Matt8
Hmmmm.... Straight red card for accidentally coming out of your area when you catch the ball. Surely not right.
Glenn Wakeford
It depends on the situation and the referee. It's a valid red card a lot of the time.
Matt8
Well, considering there were no opposing players in my half... Accidental hand ball is only a yellow.
hamilton162
Yeah, it is a law of football that if the goalie handles outside his area he is given a straight red card. Unless he is carried out of his area by his momentum, in which case he will only reccieve a yellow card. Hope that helps
DaveDaveDave
My keeper just got a yellow for it. IRL I'd expect a red though.
JoeLatics
It's right, whether it's deliberate or not, it's handball by the keeper. He should have dropped it as he was sliding out.
cris182
if there were no opponents in the half there is no need to handball, he can let the ball bounce so i say straight red is valid
BillyMysterio
Accident or not it's against the rules. And one of the rules that pretty much whatever the referee it's a red.
Campbell1892
Yeah they deserve red card for doing that based on their stupidity understanding rules
Scotty Walds
Well, considering there were no opposing players in my half...Accidental hand ball is only a yellow. Accidental hand ball is not a free kick
wrightinio
This happened to me and my keeper got a straight red. Didn't complain however, as it is actually the law of the game.
Dalimyr
This sort of thing always reminds me of Gregory Coupet a few years ago jumping up to catch a ball in a crowd, and he ended up outside the box...but he had his hands off to his side so that while he was quite clearly out of the box, the ball was still in the area.
