Merino was very young, tbf. As far as I know, he has been great since returning to Spain. Joselu's improvement was so random.

He was great for us too to be fair. Rafa knew a player. Ayoze was really good for us too overall so I’m happy to see him doing well. Joselu’s rise is completely bemusing though.

It is bizarre than Merino got injured and then Jonjo Shelvey and Mo Diamé both had the biggest purple patches of their career to keep him out of the team for 6 months though .
