******ANNOUNCEMENT******

I'll keep this short and sweet because I could go on for hours about this brilliant game, but I will save you all from some reading icon_smile.gif

The announcement is one that members of EFB of course already know as I've spoken with them about it.

I've had to come to a very difficult decision regarding my EFB activities, basically, the annoucement is that I have left EFB.

Don't worry, no bust ups in the top ranks or anything, such stupid things don't happen in a quality game like this icon_smile.gif

With me having started a new job not long ago, and now also having started college, I've found that my work load has rapidly gone through the roof and there isnt enough hours in the day to complete it all.

So having looked at my schedule, the only thing that can give way is this absolutely fantastic game. I will of course still see some kind of role within the game but manager Steve Gold of Stevenage has been officially retired since the session we had on Tuesday evening.

So I would just like to thank Andy for doing an excellent job with hosting EFB2 and of course i'd like to thank everyone who has come and gone due to various reasons and also thank our current crop of players, Pete, Rob and Edan for continuing their dedication and commitment to EFB2 icon_smile.gif

Anyone has any questions, then just contact me of course icon_smile.gif

Before you ask, Yes EFB will go on and nothings gonna stop it icon_smile.gif

So Well into the prem Liverpool struggling to find there feet alittle I mean alot, Pre Season with 2 mini tours 1 of scotland in which Aberdeen and Partick Thistle where the oponents and then onto Croatia for Dugo Selo and Marsonia both tours seemed ok but not too many goals.

Jurgen Ostermann from Bayern Munich a 16yr old Striker seems to have settled into life in the prem so far hes keeping out pozzi from the attack.

Results So Far With Liverpool Back In The Premier League

Newcastle 1 Liverpool 0

Not much to say on this performance except that We need time to settle into new surroundings.

Peterboro 0 Liverpool 0

A bore draw for sure no one could make it happen in this one.

Stevenage 1 Liverpool 0

Supat equalized late for Pool in this encounter.

Blackburn 0 Liverpool 2

Ostermann opened his liverpool account with a beauty from outside the area before Clark made it 2-0 at the end.

Norwich 6 Liverpool 2

Liverpool brought back down to life with a bang Norwich ran rampant on this occasion but Castro and Yahiaoui did manage 2 goals for Liverpool.

Derby 1 Liverpool 0

Not much to report of this one except for The Nunez red card in 62nd minute.

Carling Cup 2nd Round

Liverpool 3 Gillingham 0

after only 1min Ostermann with a superb set up by Castro makes it 1-0 then it was the Juliusson show with 2 sweetly taken goals to move Liverpool into the next round.

QPR 0 Liverpool 0

Man City 1 Liverpool 1

Supat scores another vital goal to give us a share of the points at City,Edan took some time off but his assistant managed to keep the ship afloat without him.

Tottenham 2 Liverpool 1

Tottenham went into the lead early on before Canobbio 73min and Ostermann 87 min scored to give Liverpool a deserved 3 points lets see if this can be the turning point in a season that has been slow to start for Liverpool in the winning department.

Stay tuned to see if Liverpool can stay in the prem or if they go back to div1 obscurity

High Flying Canaries Almost At Their Peak!!!!

Yes folks gaffer Andrew Hepburn has turned Norwich into an almost unstoppable force in the space of just a few weeks. Hepburn has redefined the way Norwich play their football and the fans are loving every minute this season as Hepburn has seen his team move into third place in the league as we approach the half way point in the season. Here is a rundown of the latest games in an entertaining season so far…….

Norwich v Man Utd – (H) – 6-3

After the high scoring defeat at Fulham Hepburn was not at all happy with his team’s defending. Next up for Norwich was a testing visit from Man Utd last season’s Premiership runners-up. It was another attacking footballing fest as Norwich hit top gear right from kick off. They went all out attack and it proved very successful as Tyrone Berry put them ahead after only ten minutes. It was the first of five goals for the England international who played the game of his life. Marchesi grabbed a second for Norwich just on the half hour mark and then it was the Berry show as everything he hit in the second half seemed to go in. Man U had no answer to the Berry onslaught as his pace and finishing proved too much for them. Man Utd did get three goals though that was quite worrying for Hepburn especially in tight games but for now he was basking in the success of a win over Man Utd.

