TerminalPortugal
FC LERO (TIMOR-LESTE) SEASON 2105 EAST TIMORESE SUPER CUP We played in the Super Cup this season and we came away with the win 4-2 to take 20 points. PRIMEIRA DIVISAUN We were pretty close to immaculate in the league as we dropped four points all season on the way to a second league title. 50 points gained. TACA 12 DE NOVEMBRO We finished off another cup run with a win in the final against Benfica Laulara to win another 20 points to our total. AFC CUP The AFC Cup in the secondary competition in Asia and it straddles two season in East Timor as our season runs by calender year not traditional football seasons. I thought we were going out of the Groups as normally only the group winners make it through, but we managed to get through as the best placed runner up. So we will be back in the coming season with continental football, and of course we qualified again for the next seasons tournament anyway by virtue of the league win this season. SQUAD The club turned semi professional but didn't actually give us much of a budget so for all intents and purposes most of our players are still poachable. We improved the team this year as again we would lose players but find replacements and better players for the first team. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS We have started to dominate East Timorese football, but the AFC Cup looks like a long shot. I think we will see how we do in the remainder of this AFC Cup and then we might make a decision about whether we continue into the season after next. As the AFC Cup straddles the seasons it is going to be a little annoying now making decisions about when to potentially look elsewhere. At the very least we will be here next season. TerminalPortugal
FC LERO (TIMOR-LESTE) SEASON 2106 EAST TIMORESE SUPER CUP We captured another Super Cup as we won out 3-2. Another 10 points added. PRIMEIRA DIVISAUN We stayed long enough to capture a final title here in East Timor. The reasoning for leaving is that we in July now and that should at least give us a shot of picking up a job should one become available in the early season which should stand us in better stead than if we wait around. In terms of this league title, we actually started a bit naff, but eventually we became pretty unbeatable. TACA 12 DE NOVEMBRO We reached the final, but strategically we are foregoing the points to move on from the club earlier. AFC CUP We made it as far as the final of our zone where we lost to Johor DT. I think it would be really hard to win this tournament with a Timorese side, so I think we just need to accept that it won't happen and move on. I think we did very well to get as far as we did. SQUAD We have steadily improved the side where we can , but it is a bit of a two tone team. Either we have divisional superstars or guys who can barely kick a football. So there was still work to be one, but as you can see most guys are still on amateur deals. I could have worked hard to put everyone on a contract, but my mind has been made up that I was leaving for a little while so I will let the next manager do that job. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS This season we did not get many points on account of depreciation and unfortunately we could not progress much further in the AFC Cup. I think is more prudent to move on than to continue to chance our arm in AFC Cup football which I think we will continue to struggle at. At least we are over halfway now to AFC14. TerminalPortugal
AL-SUWAIQ (OMAN) SEASON 2106/07 On leaving FC Lero, we had other offers from Timorese clubs at the end of the season, but none from elsewhere at that time. None of the clubs in Timor we were offered were attractive, but soon after we got a job offer from Oman, at the second best team in the league so the move before the Timorese Cup Final probably paid off in the end. We duly accepted the job at Al-Suwaiq, but realistically we were not going to get any points for the remainder of the season as they were out of all cups and Dhofar by far the best team in the country were top by a mile, unbeaten and hadn't even drawn a game when we took over. We were sitting 5th and the job was to get the club up the table and qualify for the AFC Cup. OMANTEL PROFESSIONAL LEAGUE We had a good end to the season that achieved our goals and we qualified for the AFC Cup in 2nd place in the league. The daunting part is that Dhofar completed their unbeaten, all win season and looking at the history of the competition this was their 13th league title in a row. So we are facing a serious opponent in this league. SQUAD The squad is good, it's not as good as Dhofar's but still very competitive. Our issue is going to be improving the team, as I just don't actually think there are many positions we can improve looking at the scout reports we have. The international players we have, we would struggle to improve upon, so we might be stuck playing the hand we have at the moment. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS No points and that would normally be bad, but it was just a small part of the season. There are two cups, a super cup and a league in Oman and I am sure we will be able to prize some away from Dhofar, plus there is the AFC Cup which we have qualified for so there is plenty of scope to win things here, it is just that Dhofar are a real formidable opponent and it will be difficult to beat them to anything domestically. TerminalPortugal
