Makoto Nakamura
Welcome to Montenegro, a country where I must admit, I know very little about. One of UEFA's newest countries after splitting from Serbia in 2006 but with a footballing history going back far further than that. Starting in 1922 with the Montenegrin Football Championship where the first final saw SK Crnogorac Cetinje defeat the club of this save, FK Lovćen Cetinje 3-0 in the final, after this SK Crnogorac Cetinje won the next two titles before FK Lovćen Cetinje won the Spring & Autumn 1925 title, the Spring 1927 title, the Autumn 1928 title and finally the 1935 title. Admittedly during the 1922-1940 period of the Montenegrin Football Championship FK Lovćen were actually the team with the 3rd most amount of wins (5) but the teams ahead of them SK Crnogorac Cetinje (10) & GSK Balšić Podgorica (7) no longer exist, which brings us to FK Lovćen Cetinje, a club which other than a 3rd tier title in 2007 and a Kup Crne Gore (The Montenegrin equivalent of the FA Cup) victory in 2014 has not seen domestic triumph in 89 years. My job is to change that and to make FK Lovćen Cetinje the supreme team in Montenegro again, surpassing the records set by FK Budućnost Podgorica & FK Sutjeska Nikšić in the league and FK Rudar Pljevlja in the cup. FK Lovćen Cetinje have currently had one European 'campaign' where they lost 1-0 on aggregate to Bosnian side FK Željezničar Sarajevo in the 2014/15 Europa League 1st Qualifying Round so any win in continental will be a new club record. Montenegro is also part of a select club to have never had a club make it to any continental group stage (No, I'm not counting the Intertoto Cup). The furthest Montenegrin clubs have gotten is FK Zeta, a club currently in the 3rd tier of Montenegrin football making it all the way to the 2012/13 Europa League playoffs after beating Armenian side Pyunik Yerevan 4-2, Finnish side JJK Jyväskylä 3-3 on away goals and Bosnian side FK Sarajevo 2-2 on away goals. They were then destroyed 14-0 on aggregate by PSV. We'll try and change that with the final aim being to win the Champions League. We even have an all-time league table which just shows how far ahead the top clubs are! I won't be trying to do an in-game version of this, but as you can see we start out in 10th on the all time table. Next post we'll meet the squad, talk about the database and league rules. Makoto Nakamura
How dare you not mention our success from the 1920's! The board want promotion playoffs after a 9th place (out of 10) finish last season. No pressure. 10,200 followers with just 1 season ticket holder? Talk about armchair fans. The squad is actually alright? Which is good considering we're just £57 below our weekly wage budget. There are no glaring weaknesses but the squad is a bit old with an average age of 28. Here are the best players: The Montenegrin Structure: It's really rather simple, 10 teams in each league playing each other four times. The difficult part is the tough foreigner restrictions. In my league the match squad can have no more than three foreigners in it. In the top tier this changes...to four foreigners in the match squad and no more than three in the starting eleven. It also takes five years to gain Montenegrin nationality so it could be better, could be worse. We're going to have to rely on local lads if we're to get anywhere then! Leagues Loaded: It's just the top two Montenegrin tiers loaded as playable, the entirety of Europe's 54 nations loaded as view only with a database of 69,000. All players from or in Montenegro are loaded as well as all players from top division clubs in Europe and current internationals & players from clubs in continental competitions in all six continents. Makoto Nakamura
2023/24 Pre-Season Definitely not too shabby of a pre-season! We have no players for a second eleven so they were destroyed. We picked up three wins against top tier opposition! Arsenal (T) are predicted 6th, Petrovac 4th and Jedinstevo (BP) 5th which, I know it's just pre-season but gives me hope against the opposition we're due to face. We finished up with another demolition, this time against our feeder club, 3rd tier side Cetinje. Despite this our odds have actually dropped and we're now predicted in 4th, outside the playoff places. With finances being tight we only made one signing, Miro comes in from 3rd tier side Petnjica on a non-contract basis, earning £40 per appearance. Makoto Nakamura
August 2023 Looks like our pre-season wasn't a fluke after all! I say three games into a 36 game season. Still we've managed to grab a quarter final spot in the cup after a tense shoot-out defeating Decic who are predicted 2nd in the top tier! In other news we definitely won't be the first side to make a European group stage as Buducnost have qualified for the Conference League groups after beating Flora from Estonia, Atletic Escaldes from Andorra & KI from the Faroe Islands. Makoto Nakamura
September 2023 A manic seven game month, but what can you expect when you have to fit in 36 games in a league which is on a winter break from late November to early March? We've been on top in every single game so far which is a massive surprise to me and we're already ten points clear!

