This leaves me 2nd in the group with 16 points, 2 points behind Croatia, but Croatia have a game in hand away at Belarus. Ukraine are on 9 points, with a game in hand, and Belarus are on 8 points with two games in hand.

Rest of Champ. league: Arsenal, Man Utd + Spurs.

Europa cup: Aston Villa, Liverpool

FA Cup: Arsenal.

League cup: Man Utd.

Community shield: Portsmouth.

Relegated: Bolton, Wigan + Hull. (Doesn't bring me too many extra options).

Championship Winners: Swansea, Promoted: Ipswich and playoff's Wolves.

Relegated: Plymouth, Watford and Charlton.

League 1 Winners: Carlisle. Promoted: Scunthorpe and Playoff's Leeds.

Relegated: Swindon, Cheltenham, Stockport + Hereford.

The survival from relegation of West Ham was a little dissapointing for me and Wolves going up add's to that. My FIFA ranking is a new record low for England previously 27th (under Terry Venables i believe) we are now 31st which gives us another 5 points.

I did get a little bad news Elliott Ward got injured in a training session and i tried to call up Sol Campbell has a replacement (recently signed for Carlisle) but he didn't want to play 2nd fiddle and refused i wont be giving him a 2nd chance.

The Non-Premier League England Challenge

Squad:

The Dead Certs

GK Richard Wright- Age 30 Caps 2

Played for: Arsenal, Ipswich and West Ham

After losing his status as "the next Seaman" during a disasterous sepll at Arsenal, Wright has re-establised himself at former club Ipswich. Undoubtly the first choice keeper.

Defenders

Liam Ridgewell-Age 23 caps 0

Played For: Aston Villa and Birmingham

Ridgewell has had premier experience first at Villa, and then as captain of Midlands rivals Birmingham. One of the players who stayed put after relegation, Ridgewell could slot straight into a premiership side

Midfielders

David Beckham- Caps 102 Goals 17

Played For: Man United, Real Madrid, Milan and Los Angeles

Becks now looks likely to not only take the captaincy back, but to pass Sir Bobby moore's outfield record. One of the few players who is "gifted".

England Squad V Croatia:

GKs: Richard Wright, Nicky Weaver and Paul Smith

Defenders: David Murphy, Richard Stearman, Roger Johnson, Liam Ridgewell,(VC) Matt Killgallon, Elliot Ward and Lee Naylor

Midfielders: David Beckham (C), Andrew Driver, Scott Sinclair (On Loan), Michael Kightly, Marvin Elliot, Fabien Delph, Luke Varney, James Harper and Brian Howard

Strikers: Gary McSheffrey, Kevin Phillips, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Matt Derbyshire (On Loan)

20th August 2008

Wembley

England 1-1 Croatia

(Beckham 58), Plasil (78)

England: (5-4-1) Wright, Stearman. Wright (Sub Surman), Ridgewell, R.Johnson, Kilgallon, Beckham ©, Elliot (Sub Bowyer), Sinclair (Sub Driver), Harper, Ebanks-Blake (Sub Derbyshire)

Post-Match Notes: A good performance in a game we expectd to lose. Beckham has established himself as the key man and manage to force the ball home. to give us the lead. However, we dosed off, and backed off Plasil, who caught the ball sweetly from 30 yards. Still, we can take positives out of the game.

England Squad V Andorra and Croatia

GKs: Richard Wright, Nicky Weaver and Paul Smith

Defenders: David Murphy, Richard Stearman, Roger Johnson, Liam Ridgewell,(VC) Matt Killgallon, Ben Tozer and Lee Naylor

Midfielders: David Beckham (C), Andrew Driver, Scott Sinclair (On Loan), Michael Kightly, Marvin Elliot, Fabien Delph, James Harper and Brian Howard

Strikers: Gary McSheffrey, Kevin Phillips, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Febain Brendy and Matt Derbyshire (On Loan)

6th September 2008

Barcelona

Andorra 0-3 England

(Beckham 4), Howard (9), Brendy (38)

England (4-4-2) R.Wright, Stearman, D.Wright, Ridgewell, R.Johnson, Beckham © (Sub Sincalir 28), Howard (MoM), Harper, Driver (Sub McSheffrey 68), Brendy, Derbyshire

Post-Match Notes: A great match for us, started by one of David's trademark free-kicks. He went off with a knock, and we're hoping he'll be okay for Wednesday. Brian Howard and Fabien Brendy deserve special mention. Winning their first caps, they weren't overwelmed by the occasion and managed to bag a goal each. This game has given the lads a lot of confidence, with such an important game coming up on Wednesday against Croatia.