Arsenal v Norwich – (A) – 3-5

So it was onto the road again for the Canaries and to Highbury they went as they faced Arsenal. Again it was another high scoring game of football from both teams. It was poor defending that led to the downfall of Norwich again as Joe Cole grabbed a hat trick as part of five goals that Arsenal scored. The highlight for Norwich was another hat trick for Tyrone Berry who has hit top form.

Norwich v Newcastle – (H) – 5-3

It was back to Carrow Road next as Norwich entertained the league leaders Newcastle. The players knew they had to put in a big performance to match Newcastle and that is what they did and then some more. Norwich came flying out the blocks right from kick off and seemed to take Newcastle by surprise as they could not get going as Norwich pressed all over the pitch and played at such a high tempo. However Newcastle showed all their class when they came forward, as their first attack led to a goal. Toure gave away a needless free kick on the edge of the box and Jan Kristiansen giving the keeper no chance expertly converted it. To their credit Norwich came right back at Newcastle not letting the goal they had conceded get them down. In the space of two minutes they were ahead. Firstly Cherno Samba equalised and then Tyrone Berry put Norwich ahead with a superb run and finish. They then went 3-1 up as Scott Agnew scored his first Norwich goal via the penalty spot after Samba was fouled in the box. Samba then grabbed his second of the match and Norwich’s fourth and then Agnew scored his second goal arriving at the back post to convert a cross from Berry. What a first half it was with Norwich going in 5-1 up. Second half they became sloppy at the back as usual and let Newcastle back into the game as Yakubu scored twice but it wasn’t enough as they suffered their defeat of the season.

Norwich v West Ham – (H) – 6-2

This was a game all about two men, Cherno Samba and Tyrone Berry who scored a hat trick a piece as they tore the former Premiership champions apart. They had no answer to the pace and power of both the front two and it seemed every time either player got a chance they would score. It seemed West Ham’s early goal only annoyed Norwich much like Newcastle did in the previous game.

Peterborough v Norwich – (A) – 7-0

Norwich served a seven star performance in this game as their run of good form was kept up due to some superb attacking play and for the first time this season they kept a clean sheet. Peterborough had no answers to the questions Norwich asked of them and it was seven nil going on ten nil such was the dominance of Norwich. Star of the show was Samba who grabbed four of the seven goals before going off injured after only fifty-four minutes. Marchesi got back into the goalscoring habit with two goals and an own goal from Paul Ford gave Norwich a very impressive victory.

Norwich v Stevenage – (H) – 0-3

Next up to visit Carrow road was current Premiership & European Cup winners Stevenage without the man how got them there Stephen Gold. It made difference as Norwich goalkeeper Petr Cech handed them a lovely 3-0 win without having to do anything difficult. Three mistakes by him led to all three Boro goals and condemned Norwich to their first home league defeat of the season. Norwich were always in the game as they did create chances but they found Paul Robinson in inspired form in goal for Boro.

Blackburn v Norwich – (A) – 3-4

Following the defeat to Stevenage many thought Hepburn would drop goalkeeper Petr Cech but he kept faith in him but it was their defence who let them down badly in this game. Norwich had put themselves 3-1 up and looked to be on their way to another easy victory. A Tyrone Berry hat trick had put them in that position but it all went Pete Tong in defence for Norwich. A change of tactics from Blackburn and a few Norwich players getting slightly injured led to their downfall. They came roaring back into the game and four second half goals saw them grab the three points and left Hepburn absolutely raging at the state of the Norwich defence.

Norwich v Derby – (H) – 3-1

Norwich went into this game on a bad run of form, conceding seven goals in two games and confidence in the defence was low. Derby were next to visit Carrow Road, Hepburn’s old club looking to add to his misery. Last season this fixture brought us a feast of goals and entertainment, this season it was one-way traffic as Norwich got back to winning ways with a comfortable win. Marchesi was the architect of the victory grabbing a double and Agnew grabbed the other for the Canaries. They did leave it late as Derby scored an unexpected equaliser through Danny Guthrie but Marchesi and Agnew relieved the tension inside Carrow Road with two goals in the final five minutes to hand Norwich three points and get them back to winning ways.

