That looked exactly like the Pepe tackle from earlier.

Of which we curiously saw zero repetitions, by the way

If you scroll back through the first round of games, Pompeyboyz actually beat Hilly because he voted for himself :D

I hate how often challenges like the one on Bernardo just there get given as fouls. It's such an easy way out for the defending team when they're backed into a corner and it's very rarely a foul.

They don't have another tested option at LB.

Leao is the biggest waste of talent in modern football. Such a lazy, inconsistent player.

cancelo or dalot can always switch tbf, nuno seems similar to cancelo at least in this set up.

Leao is like rashford, they're explosive on their day but wavy in games, if the ball is to them constantly, they WILL do something or be a massive threat.

Five yellows already. There's a red coming soon, surely?

Pretty sure. The turkish players dont seem to be able to cope with the result and vent their frustration through aggression.

PERMUTATIONS: An outright winner here clinches top spot in the group with a game to spare. A draw gets them both to the four-point target everyone is chasing. But in this group it also leaves open the possibility that all four teams finish on the same number of points. So four points after two games doesn’t guarantee you at least a third place finish here, like it would in most of the other groups. Either of these sides could have four points after two games but still finish bottom.

Is this true? Could be an interesting choice.

Turkey ought to just write the rest of this game off.

They don't really need anything from it.  If it goes to five or six their GD might kill them in terms of them being able to get through as a best third place team.

Yeah, Group F is the last group to finish.

So Turkey/Czech will go into their last game against each other on three points each.  And they will know the rest of the 'bracket' and it might be the case that being the best 3rd place team actually gives you an easier draw than being the runner-up.

Although if they set out to lose Turkey could end up bottom... if Portugal rest players against Georgia and then Georgia win.

they can just keep playing and back themselves to get a point against Czech Republic?

True, but at the moment four points doesn't necessarily guarantee you a R16 place.

There could be five or even six third-place teams on four points and then GD still comes into play.

That is unlikely though to be fair... to get the 3rd place team on four points from Group B we would need Albania to beat Spain.  And to get the 3rd place team on four points from Group C we would need Slovenia to beat England AND the Denmark-Serbia game to finish with an outright winner.

How come football players don't look like they sweat much these days? :D

Everyone looks so dry out there. The sweatiest person is probably Roberto Martiez and his shiny bald head.

Wait until you see Belgium tonight. Their shirts were drenched during the Slovakia game.

So we're talking fabric choices?

To a point. Most modern football kits handle the sweat well (to use a technical term :p), but you still have some poor-quality 'wetlook' shirts like the ones Aston Villa had a year or two ago.

I thought that was odd to say as well. Surely Benfica are bigger?

They are called Sporting Club de Portugal :brock:

Though if you'd ask me I would think it was their arch-rivals, Benfica, who are the biggest club in Portugal.

They surely have more domestic titles and supporters but the biggest is FC Porto,, alone we have 7 international titles, Sporting CP and benfica have 3 together! :onmehead:
