joshmay07
I know you can manage the senior team and the u21 but it would be good if you could be appointed as only u21 manager at international level ? what do you think ?
Giarc Ronyag
yup, i agree, would be a nice addition, although I think it would be the FA's choice, but maybe a selection to choose from like you would with feeder clubs.
joshmay07
this came to me after in my current save england fired everyone and re shuffled and i failed to get the senior team and was like i wish i could go for U21 instead !
ftg87
You can choose to the U21 manager at the beginning of the game or when adding a new manager, but I'm not sure it's possible to be appointed to the job
joshmay07
how ? please
Death.
I found out last night you can manage Real Madrid's reserve team, Castilla, which i thought was pretty cool. This is a similar thing i suppose. You should be able to manage the U-21's (if you can't already) as that's a management role in football.
Nick Toye
Well I agree with this. I actually think that you should be appointed as Academy Manager at club level first, and then work your way up.
4457
At international level, I believe it is possible to be appointed to the u21 job. I'm opposed to it at club level.
Dale Gribble
I was appointed England's under 20 manager in FM08, I can't see any reason why they would possibly take it out for 09.
joshmay07
how to you apply for the under 21 roles !
Stormz
At the start of the game, when you are asked to select your club, got to 'nations', click (don't select' England, click on 'England U21's', click 'Manage Club'
Death.
At international level, I believe it is possible to be appointed to the u21 job. I'm opposed to it at club level. What is the reason for that?
joshmay07
Dam thats sucks that you cannot take control of under 21 teams at international level during the game unless you have 2 differnt people " New Manager " that is balls lol Si this should be implimented so you can apply to be under 21 manager like any normal job
4457
What is the reason for that? Because this is Football Manager, not Football Reserve Coach. If you allow that, to what level do you drop? Football Coach? Football Physio?

joshmay07
You can get offered the u21 national job, but applying for it as it stands is not possible. Ah so it depends if the country's FA want you well we can hope
Ozzy38
I know you can manage the senior team and the u21 but it would be good if you could be appointed as only u21 manager at international level ? You already can. However, offers are very rare. I'd guess that they're about as rare as getting your own 'son', which is 1 in 10,000.
Neji
I wouldn't say it is that rare. If you do well at a reasonable level ie CCC or EPL (for England) then they do offer. I even got the Italy u21 job offered to be as I was managing in Italy (as an Englishman).
ssestig
Have you got a screenie Neji? I'm not saying you're lying but i'll like to see it's possible if you can.
Neji
Unfortunately not, it was quite a few in game years ago and I didn't accept it, so I have no history of it.

Death.
Because this is Football Manager, not Football Reserve Coach. If you allow that, to what level do you drop? Football Coach? Football Physio? But how is that different to international management at U-21 level? In both cases you are still coaches, yet you lose the ability to "manage" the other aspects of that if you were a club manager. And in that respect, your only a "coach" if you manage the senior national side as well, rather than a manager. Rafa Benitez started his career as coach of Real Madrid's reserve team, so i can see it to be relevant.
bored101
i would be opposed to reserve and under 18 manager but then i supose that could be a good way to start out with no experienced but dont know if that would work. im all for international under 21 managment posistions though. never knew you could start as one so might try that one out. Scotty Walds
I believe you can be offered age-restriced national jobs if someone who you have befriended gets the senior job...