QPR – Norwich – (A) – 3-2

Norwich can never do things the easy way can they? They did their best to throw away a 3-0 lead at the hands of QPR but they held out for the victory. Marchesi set Norwich on their way and Tyrone Berry weighed in with two goals to give Norwich a commanding lead. Two late goals from QPR set up a grandstand finish but Norwich defended well in the final few seconds to give Hepburn and Norwich the win.

Norwich v Man City – (H) – 3-2

Next up at Carrow Road was Edan Waldman’s Man City team looking for some points. They started off well enough as they went ahead after only two minutes only for Norwich to hit back straight away through Samba who was back in the team after an injury lay off. Italian Marchesi put Norwich 2-1 up only for City to equalise right on half time. It was that man Berry who grabbed the all important winner for Norwich and they could have added to their lead but it wasn’t to be. Good win and three more points in the bag.

Tottenham v Norwich – (A) – 0-3

Tottenham showed just why they are one of the best teams in Europe as they tore Norwich apart with a simply breathtaking performance. They knew Norwich were on a high so they seemed to raise their level, a level Norwich were unable to cope with.

The League Cup Experience

Norwich were drawn against Bradford in round two of the League Cup and set about disposing them rather easily well 7-1 to be exact. Berry grabbed four goals as his goalscoring was reaching new levels. Roger Graham grabbed two goals and Marchesi scored as well.

It was into round three where Norwich faced Sheffield Utd at Bramall Lane and again it proved an easy passage into round four. A changed Norwich team made no difference as Nicky James scored a double on his debut for Norwich and Tommy Walsh scored the other.

Round four saw Norwich come up against Fulham who had already beaten Norwich already this season. This time there was only one winner as Norwich gained revenge for that defeat win a superb 3-1 victory. It could have been a lot more but progress was all that Hepburn required from his players. It was the double act of Samba and Berry who got them through with Berry grabbing a double.

Shock News

It has come to our attention that all is not well at Deepdale. Mr P Smith has believed to have handed in his resignation this morning say that all is not well on the home front and which needs his attention in this matter and cant do the 2 jobs at once so his role of being a manager of a football club will have to come to an end.

Mr Smith has stated how much of a big wrench this decision has come to and must thank all that knew the Preston manager in the running of the club.

Also it was stated that when the home front was back on line he would like to take up another post with a club if the opportunity came along.

So with the board excepting the offer of his resignation we now find that Preston will now be without a manager for the remainder of the season.

Mr Smith would like to state that he had enjoyed the time in the role of being the manager of Preston and hoped this misfortune would not have a bad effect on the other managers.

High Flying Canaries Almost Reach The Promised land!!!!!!

In a remarkable end to the season Norwich City managed by Andrew Hepburn almost surprised everyone by claiming top spot in the Premiership ahead of big guns Newcastle, Tottenham and Man Utd. Hepburn’s team had surprised everyone in the footballing world much to the delight of Hepburn. Norwich before the season started had been labelled as a ‘mid table outfit’ and nothing more but performances this season led the media and other clubs to think differently towards Norwich. Here is how it all went down in the climax to the season……

The League Campaign

Norwich v Sunderland – (H) – 5-0

After the mauling at White Harte Lane it was back to the training ground to try and get the Norwich City defenders to defend. Norwich welcomed Sunderland to Carrow Road but sent them packing with ease. Sunderland could not handle Norwich’s lethal strike force of Berry, Samba and Marchesi. Berry was the main man again, grabbing a hat trick while Samba and Marchesi grabbed a goal apiece. It could have been more but for some good goalkeeping and last ditch defending from Sunderland. Glad to see Norwich back on the winning trail again.

Preston v Norwich – (A) – 2-2

Encounters between Preston and Norwich had always been close in the past and this one was no exception. Norwich had much of the first half and went 2-0 ahead with goals from Berry and a rare goal and appearance from John Spicer. In the second half Preston came back strongly and grabbed two second half goals to wipe out Norwich’s advantage. Hepburn could not quite believe what he was seeing. For the last half hour it was all hands on deck for Preston as Norwich really turned the screw but just could not find a way through as they did in the first half of the game.

