  1. February 2029 A pretty poor month in comparison to January until we hammered Plymouth away from home. We were 3-0 up against Millwall; conceded twice, had a man sent off and capitulated. Good results against Burnley and Coventry to be fair. We move 13 points clear of the relegation zone, feeling confident of staying up now.
  2. Undecided at the moment. I want to go smaller again but a nation with links to Europe. Equatorial Guinea > Spain Togo > Germany Benin > France
  3. January 2029 I had to do some work at work so my time was cut short to one game. Back to monthly updates, well we'll see what February is like before making a committed call. What a month. Although we didn't really play much in terms of quality opposition. Boro' are currently 20th, Luton are 13th, Hull are 15th, Bristol Rovers are 22nd and Preston are 21st but you have to beat/ play what is put in front of you. We're up to 16th for the time being. 10 points clear of the relegation zone.
  4. My Southend save is only until some downloadable leagues are available. Preferably Africa of course.
  5. Mid-Season Update - 2028/29 I couldn't bring myself to update monthly, we're pretty trash but luckily there are a few sides who are worse at this moment in time. Just three wins is rather poor but luckily we've managed to turn defeat into draws on a few occasions to give us a small points boost. The wins have come against Preston (3-0), Middlesbrough (3-0) and Watford (2-0). We're currently on an 11-game winless run dating back to the last game of October. We just didn't have the money; transfer or wages to bring in the players we needed to or the reputation to attract the players necessary to really improve the squad for life in the Championship. Just six players joined, three on loan as we looked to spend little money to avoid putting us in unnecessary debt. We've had a huge number of our own players kick up a stink about feeling underpaid and wanting a new contract, I've given in three or four times due to squad harmony and given new contracts, with some players double or tripling their wages. I'm not sure how much longer the board will allow me to carry on, I've gone from A+ Untouchable to B- in a short space of time but as long as we are out of the relegation zone we have time on our hands. I'm not sure whether to gamble on signing a couple of players and maybe put us in debt or stay as we are and trust the players that got us to where we are.
  6. We did walk the league. We're not walking in the Championship though, barely crawling. Mid-season update to come.
  7. End of Season Review - 2027/28 We either win by scoring four goals or loss conceding twice. League 1 - 1st - an unexpected title win and promotion to the Championship. 109 points is a new league record for points accrued. FA Cup - 4th Round - Bath, Derby and Millwall were defeated en route to the 4th Round tie with Everton which ended in defeat. Carabao Cup - 1st Round - out in the first round again. EFL Trophy - Southern Section Group Stage - we struggled this season. Transfers IN & Transfers OUT - two left in the winter window. Top Scorer - Kacey Wooster (32) - a fine season on his return to Southend. Most Assists - Debum Eze (16) - was a rotation option through the course of the season, out out-assisted his 8.49 expected assists. Unsung Hero - Omari Forson - 19 goals (12xG) and 12 assists either playing right wing or central midfield. We finish the season a little better off than we did last season.
  8. Thanks!! We overachieved hugely this season again. Next season is going to be extremely tough with limited resources.
  9. March 2028 Three games in March and three wins which means... We're crowned champions with five games remaining.
  10. March 2028 Our first poached player has come through at their new club. Andrew Harris at Charlton.
  11. February 2028 Seven games in the league this month but just three wins. 20 points clear with seven games remaining.
  12. January 2028 A comfortable win over Championship side Millwall in the FA Cup, we advance to the 4th Round for the first time. We faced Everton in the 4th Round and despite taking the lead we were bettered by the side from Liverpool. In the league, we were in pretty good form, winning all four ties. Incudes a couple of results from Feb. Top by 10 points and a further 10 points ahead of 3rd place.
  13. December 2027 Another busy month. We shouldn't have dropped points against Carlisle. With the two losses this month coming against Plymouth and Bristol Rover who are 2nd and 3rd in the table, the gap has begun to close. Two late goals stole all the points from both the Wrexham and Charlton games, thank you Gideon Kodua. Kacey Wooster smashed in a hat-trick against play-off side Bolton. Seven points clear of Plymouth still and 16 points clear of 3rd.
  14. November 2027 A huge month, winning every game bar one. Kacey Wooster hit some goal-scoring form in the first half of the month with goals against Burton, four against floundering Fleetwood and a double over Stockport. Omari Forson's only goal of the month saw us take all three points against Huddersfield before a returning from injury Redmond netted twice against 2nd placed Plymouth in a away drubbing. We ended the month against Derby in the FA Cup where only 7800 fans saw us win 1-0 and advance to the 3rd Round again. 13 points clear of Bristol Rovers after just 20 games is mind-blowing. We have a huge goal difference already too.
  15. September & October 2027 I missed the September update because I wasn't aware there were just three games in that month and had played through to the Doncaster game. Anyway, three wins from three that month, no outstanding performers, and the goals were shared around but a good away win over Exeter. Into October, the month carried on like the last one, Bolton beaten away from home before returning to Roots Hall for an EFL Trophy game with a rotated side. Another away win before returning to Roots Hall for three home games on the bounce, including a demolition job on Crawley with Dane Scarlett scoring his first goal for the club with a hat-trick. Defeat to Leyton Orient ended the unbeaten run but we picked ourselves up for a big win over Forest Green, Omari Forson netting twice, taking his season tally to seven goals so far. We ended the month with a Friday FA Cup game under the lights away at Bath, a rotated side put four past them with relative ease. Top by eight points but Plymouth and Crawley have games in hand.
  16. September 2027 Some big-ish signings; Dane Scarlett formerly of Tottenham, Alex Murphy who starts at Newcastle, Kacey Wooster who left Southend to join Newcastle and Omari Forson who was at Man Utd.
  17. August 2027 A great start to the new league campaign. Big wins away from home over Wigan, Derby and Sheffield Wednesday. Out of the Carabao Cup again at the first hurdle and a loss in the EFL trophy. Table-toppers at an early stage.
  18. May 2027 Another one! Will be interesting to see if he is the brother to Liverpool-bound Kelvin.
  19. May 2027 We're going to have no one left in our own intakes at this rate.