AL-SUWAIQ (OMAN) SEASON 2107/08 OMAN SUPER CUP Our first opportunity at points was the Omani Super Cup and unfortunately we lost it to Dhofar. OMANTEL LEAGUE The league is going down to the wire, but for reasons that will become apparent we are leaving the club. We managed to do the double over Dhofar in the league this season which is why we are anywhere at all. They were still leading the league after we beat them 4-2 in the league most recently but they drew a game recently that leaves us in the box seat going into the final game. We just need to get a point against Mirbat to win the league. MAZDA PROFESSIONAL CUP The final may as well have been the semi final against Dhofar, which we just managed to get the win in extra time. The final against Sur turned into a rout. 40 points earned. SULTAN QABOOS CUP We got the final of the other Omani cup and play Dhofar in the final but we are leaving before the final is played in a few days. AFC CUP We entered the group phase in the West Asian Zone for the AFC Cup and managed to get through without much issue. Al Faisly of Jordan were next and they gave us no trouble. Then we faced Tishreen again whom we had faced in the group phase and we narrowly got past them. In the final we played Indonesian outfit Persebaya and it wasn't much of contest as we win the AFC Cup and gain 200 points. The AFC Cup added to the domestic cup are enough to secure our passage to AFC14. SQUAD Not a lot of movement really, we sold a few squad players and picked up a few other squad players. No major changes. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS We have conquered the first rung of the Asian ladder, and we did it via East Timor and Oman. The AFC Cup campaign with our Omani side was easier than I expected. It is a shame that we are leaving before we can conquer the title and the Sultan's Cup, but we have the points so we need to move on. We will now be moving on to AFC14, which will consist of Chinese Taipei, Pakistan, Brunei and Guam MAP Map Link SUMMARY
TerminalPortugal
SABINA FC (BRUNEI) SEASON 2109 We waited for quite a while for our next job and we had a pretty poor selection. Clubs that had already been or were about to be relegated were most common. Eventually we got a job offer in Brunei for Sabina FC. They were not good, the squad looked pretty awful but at least they looked safe in the league and we could just coast into the end of the season and hopefully build up the club in the off season. LIGA SUPER BRUNEI It wasn't pretty, but we did manage to the improve the club a bit from 12th up to 9th place. The gap to the top of the league looks massive and I do wonder whether we can realistically attempt to challenge in just one season. SQUAD Most of the players that are not 1 star, have mostly not played because they arrived after the registration period, so we have already started on improving the team, but the squad before was absolutely awful. We need to seriously keep improving to have any chance of competing at the top of the table. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS No points but that was pretty much a certainty when we joined. We look a long way from challenging for anything at this time, so we need to improve the team substantially. MAP Map Link SUMMARY
TerminalPortugal
SABINA FC (BRUNEI) SEASON 2110 LIGA SUPER BRUNEI We managed to conquer the league title and it was a bit surprising but I still feel I am some way behind when it comes to the squad. It was pretty close between us, DPMM and BSRC, but towards the end we pulled away and it ended up being 15 points by the end of the season, but it was closer than it looked for the vast majority of the season. We pick up 100 points. BRUNEIAN FA CUP The FA Cup is a long tournament here in Brunei and we actually had a pretty smooth path. ABDB gave us the closest game but even that was one sided towards us. We pick up 40 points. SQUAD It has been a tough road picking up players to improve the squad. There are very few players that our scouts pick up and the agent offers especially for foreign players are way down. The squad is not in the best in the league but we managed to perform better than that this season. Muhd Firadus Mohamad has particularly been delightful this season with 40 goals from the left wing, that is some going from the guy. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS We did about as well if not better than I expected that we would do. I still think we could drop off next season because we just don't have the level of squad that would assure me of victory. We had to fight pretty hard for the majority of the season to make the double happen. Next season we will be in AFC Cup football, but I would suggest that we would have almost no chance of winning the tournament. TerminalPortugal
SABINA FC (BRUNEI) SEASON 2111 BRUNEIAN SUPER CUP We managed to capture the Super Cup and gain 20 additional points. LIGA SUPER BRUNEI We are well off the pace in the league and that has precipitated that I move on from the club. The problem we have is that we just can't find players, we have half star centre backs and that is just a continuous. In the league we have been really inconsistent, and I don't see us coming back. BRUNEIAN FA CUP Our exit from the FA Cup was the straw that broke the camels back that we needed to leave this club as soon as possible. We are wasting our time here. In terms of our run, it was always going to be difficult in our current situation up against BRSC. SQUAD We tried to improve the squad as much as we could but fundamentally , we have no centre backs of any note, no DM's and its just not worth trying to remedy this. There seem to be almost no half decent Bruneian centre backs and we are limited to five foreign players and we have struggled to even find centre backs amongst them. We did win things at this club so I don't leave empty handed but this a really bad squad, and we have only really slightly improved it over the time we have been at the club. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS We leave the club, as we just aren't in a position to challenge, and I would have left the club at the end of the season anyway. We made sure that the board are happy with us so we are not leaving under threat of a sacking so we will lose no points. Even this season we managed to increase our total points by 20, so even then we have made some progress. We will leave and hopefully resurface somewhere a little better. I always felt taking this job, pretty much from the start was likely to be a bit of a mistake. In the end we did better than I thought, but we still leave mid season. TerminalPortugal