Norwich v Birmingham – (H) – 2-2

Another game where Norwich dropped vital Premiership points in their quest for the title. They went ahead twice in the game but Birmingham to their credit came right back at them to equalise. It was a very one sided game as Norwich attacked and attacked from the off and were rewarded with a goal after twenty five minutes from Marchesi. Birmingham pinned them back with only their first real attack of the game and it was gifted to them by Ellegard in the Norwich goal. In the second half it was again constant Norwich pressure but Isaakson in the Brum goal kept them out until the eightieth minute when Berry found a way past him and that surely had to be the winning goal. Well no it wasn’t as Norwich were caught again with some slack defending and Maloney nipped in the grab an equaliser eight minutes from time. Hepburn was irate at his team’s inability to hold onto a lead and was not happy with his team as they found out afterwards in the dressing room.

Norwich v Hull – (H) – 3-0

This was billed as a ‘close encounter’ but in the end it was a bit of a mauling for Hepburn’s old side. It was 3-0 going on seven or eight as Norwich played their socks off. It was a performance Hepburn demanded from his players after recent slip ups and boy what a response he got from his players. Samba put Norwich ahead after only fifteen minutes and from then on there was only one team in the game. Hull were never allowed to get into the match. A second half double from Tyrone Berry put the game beyond doubt but it was a performance of potential champions. Just superb football.

Liverpool v Norwich – (A) – 1-1

Onto the road again for Norwich and a trip to Anfield to meet Rob Perry’s Liverpool side who can be great and who can be awful. This week Norwich got the Pool side who can be great. It was closely contested game, very different from the game we saw earlier in the season when Norwich turned Pool over. Norwich did take an early lead as Samba put them in front but after that it was all Liverpool who came back at Norwich and put them under all kinds of pressure. The Norwich defence stood firm until twenty minutes from time when Liverpool finally scored their equaliser and put a further dent in Norwich’s title challenge.

Norwich v Middlesbrough – (H) – 5-1

It was back to winning ways at Carrow Road as Norwich demolished a poor Middlesbrough side although in fairness Norwich did play very very well. In the past Boro had given Norwich problems but today there was only one team in this game. It was the strikeforce that grabbed the goals again for Norwich. This time Samba and Berry grabbed doubles and Marchesi scored one. It was fantastic to watch and again they showed just what they are capable of.

WBA v Norwich – (A) – 1-2

Another away game and yet another loss, the latest being against WBA. It was a game of missed chances for Norwich as several opportunities were passed up whereas WBA took their chances and won the game. Lee Sims got the goal for Norwich but it was just too late to mount a late late comeback to try and salvage a point.

Norwich v Fulham – (H) – 0-0

Hepburn was left seething after another frustrating afternoon at Carrow Road. The team created numerous chances but found Fulham goalkeeper Paul McDonald in the form of his life to prevent Norwich getting all three points.

Man Utd v Norwich – (A) – 1-5

Worst performance of his managerial career was how he put this at the post match press conference and he was right, it was truly awful.

Norwich v Arsenal – (H) – 6-0

After what had happened at Old Trafford it was time for one of Hepburn’s legendary ‘kick up the arse’ chats as he was clearly frustrated at the way his team was performing as of late. It seemed to have the desired response as Norwich wiped the floor with Arsenal. It was a truly superb performance from the Canaries. They got off to the perfect start with two early goals from Berry, Samba and Marchesi who grabbed the first of his two goals. It was then Arteta’s turn to get in on the scoring act after only fifteen minutes to make it 4-0 to Norwich. Arsenal were stunned, Hepburn was stunned but the whole of the crowd was in raptures as what they were seeing. Superb performance to get Norwich back in the hunt for the title.

Newcastle v Norwich – (A) – 1-3

After the superb performance at home to Arsenal it was back onto the road up to Newcastle to try and win an away game for the first time in as many games. It wasn’t to be but they did put up a great fight as Newcastle were slightly flattered by the 3-1 scoreline. Ellegard had another howler of a game in goal for Norwich and the lethal strikeforce of Berry, Marchesi and Samba had a bit of an off day. It was Samba who got the goal for Norwich but he did pass up other chances along with his other fellow strikers whereas the Newcastle strikers were gifted all their goals by Ellegard.