5 POINTS

9th September 2008

Croatia

Croatia 2-0 England

Srna (40), Petric (50)

England (5-4-1) R.Wright, Stearman, D.Wright, Ridgewell, R.Johnson, Kilgallon, Beckham ©, Howard, Harper, Driver, Brendy (Sub McSheffery 58)

Post-Match Notes: We played well today, and it was silly mistakes that cost us. Firstly, David Murphy allowed Dario Srna to get round the back of him, and then Matt Kilgallon took the ball off Richard Wright's toes and gave it straight to Petric. earlier, Andy Driver went one-on-one with the keeper and hit the post, I can't help but think that if that one had gone in, things could of been different. Matt came down with food poisoning , so Fab had to lead the line on his own. He did a good job, but didn't get the support he needed. Next up is Kazakhstan, a gme we must win.

England Squad V Kazakhstan and Belarus

GKs: Richard Wright, Nicky Weaver and Joe Lewis

Defenders: David Murphy, Richard Stearman, Roger Johnson, Liam Ridgewell(VC),Jack Cork (On Loan), Ben Tozer and Lee Naylor

Midfielders: David Beckham (C), Andrew Driver, Scott Sinclair (On Loan), Michael Kightly, Marvin Elliot, Fabien Delph, James Harper and Brian Howard

Strikers: Gary McSheffrey,Aaron Mclean, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Febain Brendy and Matt Derbyshire (On Loan)

11th October 2008

Wembley

England 6-0 Kazakhstan

Ebanks-Blake (27,60), Derbyshire (44,90+3), Driver (48), Beckham (55)

England(4-4-2)- R.Wright, Stearman, D.Wright, Johnson, Ridgewell, Beckham ©, Driver (sub 62 Sinclair, Beckham ©, Howard (Sub 62 Elliot), Harper, Ebanks-Blake, Derbyshire

Post-Match Notes: It was a magnificent day for all of us, our biggest win yet. Everything clicked into place perfectly, and we got our reward. We decided to give Ebanks-Balke his chance after impressing in the Championship for Wolves, and he did not dissapoint. He joins a host of players queing up for the striker slot, which is always good to see. I still believe that qualifictaion is reachable, but our last competitive match of 2008, against Belarus, will be an important one.

Man of The Match: Sylvan Ebanks-Blake

15th October 2008

Dinamo Stadium

Belarus 1-1 England

Kutuzov (24), Driver (84)

England 4-4-2: R.Wright, Stearman, D.Wright, Johnson, Ridgewell, Beckham ©, Driver, Harper, Bowyer (Sub Coppinger 70), Ebanks-Blake (sub Sinclair 78), Derbyshire

Post-Match Notes: This game was a dissapointment, although it did move us up to second in the table. The first goal was a dissapointment, Roger Johnson just lost his man and he went on to pick the ball up and score. We pushed, but didn't look like scoring until the 84th minute when Andy smashed the ball home to earn us a vital point. It's over for this season, but a friendly against Germany next month will allow me to give some fringe players a chance

England Squad V Germany
GKs: Richard Wright, Paul Smith and Joe Lewis

Defenders: David Murphy, Richard Stearman, Roger Johnson, Liam Ridgewell(VC),Jack Cork (On Loan), Ben Tozer and Lee Naylor

Midfielders: Chris Eagles, Andrew Driver, Scott Sinclair (On Loan), Michael Kightly, Marvin Elliot, Fabien Delph and Brian Howard

Strikers: Gary McSheffrey,Victor Moses, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Febain Brendy and Matt Derbyshire (On Loan)

Wednesday 19th November 2008

Olimpiastadion

Germany 1-1 England

lange (55), Coppinger (81)

England (5-4-1) R.Wright, Stearman, Surman (Sub D.Wright 45), Ridgewell, Tozer, M.Taylor (Sub Johnson 45), Kightly (Sub Moses 45), Elliot (Sub Coppinger 45), Delph (Sub Cork 45), Driver, Derbshire (Sub Sincalir 45)

Post-Match Notes: I was happy with this result, particularly since Beckham and Harper were both out. Our second string showed good resilliance after holding off numerous German attacks, and then showed they could turn it up when Coppinger got his debut goal for England.