ROYAL BLUES TAIPEI (CHINESE TAIPEI) SEASON 2112 On leaving Sabina in Brunei, we did not have to wait too long before we found our next job and it was a good one. The champions of Chinese Taipei had their manager leave at the end of the season and we were able to pick up the role. So this would be a very different situation and exactly why I decided to risk leaving Brunei. CHINESE TAIPEI FOOTBALL PREMIER LEAGUE The league requires a playoff at the end which can be a little annoying especially if you have topped the league like we did, but we did manage to beat Taipower in the final to lift the league title. 100 points earned. CTFA FA Cup Taipower were again the main opposition in the cup and we faced them in the final coming through 3-1. We win another 40 points. AFC CUP On virtue of having won the league the season before we were pre-qualified into the AFC Cup and so far it has been so good because we managed to make it to the group stage and have managed to pull our way out of the groups without too much issue. The competition will conclude next season. I highly doubt whether we have the resources to win this tournament but we do still have a chance. SQUAD The club does not have a youth team so we have a monstrous sized squad and it doesn't seem right to just release all the young players. So the image so the guys who actually played games. The squad is good for the standard and we haven't had to bring in too many players. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS We have got back on track here at Royal Blues and we have reached 300 points. Should we win the AFC Cup by some miracle then the leg would be over, but I doubt that will happen. We will see what we can do next season but hopefully we can repeat the domestic season we had this season for plenty of points. TerminalPortugal
ROYAL BLUES TAIPEI (CHINESE TAIPEI) SEASON 2113 AFC CUP I didn't give us much of chance to actually win the AFC Cup, but I was wrong as we proceeded through the competition without too much even beating our old side Omani outfit Al-Suwaiq in the final 2-0. Those 200 points are enough to complete the leg. SQUAD We only really brought in a couple of squad players, otherwise the team is the same. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS We were going well in the league in 1st place, but we are only 9 to 10 games into the season, so not really worth showing it, and the cup had only just started and we had progressed. The AFC Cup win is a nice surprise for us as we complete this leg via Brunei and Chinese Taipei. Next up we will be moving on to AFC13 which consists of Nepal, Mongolia, Bhutan and Afghanistan. TerminalPortugal
MACHHINDRA FC (NEPAL) SEASON 2114 We waited a while to find a job until we finally found our job. Machhindra FC in Nepal, were last year's champions but we languishing just above the relegation zone. To be honest their team has been decimated since winning the league so they were underperforming but I am not sure by how much. A-DIVISION We did better than before I arrived at the club. The club hadn't won a game before I arrived, but it's still not great. We will need to improve substantially to be able to challenge for the league next season. SQUAD There is quality in the side but we need to improve the team a lot. Again we have issues at centre back which we are struggling to address. We already have some players joining that should help but I also expect to lose a substantial amount such is the game when your an amateur club. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS We will need to improve the team a lot, if we are to win anything next year. So we will see what we are able to do. TerminalPortugal
MACHHINDRA FC (NEPAL) SEASON 2114/15 A-DIVISION NUWAKOT GOLD CUP AAHA! RARA GOLD CUP SQUAD Building this squad was not easy on account of how easy it is to lose players. For some reason the players at our club are quite happy to jump ship anywhere even to non-league Nepalese clubs, so it is hard to keep them around. But we did manage to generally keep our most important players and add to the squad and now we have a pretty good squad. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS We went the entire season unbeaten in every competition and we managed to pull of a treble as we won both cup competitions and the league title. It has been a great season for us and we take home 180 points for the three trophies that opens our account in Nepal and in AFC13. We have also qualified for the AFC Cup. I again think that it will be difficult to win this tournament, but I was wrong in Chinese Taipei so we will be going all out to see if we can do it again. TerminalPortugal
MACHHINDRA FC (NEPAL) SEASON 2115/16 A-DIVISION The league title went right down to the wire, and we were second favourites going into the final day as we sat two points behind Manang Marsyangdi, needing them to drop points. That ended being exactly what happened as they struggled at home to Sankata Boys eventually losing 3-2 and we managed to win against a relegation playoff bound Far Western. All season we were pretty inconsistent by my standards as seemingly every time we got in the lead of the league we would drop points and hand the initiative back, so perhaps the only way we were going to win the league was to win on the final day, when we could not do that in the next fixture. NUWAKOT GOLD CUP AAHA! RARA GOLD CUP AFC CUP We went all the way in AFC Cup as we have done on a few occasions with an unfancied side. We faced off against our old side Al-Suwaiq an came through by the skin of our teeth with two late goals completely turning the result around. SQUAD The club turned professional and that has allowed us to completely revolutionize the squad and we can actually keep a hold of players now. We probably have the best side in the country at this point, although it is still close. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS A great season for us as we took home four trophies including the AFC Cup and we sit just 30 points away from completing this leg. So it will require the league and a cup and that will be enough. Theoretically the first trophy we can win, especially considering the league is not enough by itself will be the AFC Cup, so it we can repeat what we did this season, which will be very difficult it would the AFC Cup that would give us the points. Alternatively we will need the league and a cup as suggested. Both cups by themselves won't be enough. MAPS Map Link SUMMARY
TerminalPortugal
