  1. Yea and I understand your POW, even if I don't agree. But trying to pass it off as fact when the rules say otherwise is still crap, especially when you know it.
  2. Exactly right. VAR can only decide on the objective part, offside or not. The subjective part, interfering or not, has to go to the referee on the pitch. Any commentator that hasn't understood that simple distinction by now really shouldn't be allowed into a studio/stadium.
  3. Not that simple. It's being so close to the keeper that does it. Had he done the same thing but at the back post while the keeper was a the near post then touching it or not would have been the decider. But here he affects the keeper and then it's an offence no matter if he touches it or not.
  4. THey actually mentioned that on the broadcast here. They had asked about it and the answer they got was that the attendance figures included everyone at the stadium, fans, team personnel, media, tournament staff, stadium staff, security and so on. Odd way of doing it and possibly (certainly) done to intentionally inflate the figure but at least there is some logic behind it.
  5. So what would be acceptable to you? Bringing the issue to the headlines obviously isn't enough. Would coming out for the anthems with the armband and then immediately take it be enough? Or do they need to get a caution before taking it off? Or get someone sent off? Or go the whole way and forfeit the game? At what point have they done enough??? The "take a caution and go on" thing that has been mentioned in the papers isn't an option. If Kane (or anyone else) steps onto the pitch with a piece of clothing that the referee deems not acceptable then he'll get told to leave the pitch to correct it. The game won't start/re-start until he has left the pitch and if he refuses then it's a caution (and the game still won't re-start). And he won't be allowed back until the issue is corrected, trying to do so is another caution. And then the team needs to decide on an alternate Captain and the issue starts over from step 1. So again, at what point have they done enough? The Iranian players protest might in the long run be a lot more dangerous to them (and their relatives) but there is nothing in it that will be an issue during the tournament. It isn't a breach of the LotG or the competition regulations so they are free to do it as long as they want without FIFA interfering in any way.
  6. Racism is thriving ffs. There are racist political parties getting big support in many countries and non-inclusive policies are getting more and more common. Thinking racism isn't much of an issue today is delusional.
  7. I guess that's the "draw" option. I would have gone with 3 choices but...
