Looks worse with every replay.

Yes, I didn't even see the left foot the first time as I was only watching the right. Definitely a pen and red.

Goal difference could be all important in the race for third place qualifiers too

Not sure that'll be much of Scotlands concern, might be refunds on hotels and an earlier flight home, instead.

Such an awful challenge. Looked awful in real time too, amazing the ref didn't give a red straight away.

There was quite a lot happening tbf

Would have been incredible but would have to leave out Foden, Saka or Bellingham.

Not a difficult choice really, he frequently plays on the left and he’s a much better player than Foden is at international level.

Can someone explain to me when did the rule of penalty takers not being allowed to make a full stop change?

These run-ups are beyond ridiculous.

It's a bit silly but I guess he didn't actually *stop* just slowed down at the end a lot

Absolutely dismal performance. Such a lack of quality at the back and the tactic of sitting mega deep and hoofing it up to a lone striker has proved to be completely useless, unsurprisingly.

Havertz stopped before shooting. Should have been disallowed.

It's almost like you haven't watched any penalties in the last few years.

Almost like the rules were changed last year to prevent a stop or feint

They became more lenient towards takers over time.

But started nitpicking goalkeepers for every step off the line.

Either make it that takers aren't allowed to change run-up speed once they start moving or allow goalkeepers to step off the line in their 5m area.

This is completely unfair.

Matterface saying they should go for broke because h2h is the separator and GD doesn’t matter

It’s only the separator between 2nd and 3rd in the group. But if you’re this bad then you’re probably looking at finishing in 3rd place in your group at best. In which case GD against the other 3rd place teams is REALLY key. Scotland better off shutting up shop and just hoping it doesn’t get any worse.

Frustrating game obviously - and annoying that Clarke got it so wrong in our setup. Germany have had all the ball anyway, but when they haven't they've just put 2 men around McGregor (who has subsequently not had a touch) and stopped us playing through the middle. Distribution from Gunn, Porteous and Hendry was so poor from the start and made it easy for them. McGinn and Christie barely touched the ball.

Actually thought Clarke made the right decision changing from the 5-4-1 to a 5-3-2 after about half an hour, but it's pointless now after the red card.

Wish we'd been braver from the start tbh.

I'm not sure if you already knew this, but Matterface is a complete moron.

He's set up to keep the score down, or nick a point with luck. For the reasons outlined above re: 3rd place. Which in theory is fine but the execution has been quite ****

Yeah, but that goes out of the window as soon you as you go behind, and we've done nothing differently since they opened the scoring. Grim stuff.