MACHHINDRA FC (NEPAL) SEASON 2116/17 A-DIVISION AAHA! RARA GOLD CUP NUWAKOT GOLD CUP AFC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE I incorrectly stated that the AFC Cup would be our first chance to pass the region, but in fact I had forgotten that winning that tournament last year qualified us for the AFC Champions League instead. The adventure did not last long. SQUAD The squad is as good as I can make it now to be honest. We have the best side in the country by a healthy margin now. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS In the end we just needed the league title and a cup and we did at the first opportunity, discounting any continental competitions. We were very dominant this season and finally we got to the point where things were pretty easy for us. The two trophies we won got us to the 500 points and we now can move on to AFC12 which consists of North Korea, Cambodia, Laos and Bangladesh. TerminalPortugal
BASHUNDHARA KINGS (BANGLADESH) SEASON 2117/18 We were out of work for about 15 months before we got our first job in the new region. We had offers from clubs facing really difficult relegation battles and those I swerved, but eventually Bashundhara Kings from Bangladesh came in for us and we opted to sign with them. They were sitting in 3rd in the league, and are probably the best side in the country although it is close between the top 3 or 4 sides. We were arriving at the club right at the end of the season with just two games to go, so these games were really more like friendlies for us to test out the squad and see what changes we would need to make. NITOL TATA BANGLADESH PREMIER LEAGUE SQUAD We have some talent at the club, but also have some gaps. We have already started working in the transfer market to see if you can reinforce what we already have. At least the club is professional and we have players under contract which was a bugbear of mine in Nepal. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS There isn't a lot to go on, as we only played two games, but at least we won them. I am confident that next season we will be able to challenge for the league and other competitions domestically. MAP Map Link SUMMARY
TerminalPortugal
BASHUNDHARA KINGS (BANGLADESH) SEASON 2118/19 NITOL TATA BANGLADESH PREMIER LEAGUE FEDERATION CUP INDEPENDENCE CUP SQUAD On getting the squad last season I was happy and we just sought to improve the team where we could. We decided to get a few additional international players that we still had room for a got where we could a few Bangladeshi players that would improve the team further. At the moment there is no doubt we have the best side in the country. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS We absolutely battered the league this season across every domestic competition. The league was barely a contest and most of the time we were scoring 5 or 6 it felt like. In the end we managed to get a domestic treble which gives us 180 points and it is a very nice start to life in Bangladesh and AFC12. Next season we have qualified for the AFC Champions League which is likely a step to far for us, but we will see how we go. The goal is to hopefully repeat our domination domestically and at the end of next season we will need to make a decision about our future. TerminalPortugal
BASHUNDHARA KINGS (BANGLADESH) SEASON 2119/20 NITOL TATA BANGLADESH PREMIER LEAGUE FEDERATION CUP INDEPENDENCE CUP AFC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SQUAD There wasn't much need for improvement with the current squad, we brought in a few squad players to replace a few players who were disgruntled with their playing time but very little else. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS It ended up being about as perfect a season as we could have hoped for as we won every domestic game this season. The Champions League of course was step too much for us, but we did manage to beat Suwon of South Korea which was quite a scalp for us, but ultimately we exited at the group stage. I have been looking at the mathematics of the points and I think it makes sense to stay another season and hopefully get another treble under our belt which should put us at around the 300 point mark and that will then hold us in good stead to hopefully achieve the target quickly after if we get the right club. TerminalPortugal
BASHUNDHARA KINGS (BANGLADESH) SEASON 2120/21 NITOL TATA BANGLADESH PREMIER LEAGUE FEDERATION CUP INDEPENDENCE CUP AFC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SQUAD Very few improvements to this team as we pretty much had a perfect team for this level of league. There were some who left and a few homegrown players we brought into replace them but the team is roughly the same as it was last year. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS We managed our third treble in three years, which has been a pretty great achievement for us. We leave the club a few weeks before the end of the season because we have captured all the points on offer. In the Champions League we weren't able to make any significant progress, as we beat the East Timorese side but found it tough against the South Korean and Australian opposition. We have over 300 points so that holds us in good stead to hopefully a few season have finished with AFC12. MAP Map Link SUMMARY
TerminalPortugal
FC CHANTHABOULY (LAOS) SEASON 2122 We were only out of job for about a month or so before we found our next management position. FC Chanthabouly one of the better sides in Laos had just finished in penultimate place in the league just above the only relegation place and they seemed like the perfect club to take on next. We would have a long pre-season to make all the necessary changes at the club and bring in the players that would help us to success. LEAGUE 1 FEDERATION CUP SQUAD We pretty much doubled the size of the squad as we hoovered up all the Laotian talent we could get our hands on as well as bringing in international players where we would who would improve us. Junior ended up being a really important pick up for us as he was top goalscorer and top assist maker for us from the left wing position. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS The plan was to hopefully win the domestic double and that would leave us with just another league win away from completing the leg. The league part of the equation went to plan and we more or less walked the league, which is a short league of just 14 games. However in the Federation Cup we fell at the Quarter Final stage against what is on paper the best side in Laos; Lane Xang Intra. This leaves us in the position that if we want to advance next year we will need the domestic double. There is a wildcard however in our qualification for the AFC Cup, which as we have found is a tournament that we have won as a manager with lesser sides before. MAP Map Link SUMMARY