West Ham v Norwich – (A) – 4-3

At last Norwich won an away game in the Premiership after a dreadful run of form away from home. It was at Upton Park a ground where only two weeks ago Norwich were dumped out of the League Cup on. It was a different story this time around as Norwich played with a greater purpose and determination not to lose this game. Berry gave Norwich a great start after only nine minutes with a superb goal. The Hammers came back strongly though and grabbed an equaliser after twenty minutes. After that Norwich upped their level of performance and created numerous chances but were unable to find a way through in the first half. It was a different story in the second half as three second half goals put Norwich into a 4-1 lead and seemed to be sailing towards victory. The goals came from the usual suspects Berry, Samba and Marchesi. In true Norwich fashion they can never do things the easy way and conceded two more goals before full time and Hepburn was shaking his head at his side’s inability to make things easy for themselves away from home. But a win is a win and that is what football is about.

Norwich v Peterborough – (H) – 5-2

After the sensational win away at Upton Park it was back to Carrow Road to face bottom club Peterborough a side who Norwich have a great goalscoring record against. Peterborough put up stubborn resistance in the first half as the Canaries struggled to find a way through but they finally got the goal they wanted two minutes before half time courtesy of who else Tyrone Berry who is having the season of his life. That was after the aging Michael Owen had given Peterborough a shock lead. In the second half it was more of the same from Norwich only this time they turned their possession into goals. Three goals in eight minutes put the match beyond any doubt. The goals came from Agnew and another two goals for Tyrone Berry. Then it was Marchesi’s turn to get in on the goalscoring act and he added a fifth for Norwich. Peterborough scored a late consolation from John Barber but all the headlines belonged to Berry again for yet another hat trick.

Stevenage v Norwich – (A) – 1-4

It was a must win game for Norwich for them to try and close the gap at the top of the league between the two sides. For these games you need all your players in top form but sadly for Norwich the Cech jinx struck again as he had another terrible game at the hands of Premiership champions Stevenage. He gifted Boro their goals but Boro really dominated the game and looked to have effectively ended Norwich’s title challenge. Tyrone Berry grabbed Norwich’s goal but apart from that it was all Stevenage as they showed just why they are champions and even without former manager Steven Gold in charge.

Norwich v Blackburn – (H) – 5-0

After the defeat at Stevenage Norwich entertained Blackburn at Carrow Road and it was the start of an unbeaten run till the end of the season for Norwich. This was a one sided contest as they tore Blackburn apart with ease with Arteta pulling the strings in midfield and the three amigos up front causing the Blackburn defence all kinds of problems. Marchesi was rested for this game but replacement Tommy Walsh came in and grabbed the first goal of the match. Samba made it 2-0 and then Walsh scored his second of the game to make it 3-0 to the Canaries. In the second half they just kept going at Blackburn and Kevin Bishop who has been a revelation at the heart of the Norwich defence got in on the act with a superb header from an Agnew corner. Then who else but Tyrone Berry rounded off the scoring with a fifth for Norwich and that was that really.

Derby v Norwich – (A) – 8-0

Superlatives cannot describe how good Norwich were in this game. It was Pavel Nedved’s first game in charge at Pride Park and what he saw did not make good watching I bet. Again it was two of the three amigos who scored all the goals for Norwich, these being Berry and Marchesi. It was awesome stuff from Norwich. The funny thing is it could have been more such was Norwich’s dominance leaving Nedved wondering why he bothered becoming Derby manager. What a job he has on his hands to try and turn that club around.

Norwich v QPR – (H) – 7-2

Norwich followed up the superb win at Derby with another brilliant home performance against QPR. It was all out attack at it’s best and with strikers of real quality the outcome was inevitable. The star of the show as always was Tyrone Berry who helped himself to another four goals of supreme quality to show just who is the best striker in Europe at the moment. Further goals from Marchesi who scored twice and Agnew who is turning out to be another sensation also got in on the act. QPR had no answer with Arteta in central midfield and Agnew out on the left causing all sorts of problems with his pace and skill. Superb performance.

