anthony Scully. Elliot Embleton is less than 100 days away from being able to become a Gibraltar national and would be eligible to play for the national team. His assists and goals have proved valuable both in the league and in Europe. Another player I have already mentioned is Darko Gyabi, who already has 18 assists in the league this season from central midfield. He is the highest earner in the team would I thought it was worth it to bring him in at a young age and hopefully one day he will represent the national team. The only difficulty with the league is that five players trained in Gibraltar as a youth player must be in the starting 11. I am hoping that the league starts to develop better players after our performances in Europe as the league and nation are sure to recieve more funding through sponsorships and TV rights as we progress through the nation coefficients ladder.