TerminalPortugal
FC CHANTHABOULY (LAOS) SEASON 2123 LAOTIAN SUPER CUP LEAGUE 1 FEDERATION CUP AFC CUP SQUAD The squad changed only a little with some new Laotian players we picked up from some of the local sides, but apart from that there was little change and we were still the best side in the country by my reckoning. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS Our job this season was to do the domestic double and we did along with the Super Cup which I hadn't even accounted for the season before, but it didn't change the calculations. The AFC Cup was only at the end of the season, so we made the group stage but having achieved our goals we leave that to the next manager. So we complete AFC12 having done it in Bangladesh and Laos, and we now travel to AFC11 which consists of Macau, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Myanmar. TerminalPortugal
DORDOY BISHKEK (KYRGYZSTAN) SEASON 2125 We were out of work for almost two years before we found a job that was to our requirements. Dordoy Bishkek are in Kyrgyzstan and are a big club in the country, roughly the third biggest at this time but they were sitting just outside the relegation places with half the season to go. Our job was to keep them safe from relegation with a mid-table finish. SHORO TOP-LIGA SQUAD The team is good, but was underperforming before we arrived. We already managed to make a few moves in the market. Fumo, Akiana and Fra came in a key international players for us, and we also got in a few Kyrgyz players where we were able to bring them in to improve the first team. Next season I can see us again overhauling the international players again as I feel we can do better than some of the players we currently have at the club. But that is for next season. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS The brief was to keep the club up and get to mid-table but the impact of us joining was pretty extreme as we went on a winning streak all the way to the end of the season and ended up leapfrogging Alga into the final AFC Cup spot. That was some very good progress for us and makes me think that we should really be winning the league next season provided nothing major changes at the club or in the quality of the opposition. MAP Map Link SUMMARY
TerminalPortugal
DORDOY BISHKEK (KYRGYZSTAN) SEASON 2126 SHORO TOP-LIGA AFC CUP SQUAD We continued to improve the team this year, we signed some decent Kyrgyz players where there were improvements to be made and continued to improve the international players at the club letting the ones that were not clear first XI players leave or demoted them to U21 team and brought in new players. In this league we are allowed 6 foreign players so its important that we have the best players possible in varied positions. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS A really good season as we walked the league and picked up the first 100 points of AFC11, and we are proceeding very nicely in the AFC Cup having moved through our group without any issues at all. There is meant to be a cup in Kyrgyzstan but it seems to have an issue that I have seen in many Kyrgyz custom leagues where it is the second division that plays it out and the top league teams are not involved. That makes things a little more complicated, but the plan here will be qualify for the AFC Cup and hopefully win it, then that will qualify us for the AFC Champions League, which is almost certain we won't have a chance at winning and then the following season we should be back in the AFC Cup and the accumulated points will be enough. At least that is potential the perfect route here without needing to change clubs. Obviously there is a good chance that this won't happen and we may need to reconsider but for now that is the plan. TerminalPortugal
DORDOY BISHKEK (KYRGYZSTAN) SEASON 2127 SHORO TOP-LIGA SUPERKUBOK KYRGYZSTANA AFC CUP AFC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SQUAD The squad is pretty similar to how it was the season before, just the few amendments here and there mostly to the depth of the team where I could improve. We are going to have a few issues to resolve over the off season because there are few of the key players who don't want to renew their contracts, especially some of the better international players so we will need to replace them. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS We managed to win the league without any issue and we got the added bonus of the Supercup which I hadn't really factored into my calculations, but to be honest it is not going to make a huge difference. The big competition was the AFC Cup and we managed to go all the way and win that competition, despite a few tough ties, ultimately we were pretty comfortable in the latter stages of the competition. The AFC Champions League did not go well, we qualified for that on account of having won the AFC Cup. The wrench in the works to my plan is that our league now seems to qualify us to the AFC Champions League, so this is actually counterproductive for us as we don't really have much of a chance of winning that competition, especially if you consider that we fell at the first hurdle this season. So next season could well be our last at Dordoy if that remains the same and if I see no real improvement in our performance in the Champions League. TerminalPortugal
DORDOY BISHKEK (KYRGYZSTAN) SEASON 2128 SHORO TOP-LIGA SUPERKUBOK KYRGYZSTANA AFC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SQUAD This year, was a year where we improved the team again. The additions of Mutombo-Mboyo at fullback is a big improvement and N'Djock also helps substantially in defensive midfield. Perhaps the biggest improvement was Abubacar Sano who is a super player for this level. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS We managed to get another league title and win the Supercup again however the issue we have is that we continue to qualify for the Champions League and we just have no chance at really advancing in that competition let alone winning it, this year proved that well enough. So we have decided to leave the club, the same day that it was confirmed that we had won the league title, which was pretty early on, there are still a lot of games to play. Hopefully that means we get ahead of the curve when the next job becomes available. We are less than 100 points away from completing this leg, so we are close now to completion here in this region, we just need another domestic league title anywhere else. TerminalPortugal