I had a brief journey in the Japanese lower leagues but couldn't get a connection to the club so here we are! 2 hours ago, MarvinnBiggs said: Would love to see the tactic that you've engaged with for this save! Are you able to share? @Makoto Nakamura Noticed that you've been using the 3-5-3 system, but never fully understood your setup on that one. Cannot wait to see the updates on this save! Sure thing Marvinn, I've been using the same formation throughout FM24 and it hasn't really done me wrong yet! And thanks, I'm actually looking forward to this save, it's going to be a good one! Makoto Nakamura
October 2023 Well that's rather annoying! Yes we were bound to lose soon, but away to the team that we beat 8-0 at home? When their xG was 1.41 and ours was 4.11? It could have gone better. But despite this we are top of all the charts and still have a great nine point lead at the top of the table. Rikulec
Good to see you back, and good luck with your save!
Makoto Nakamura
November 2023 A big cup upset as we manage to qualify for the semi final after an extra time win over Sutjeska which sees us drawn against Buducnost where our run will surely end! In the league things are still going well although, for the first time, we were outplayed away at 2nd placed Kom but we still hold our nine point league going into the winter break, our next competitive game is March 6th! Makoto Nakamura
2024 Winter Transfer Window Well we lost Miro Korac, he started one game and made eight sub appearances but neither scored nor assisted...so he's going to Arsenal (T) in the tier above us. The DoF made three signings filling two of out three matchday foreign players, even if one of them is only in on loan. As well as this we also had our youth preview...which is grim viewing. Makoto Nakamura
March is a month with eight games in so it would be a good idea for everyone to make it through the month, but after the first game? Ah. Oh dear.
The7Striker
What kind of fraud is this? How is it not a Youth Only?
Makoto Nakamura
7 minutes ago, The7Striker said: What kind of fraud is this? How is it not a Youth Only? I do like signing players! But with the tight league restrictions it's going to have to be rather youth oriented!
Makoto Nakamura
March 2024 Hah! Well it turns out we managed quite well with the injuries, in fact we couldn't have managed any better! Eight wins in a row extends our lead to fourteen points but we're now a whopping thirty points inside the playoff spots with ten games still remaining, I think we can safely say that we'll meet expectations! We also managed to break records this month!
Makoto Nakamura
2023/24 Youth Candidates Well this was not a turnout for the books, and is a very good excuse to not be doing a youth only challenge. A rubbish first intake!
Makoto Nakamura
April 2024 Typical! Our title win is confirmed and the lads really take the foot off the pedal although I must say that we were rather unlucky against Berane! We have managed to break more records though!
Makoto Nakamura
At least there's a slight chance that next seasons youth intake may not be quite so dire!
Makoto Nakamura
2023/24 Kup Crne Gore Final It ended up being an all second tier final! And one which we had wrapped up by half time, which means one thing... We have European competition next season! £30,000 for a cup win.
Makoto Nakamura
2023/24 End of Season Review Double winners in the first season, easily promoted as champions and we'll have both Kom & Bokelj joining us in the top tier next season as well! 2023/24 Best XI Jovan Perović Danilo Bracanović - Matija Pejović - Marko Draganić Ilija Radunović - Miloš Pejaković - Luka Bojić - Igor Marković Vuk Milačić - Bojan Otašević - Božidar Bujiša

Makoto Nakamura
2024/25 Pre-Season Pre-season is not long in Montenegro as our first league game is July 20th but we managed to squeeze in a couple of friendlies before a surprise win over Icelandic side Ungmennafélagið Breiðablik in the Conference League sets us up with another tough matchup against Belarussians Dinamo Brest. We do not have great odds, so the aim is survival. We did manage to sign some players, thankfully, since we lost a few!
Makoto Nakamura
July 2024 We're not looking likely to cause an upset in the Conference League, which is okay because the winner faces FC Utrecht in the next round! In the league we've had a good start where we need to stop the count because we're up in 2nd! We've also signed two more strikers.
Makoto Nakamura
August 2024 Well, we managed to beat Dinamo Brest in the home leg! Unfortunately we did lose 9-7 on aggregate, and then they got hammered 6-0 by FC Utrecht in the next round. In the league everything is going swimmingly with us hitting the dizzy heights of top spot after the opening six games as well as having a cup quarter final against Mornar to look forward too. We've put that Conference League money to good use! And we finished up with two more signings before the transfer window closed.