Man Of The Match: Martin Taylor

Squad V Spain

GKs: Richard Wright, Scott Loach and Nicky weaver

Defenders: Chris Cohen, Jack Hobbs (On Loan), Richard Stearman, Roger Johnson, Liam Ridgewell(VC),Jack Cork (On Loan), and Lee Naylor

Midfielders: David Beckham (C), Andrew Driver, Scott Sinclair (On Loan), Michael Kightly, Marvin Elliot, Fabien Delph and Brian Howard

Strikers: Victor Moses, Jon Stead, Craig Mackail-Smith, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, and Matt Derbyshire (On Loan)

Analysis: Chris Cohen, Scott Loach, Craig Mackial-Smith and Jack Hobbs all won first call-ups as Engalnd were forced to ring changes. Beckham would have to sit out due to suspension, and January had saw Ben Tozer move to Newcastle and Fabien Brendy go back to United. Full-back David Murphy, an integral part of the team, picked up an injury along with team-mate McSheffrey.

11th February 2009

Sevilla

Spain 3-1 England

Torres (25&60), Fabregas (42), M.Taylor (45+1)

England (5-4-1) R.Wright(Loach 45), Stearman, Surman (Cohen 45), M.Taylor, Ridgewell, Hobbs (Johnson 45), Kightly (Sincair 45), Driver, Harper, Howard (Elliot 45), Derbyshire (Stead 45)

Post-Match Analysis: We were totally outclassed by a far better Spanish, it's got to be said. The defence failed to deal with Torres' pace meanwhile none of our strikers posed any threat. Credit to both keepers for making some vital stops. We must re-group for a vital Ukraine game on April's fools day.

England Man Of The Match: Martin Taylor-Was solid again and managed to bag a goal in the process.

England Squad V Ukraine

GKs: Richard Wright, Scott Loach and Nicky weaver

Defenders: Dvaid Murphy, Jack Hobbs (On Loan), Richard Stearman, Richard Hines, Liam Ridgewell(VC),Jack Cork (On Loan), and Lee Naylor

Midfielders: David Beckham (C), Andrew Driver, Scott Sinclair (On Loan), Michael Kightly, Marvin Elliot, Fabien Delph and Brian Howard

Strikers: Victor Moses, Leroy Lita, Craig Mackail-Smith, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, and Matt Derbyshire (On Loan)

Analysis: Johnson and Stead are out for the season, so Hines and Henderson come in to replace them. David Murphy regains his place from Cohen

4th April 209

Wembley

England 2-1 Ukraine

Ebanks-Blake (31), Howard Pen (40), Shevchenko (81)

England: 4-4-2 diamond Loach, Stearman, D.Murphy, Taylor, Ridgewell ©, Harper, Driver, Kightly, Howard, Ebanks-Blake, Derbyshire (Mackail-Smith 71)

Post-Match Notes :What an important win! It means that Ukraine are now three points behind us, albeit with a game in hand. We dominated the game and I felt our lead was deserved. Sylvan was back in the goals again and Howard showed he had nerves of steel by comfortably slotting the ball home. Shevchenko made the last 10 minutes nervy ones, but I felt that today we showed just how good we can be. By Kazakhstan, we will know who will be leaving us and who will be joining us!

End Of season Report:

Star Men- David Murphy- The full-back was rock solid, constantly working hard and often helping out the attack on the overlap. A great player

David Beckham- We step up a level when David plays. he is at the forefront of everything, and has been brillaint in his old role. Magnficent.

Brian Howard- No-one would of expected this man to of been a key man come the end of theseason, but football is a funny game, and Howard has proved many wrong. He injects energy and creativity into the side as well as having a wicked right foot that could burst the net. Under-rated

My Impressions-No longer are Engalnd a great footballing side. We have to work hard for every goal, and nothing ever seems pretty. But we work hard and have a solid defence, making us difficult to break down. It's important that we bring the flash teams "down to our level".

My European Qualifying group is - ENGLAND, Faroe Islands, Greece, Israel, Latvia, Luxembourg, Slovenia and Wales.

Ivory Coast vs ENGLAND (Friendly)

Only 5 players in the squad were not given the "45 minutes" instruction by their club manager, so these players had to start as you are only allowed 6 subs per match. Also Alan Smith and Michael Kightly got signed by Hull in the January transfer window so are now ineligible for this challenge.

Line Up (4-4-2):

Wright (Ipswich)

Beckham (LA Galaxy), Lallana (Southampton), Muamba (Bolton), Cook (QPR)

Full time: Ivory Coast 1-1 ENGLAND Moore (pen 72)

Ivory Coast dominated the game, but biggest threat was from long shots. One of these long shots eventually ended up in the back of the net to get a deserved late equaliser.