CHAO PAK KEI (MACAU) SEASON 2129 We were only out of work for a month before we had our next opportunity, we had three different job offers in Macau and in the end we opted for Chao Pak Sei, the second best club in Macau and the best option for us. The season had just finished and they had finished second to a dominant Monte Carlo side. The job was clear for us, we needed a league title to end this leg this season. LIGA DE ELITE TACA DE MACAU MACAU-CANTON CUP SQUAD With no league restrictions on the number of foreigners we bolstered the team with anyone who would improve the team. The squad already had a fair few foreign players and we only added to that. In the end we still have the second best team in the country, but this team was good enough this season. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS It was a real battle in Macau this season between us and Monte Carlo, neither of us could get the upper hand on the other in our league games and both went undefeated in the league, however they had one more draw addtional to the two draws we had in the league. We would also face each in both cup finals present in Macau, but with the 100 points from the league, we had reached the 500 points and were free to move on. Next up we will be moving onto AFC 10 which consists of Hong Kong, India, Jordan and Indonesia. Sometimes if you go into the Add/Remove Leagues at a particular time or depending which you remove it doesn't allow you to confirm, either because there would be no league loaded at a particular time or something like that, you also can't unload a league if your managing in it, so I tend to try and unload and load leagues when I am unemployed and generally it always seems to work ok. TerminalPortugal
AIZAWL (INDIA) SEASON 2130/31 We were out of work for just under a year before we got our first job in the region and that was Aizawl in India. They are a good side in India but had had a pretty bad season before we arrived, finishing in 7th place. The team looked fine if could use a bit of improvement. The main issue at the club that I could see was a pretty negative bank balance and we were over our wage budget already before we arrived which would make things a little more difficult. HERO I-LEAGUE DURAND CUP FEDERATION CUP SQUAD Due to the overspending and delicate bank balance we were not able to improve the team until the I-League season ended and the board gave us a new budget which gave us a little more to work with. That allowed us to bring in Khuduga, Magnusson and Souindoula, who all have only been involved in the end of the season Federation Cup. Elsewhere the team has been great and overperformed slightly against expectations. We want to continue to improve the side, but I suspect that will be difficult. In many ways the defence was the issue last season and the new signings especially at the back should improve things immediately. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS We came in and we achieved a treble in the first season, capturing the I-League title and both domestic cups which is great for us and sets us up nicely as we move onto a healthy 180 points to start off the new region. Next season we will be sticking around and seeing if we can repeat the feat. At the moment it is not year clear to me whether we have qualified for the AFC Cup or the AFC Champions League. I would prefer the former since I feel we would have a chance at winning that and would have no chance at the Champions League. TerminalPortugal
AIZAWL (INDIA) SEASON 2131/32 HERO I-LEAGUE DURAND CUP FEDERATION CUP AFC CUP SQUAD The added budget allowed us to get in a few more domestic players as well as Yenoussou, added to that we also lost a few players who weren't up to standard or didn't want to renew their contract. At the end of the season we got fortunate with with Agnelo Fernandes, who at just 16 years old is already our best left winger, he came in the youth intake. The squad looks good and the budgets are increasing. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS We lost out on the Durand Cup in the early season losing in the final, but we managed to win everything up, including the league, Fed Cup and AFC Cup, which now puts us very close to progressing from this region. We would just need a domestic treble I believe to make that a reality now. MAP Map Link SUMMARY
TerminalPortugal
AIZAWL (INDIA) SEASON 2132/33 HERO I-LEAGUE DURAND CUP FEDERATION CUP AFC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SQUAD Barely any moves, just a few players in from domestic sides to bolster our depth a little bit. This team is by far the best team in India at this point. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS We needed a domestic treble to secure our passage to the next region by 5 points, and we did just that capturing the Durand Cup early in the season, blitzing the league winning every game and winning the Federation Cup at the end of the season. We were perfect domestically winning every game in every competition. We did however lose in the our Preliminary playoff for the Champions League to Syrian opposition which was a step too far for us but probably a blessing in keeping our players fresh for domestic football action. We leave AFC10 behind and move on to AFC9 which features Malaysia, Iraq, Kuwait and Bahrain. MAP Map Link SUMMARY
TerminalPortugal