Man City v Norwich – (A) – 5-2

Norwich were now in the form of their lives as Hepburn and his men travelled to Manchester for the game against Man City. City put up a good fight for most of the game but the difference as always was Norwich’s supreme attacking qualities. At one point City were 2-1 up but that only seemed to make Norwich angry and a little tactic tweak from Hepburn and bang Norwich grab four goals to put the game beyond City. Berry had opened the scoring for Norwich but two goals from Man City’s Mario Sanchez had given City hope. Once Samba grabbed the equaliser there was only going to be one winner and that was Norwich. Only two minutes after Samba’s equaliser, Marchesi had Norwich in front and then Berry put them further ahead only five minutes later. The man who turned the game for Norwich then got his goal to round off things for Norwich was Roger Graham who had played superbly in the second half after being pushed further forward by Hepburn.

Norwich v Tottenham – (H) – 2-0

Norwich went into this game high on confidence as one of the Premiership big guns stopped by and then left empty handed. It was a hard fought game as Norwich showed they can grind a result out now and again especially against the big guns. It was a changed Norwich side due to injuries and suspensions especially up front but the replacements for Samba and Marchesi were more than adequate. The Norwich defence was on top form restricting the Tottenham strikers to hardly anything all game. The two goals that Norwich did score did not come till the final five minutes but they came in the end. The goals came courtesy of Tyrone Berry and Nicky James showing he will be a star for the future with a superb goal. Class performance all round here.

Sunderland v Norwich – (A) – 2-2

It was this game where Norwich’s title challenge officially ended as they failed to beat Sunderland and Stevenage won their match. It was again a case of not being able to hold onto a lead away from home. Hepburn had thought they had learned their lesson but obviously not. It had all started so well for Norwich as Marchesi put them ahead on the half hour mark but for once Norwich could build on this lead. Barry Ferguson levelled things for Sunderland only for Agnew to put Norwich ahead once again. Then only two minutes after going ahead Tonge scored a dramatic equaliser for Sunderland and they then held out for a draw and they ended Norwich’s title charge once and for all this season.

Norwich v Preston – (H) – 4-2

After many times of asking Norwich finally defeated a Preston side that had frustrated Hepburn’s side in the past. With the runners up spot still up for grabs Hepburn urged his side not to let the disappointment of losing out on the title get to them. They didn’t and went about getting a result with a superb start to the game as Berry put them ahead after only ten minutes. A shock Arthur equaliser was only a blip as they went back on the attack and were rewarded with a second goal from Tyrone Berry. Norwich did rest on their laurels and they added a third goal to their tally through Marchesi. It was a superb first half from Norwich. In the second half Preston pulled a goal back but then Norwich went further ahead with a goal from Roger Graham to round off the scoring and it was three more points in the bag.

Birmingham v Norwich – (A) – 1-1

A boring 1-1 draw to end the season for Norwich as many of the Norwich players seemed to be saving themselves for the upcoming FA Cup Final against Aston Villa. They should have won the game but some poor finishing and goalkeeping ended hopes of that. Who else but Tyrone Berry scored for the Canaries but another howler from Ellegard cost Norwich dearly.

End Of Season Summary

In the end second place was more than Hepburn expected to achieve as he thought they would maybe need time to gel and work together but was pleasantly surprised at who good they played throughout the season. Hepburn got the fans Champions League football next season and put Norwich back into the big time.

The League Cup Experience

After the win in round four over Fulham the quarter final draw saw Norwich away at Middlesbrough. It was quite a game that went all the way to extra time to try and find a winner. In extra time that man Tyrone Berry provided two goal in the last ten minutes to give Norwich a 5-3 win. In the semis Norwich were paired with West Ham. The first leg was at Carrow road and for once Tyrone Berry did not have his scoring boots on. This showed in the result as Norwich could only manage a 1-1 draw as West Ham frustrated Norwich and in the end it paid off knowing how vulnerable Norwich are away from home. In the return leg it wasn’t to be for Norwich as they succumbed to a 2-0 loss and really did not play at all well.

The FA Cup Run

In round three Norwich were drawn at home to fallen giants Chelsea who were no longer the force they once were.