Makoto Nakamura
September 2024 Our amazing start has come to a quick end as defeat away at Mornar knocks us off top spot and down to 3rd, we're still doing far better than I'd hoped though!
Makoto Nakamura
October 2024 We briefly hit top sot again! But the league is decided on head-to-head and we've lost to both Mornar & Buducnost now . We've also made it to the Cup Semi Final where we'll be facing Buducnost again.
Makoto Nakamura
November 2024 Montenegro is the only country I've noticed where every club in the league (apart from us) have the same colour logos, what's with all the blue and white? Anyway, we manage an almost perfect month and we re-take the top of the table!
Makoto Nakamura
December 2024 Eight points clear as we enter the winter break and the halfway point of the season, amazing stuff! Another nice upgrade! Hopefully this has a bit more potential than last season.
Makoto Nakamura
February 2025 We're back in action! Unfortunately it's with two narrow defeats but we're still just about holding on to top spot with a game in hand, not that I expect us to hold on. Just the one signing in the winter window, a backup DM. We have arranged for three players to join us at the start of next season though. Upgrades complete!
Makoto Nakamura
2024/25 Youth Candidates Poor personalities but we have a few potential first team players here!
Makoto Nakamura
March 2025 We ended up losing four games in a row but then three big wins mean we're still top of the table with nine games remaining!
Makoto Nakamura
April 2025 So we won the first leg of the semi final 3-2 aet, and managed to lose 5-4 on aggregate on what I can only presume is the fact that only goals in the first 90 minutes count. We've had a poor month and with three left to play I can safely say that we've conceded the title to Buducnost, a title that I feel would've been far, far too soon anyway! Makoto Nakamura
2024/25 End of Season Review A great season for us on every level, I don't think the gulf in quality is there really, Kom got promoted with us and managed to finish up in 3rd, it's just Bokelj that really struggled! Now we'll have to re-group, strengthen, and go again next season! We already have three new players waiting in the wings and we're losing our starting GK due to retiring. Roll on 2025/26! Overall Best XI 2024/25 Best XI Jovan Perović Aleksa Damjanac - Nemanja Božović - Marko Draganić Ilija Radunović - Miloš Pejaković - Marko Đukanović - Yeami Dunia Valentin Rudović - Ljubomir Kovačević - Božidar Bujiša
Makoto Nakamura
2025/26 Pre-Season Three big wins to kick start our season and a nice 4-2 aggregate win to send us through in the Conference League! Where we face a Liechtenstein team that isn't Vaduz!! We're predicted a place higher than last season. A good transfer window so far, we've had to sign two keepers due to losing our 1st and 2nd choice at the end of last season.
Makoto Nakamura
July 2025 A massive 9-1 aggregate win over Eschen/Mauren and two wins from two to start the season what more could I ask?! Looks like this is where our run will end! Nobody else has joined us but we've made our first cash sale!
Makoto Nakamura
August 2025 Another busy month and we came so, so close to upsetting Maccabi Tel-Aviv, we had not one, but two goals disallowed! Whilst in the league we gave Jedinstvo (BP) their first win of the season in an eleven goal thriller but we've still started excellently and have found ourselves in another cup quarter final! Our French youth goalie goes out on loan and we bring back Deni, who played for us way back in the day. The Conference League money is being put to good use! I also reached my first 100 games! And the first player from the academy got called up for the U19's, it's been a manic month!
Makoto Nakamura
September 2025 An expected loss away at Buducnost but three big wins at home without conceding a goal and it keeps us with a very nice goal difference and five clear of 3rd placed Jedinstvo.
Makoto Nakamura
October 2025 A perfect month! We're through to face second tier side Jezero in the Kup Crne Gore Semi Final and we're ahead of Buducnost in the table for the time being!
Makoto Nakamura
November 2025 We deserved better, Mornar equalised in the 91st minute and Buducnost in the 93rd. Surprisingly, even with a poor month, Buducnost haven't been entirely able to capitalise on our struggles!
Makoto Nakamura
December 2025 Two away games and two away wins but Buducnost managed to win their games in hand and so they have hit the top of the table as we enter the winter break. An upgrade completed! And potential for an excellent intake!
Makoto Nakamura
January 2026 Two join us in the winter transfer window. And our youth facilities were upgraded!

Makoto Nakamura
March 2026 A defeat to Mornar but we remain hot on Buducnost's tail and a masive fifteen points clear of 3rd placed Petrovac with eight games remaining!