SRI PAHANG (MALAYSIA) SEASON 2135 We chose to wait around for almost two years. I say we chose to wait around as we could have gotten a club earlier, but every single club we had a chance at an interview with before that time were mostly rooted to the bottom of their respective tables or in and around the relegation places. Many of these were also meant to be exactly where they were and I just didn't see any value in going to these clubs and having to work uphill. Eventually Sri Pahang came along and they are a good side in Malaysia who were sitting in 8th place prior to our arrival. Our job was to keep them safe and bring them up the table if we could so we could hopefully kick on the next season. LIGA SUPER MALAYSIA PIALA MALAYSIA SQUAD A decent squad for Malaysia, but we do need some improvements at the club, and we have already started working on that during our time at the club picking up players on expiring contracts to come over from rivals to improve things. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS We managed to turn the fortunes of Sri Pahang in the league and brought them up to 3rd place, which realistically was about as far as we could have got with them. The good news was that when we arrived we were still involved in the Malaysian Cup and we managed to go all the way and win that competition to get the first points on the board. It's not much as yet but it is a start, and normally in the first season especially when we take on a club mid season we have to accept nothing as our start point after the first season pointswise. TerminalPortugal
SRI PAHANG (MALAYSIA) SEASON 2136 LIGA SUPER MALAYSIA/PIALA SULTAN HAJI AHMAD SHAH PIALA FA MALAYSIA PIALA MALAYSIA SQUAD We improved the team a lot with international players, but we are still considered the third best side in the country behind Johor DT and Selangor. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS The Malaysian Super Cup is a little strange because it is also a league game. We drew against Johor DT but were given the trophy although it doesn't show up in our list of trophies, so not sure if we shared it with Johor or what but I am counting it as a trophy. We also won the league, despite it being close. We fell out of both domestic competitions which was very disappointing, but we have made some progress. TerminalPortugal
SRI PAHANG (MALAYSIA) SEASON 2137 LIGA SUPER MALAYSIA/PIALA SULTAN HAJI AHMAD SHAH PIALA FA MALAYSIA PIALA MALAYSIA AFC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SQUAD Malaysia is a bit weird because the players contracts expire just before the end of the season so we actually lost our best striker over this period so we don't have his stats shown here but I have put him down as our top scorer this season with his stats. We lost a few players, the striker was the main guy who we will miss up to a point, because we can replace him and actually we should be stronger next season since we can improve many of the international players we currently have at the team. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS It was a good season as took away a domestic quadruple. In the league it was close but we were always just that step ahead of Johor DT and managed to just keep our noses ahead going into the run in. In the Champions League we would lose out before the group stages, but we did get the impressive scalp of Adelaide United along the way. We don't seem remotely close to challenging for that competition. With that in mind I think I will stay at Sri Pahang next season, but that will be our last as we are starting to suffer from depreciating points. Having said that we are now over halfway towards our target in the region, so that is a big positive. TerminalPortugal
SRI PAHANG (MALAYSIA) SEASON 2138 LIGA SUPER MALAYSIA/PIALA SULTAN HAJI AHMAD SHAH PIALA FA MALAYSIA PIALA MALAYSIA AFC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SQUAD After we lost a few players last season we brought in some replacements which I provided us arguably with an even better side. We had some more players leave again this year and if we were remaining we would need to bolster the side again. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS We managed to repeat the quadruple again this year, actually a lot easier this time, as the league was the easiest we have ever found it and the cups did not provide much challenge for us overall. Unfortunately the Champions League was a step too far for us and we just can't compete with the calibre of club there. We stayed up until the Piala Malaysia which was the final tournament we could win and are leaving not with a league game and Champions League game to go as we had already secured the league and are already out of the Champions League. We have made good progress at Sri Pahang and we leave looking for the final 160 points we need to progress. MAP Map Link SUMMARY
TerminalPortugal
SELANGOR (MALAYSIA) SEASON 2139 When we left Sri Pahang, there was a very open job market in Malaysia and so we would apply to the larger jobs in the country. Johor DT actually rejected us so we settled on Selangor, the third best side in the country currently behind our former side Sri Pahang and Johor DT themselves. I did not realise this until we took over but we were at the latter stages of the AFC Cup and so this was a massive opportunity to end our stay and the whole leg very quickly. AFC CUP SQUAD The squad is decent but not great, if we were staying longer we would certainly need to improve substantially the squad overall. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS Moving to Selangor and getting to end their AFC Cup campaign was pretty lucky really and I didn't even realise until we got the job. It did give us a great opportunity and we were able to take it securing the 200 points and finishing up in AFC9. Now I have also discovered soon after we took over at Sri Pahang that we made an error in how we have been progressing since we moved to India. We skipped one of the legs accidentally. So we will be going back so to speak to complete them, although for all intents and purpose the next leg simply becomes AFC8 although they should have been AFC10. Anyway the next leg AFC8 as we will refer to them consists of Lebanon, Singapore, Vietnam and the Philippines. MAP Map Link SUMMARY
TerminalPortugal