Norwich v Chelsea – Round 3 – (H) – 7-1

So sad to see a team once so good be so crap in only a few seasons. Norwich ripped them apart with goals from Samba with two goals, Marchesi grabbing a hat trick, Tyrone Berry only limited to one goal and an own goal from Jamie Langley rounded off things for Norwich. Easy passage to round four.

Bournemouth v Norwich – Round 4 – (A) – 3-1

Lower league Bournemouth welcomed Norwich for round four of the FA Cup and to their credit they put on one hell of a fighting, spirited performance to try and compete with the Premiership club. A professional solid first half performance saw Norwich go three goals up courtesy of a double from Marchesi and an own goal from Steve Steele. In the second half Norwich took their foot off the gas and were content to just pass the ball about in the second half. Bournemouth did grab a consolation goal through Matthew Wright but it was never going to be enough.

Watford v Norwich – Round 5 – (A) – 7-0

Round five of the FA Cup saw Norwich on their travels again, this time it was to London to face Watford. It was another rampant performance from Norwich as they put on a five star showing with all their top players on the top of their game. It was a thrashing but it could have been a lot more than seven but Hepburn was happy they progressed through again. The goals came from Tyrone Berry who scored four times, Tommy Walsh who scored twice and Samba who scored the other goal of this mauling.

Norwich v Liverpool – Round 6 – (H) – 5-4

It was onto round six for Norwich where they faced Rob Perry’s Liverpool side and what a game of football it was. Liverpool started off superbly and quickly established a 2-0 lead after only ten minutes of play. The Norwich fans were stunned by what they were seeing. Tyrone Berry then pulled a goal back for Norwich to get them back into the game but then Liverpool restored their two goal lead only for Berry to hit back for Norwich just before half time. What a first half!!!!! In the second half it was more of the same as Liverpool restored their two goal advantage through former Derby player Rungratsamee who used to play under Hepburn. Agnew got Norwich back into the game with a third for Norwich and by now it was all hands on deck for Liverpool as Norwich were throwing everything at them. Five minutes from time it became 4-4 as Tyrone Berry scored a dramatic equaliser and the tie looked to be heading for a replay. Berry had other ideas as in the final minute of the game he scored a winner that even had Hepburn running along the touchline to join in the celebrations with his players such was the tension. It was a dramatic game of football!!!!!!

Hull v Norwich – Semi Final – (N) – 3-0

Norwich were given the hard task of beating Hull to get into their first FA Cup final. In all honesty it was quite an easy passage through to the final as Norwich tore Hull apart with ease as the Hull defence had no answer to Hepburn’s three amigos up front. It was Tyrone Berry who grabbed all the headlines again with a quite superb hat trick to send them into the FA Cup final in Hepburn’s first full season in charge at the club.

Aston Villa v Norwich – FA Cup Final – (N) – 6-0

After doing all the hard work getting to the final, the final itself was a stroll for Norwich as they tore Aston Villa apart in the most one sided final in recent years. Villa had no answer to Norwich’s constant attacking and with so many options to choose from they could attack all over the pitch. A now common occurance in a Norwich team is that Tyrone Berry scores a few goals and gets all the headlines. This occasion was no different as he helped himself to four goals as Norwich ran riot. Scott Agnew and Marchesi scored the other goals to round off what had been a great season overall for both the team and manager Andrew Hepburn.

Well folks EFB2 is now over and what a game it has been for all involved. For the last 10 months it has been non stop action every Monday and Thursday night as we battled it out to see who was the best and had a few laughs along the way. There was sackings, resignations, championship wins, heart break the whole damn lot and then some. It was a rollercoaster ride if ever I saw one.

I would like to say a huge thankyou to everyone who participated over the last 10 months and who made this game what it is. I have enjoyed hosting EFB and will do the same when we re open for EFB FM. A big thankyou to those who stayed till the bitter end and to Stephen Gold who produced some quality Zeitungs as the seasons went on (where the feck is the latest one!!! icon_biggrin.gificon_wink.gif).

Preparations are already underway for EFB FM and all will be revealed in the coming weeks. For those who want to join I have put a post in the clan application thread asking for people to contact myself or Steve regarding joining EFB FM. So for now I am just gonna enjoy this wee break, recharge the batteries ready for EFB FM.