ALBIREX NIIGATA (SINGAPORE) SEASON 2140 We had to wait a while for a job and eventually the job we found was a job I wasn't too sure about but we took it anyway. Albirex Niigata Singapore, the sister side to Japanese side, is on paper one of the best sides in Singapore. However they have very stringent rules on players, where we must play Under 21 players and are limited on players above that age, which is a big hinderance. Secondly they were sitting bottom of the league. There is no relegation so there was no risk of that but I was a little cautious. We took the job anyway and the goal was to get the club up the table with about 8 league fixtures remaining. AIA SINGAPORE PREMIER LEAGUE KOMOCO MOTORS SINGAPORE CUP SQUAD The squad looks better than it is when you consider that of the over 21s we can only register 2 Singaporean and 1 Japanese player, so we have a lot of players that are not registered so it is a bit of a headache. We will have to manage it and the youth intake might become very important to us while we are here. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS We performed quite well after we came in and we managed to get the club up to 3rd place in the league which I believe should give us AFC Cup football next season. We managed to also win the cup which is a nice bonus that I hadn't really accounted for, so at least we start with 40 points in the bank to start the new region. TerminalPortugal
ALBIREX NIIGATA (SINGAPORE) SEASON 2141 AIA SINGAPORE COMMUNITY SHIELD AIA SINGAPORE PREMIER LEAGUE KOMOCO MOTORS SINGAPORE CUP SQUAD We don't really have any option to bring anyone in so the team is the team and this season it has proven itself worthy. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS We had a very good season as we won every domestic tournament. We did not qualify for the AFC Cup, so I am unsure if that is because we are essentially a sister club of a Japanese club and we may not be eligible or what it is. We will stay around another season and then we are likely to move on. MAP Map Link SUMMARY
TerminalPortugal
ALBIREX NIIGATA (SINGAPORE) SEASON 2142 AIA SINGAPORE COMMUNITY SHIELD AIA SINGAPORE PREMIER LEAGUE KOMOCO MOTORS SINGAPORE CUP SQUAD We have no real control of the team, it just depends what youngsters we get and this season has proven that to be a problem. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS An utterly disastrous season for us realistically. No points won as we fluffed every competition we are in. Not a nice way to leave the club but we are leaving and this last season has been a waste. MAP Map Link SUMMARY
TerminalPortugal
KAYA FC (PHILIPPINES) SEASON 2143 We found a new job almost instantaneously and that new job was in the Philippines at Kaya. They were one of the better sides in the country, had just finished in 3rd place and had qualified for the AFC Cup which had been denied us at Albirex despite having won the league and cup in Singapore. I felt this would be a good move for us. PHILIPPINES FOOTBALL LEAGUE PFL CUP AFC CUP SQUAD Our squad has definite gaps within it, but so far for this season we have resisted making any moves and will probably make moves for players in the offseason. The squad itself is good for the Filipino leagues. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS A really good season as we got back on track and we have a really legitimate road to finishing this leg with the as yet unresolved AFC Cup for which we have passed through the Group Stages of and will be proceeding to the knockout rounds in the new year. If we do win that then we will have gotten the 500 points and that will see us move on. If not we will have to rely on a different road to get to the points. TerminalPortugal
KAYA FC (PHILIPPINES) SEASON 2144 AFC CUP SQUAD We had a takekover with some investment into the club, initially it was annoying because the embargo seemed to go on forever, but eventually they gave us additional funds and we went out and really splashed the cash at least in the context of the Filipino league and poached a few players from some of the other top clubs. We also brought in some better international players where we could and really we now have the best side in the country. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS We knew that the latter stages of the AFC Cup which would start in the early part of this new season would be our ticket, if we could get through it, and we actually got handed a pretty tough road facing Chinese opposition on the way and Dhofar whom we remember from our days in Oman as a tough side to beat but we managed it without too much issue, reinforced with the transfer activity that we had done over the offseason. We leave AFC8 behind, having gone back for them after we accidentally skipped them and move on to AFC7 which consists of Australia, Uzbekistan and Syria. TerminalPortugal
MACARTHUR FC (AUSTRALIA) SEASON 2144-45 We had to wait a little while and eventually a job came up in the A-League at Macarthur FC. They were sitting in 7th place outside the playoffs and our job was to see if we could push up the league and see if we could get into the playoff places. We were out of every other competition so the focus was the league. A-LEAGUE SQUAD We have a decent squad but it is tough in Australia with the budgetary restrictions and that will make it difficult to really improve the side much. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS We had a bit of fairy tale ride, as we managed to get into the playoffs and then we just rode on and took the Grand Final winning 6-0, and that is our first 100 points. TerminalPortugal
MACARTHUR FC (AUSTRALIA) SEASON 2145/46 AFC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE A-LEAGUE AUSTRALIA CUP SQUAD We made one signing in bringing in Dadi Ivarsson, which is the only player that we could be sure we could register, The team is fine but about the sixth best in Australia. MANAGER PROFILE MANAGER THOUGHTS In the league we were a bit crap at times as we lost a series of games mid season which is probably the worst run I have had at any club so far in this save, but we came back and were able to get performances. We won the Australia Cup early in the season, and we won the AFC Champions League which ultimately is why we leave before the playoffs end in Australia. We had some mad results in the AFC Champions League and it was a bit surprising to be able to get all the way to the final and perform as well as we did. With AFC7 done we move on to AFC6 which consists of South Korea, Iran and Thailand. MAP Map Link SUMMARY
