  1. I think there have been reported cases of players preferring London over UK cities with perceived lower attraction, (I think Newcastle was part of a story on this once) but it's highly subjective of course and I would prefer the NE over London any day. There is defintely an attractiveness score attributed to cities, I was just trying to work out how the club's location is worked out, as my club has moved ground to a more 'attractive' city and wondered if that changed the club's attractiveness. Sounds like it doesn't, thanks to @santy001 Each club has a location listed irrespective of where they play.
  2. Thanks again Santy001! Sounds highly likely. Do you know what impact, if any, the local region has? Would it help with growth of attendances?
  3. What do footballers come under? Arts and humanities ? Thanks, I didn't make it clear in the initial post that I know loads of other factors come into play regarding the appeal of a club. I was specifically looking at cities and towns, which have an attractiveness rating, and I was wondering how that is attributed to a club, whether it is taken from the ground they play at, the training ground, or something else. Sounds like it's separately attributed to the club independent of those other things. Although I do wonder why stadiums have their own location values then.
  4. Pretty sure your location within the country counts too. Cities and towns have an attractiveness rating so I would imagine this counts for something.
  5. Thanks! Maybe I worded the question confusingly, but this is actually an answer to the question I meant! I’ve been playing at a ground in a different city for about 8 seasons now, and it felt like the club was a more attractive proposition than the original city, but sounds like that was only due to success on the pitch.
  6. I'm not saying it shouldn't be this way. Clearly the attractiveness of a location should, and does, have an impact. I am trying to work out how the location of a club is defined. I am wondering whether, if your club moves ground, then does the location of the club (that attractiveness is based on) change as well.
  7. Yeah I agree. What I am trying to work out is what defines where the club is based. When your club moves ground, are you now based out of the location of the new ground? Is there anything else that ties you to a specific area?
  8. Yeah definitely. I am just trying to work out how one of those things works.
  9. I understand that where your club is based has an impact on the attractiveness of your club to players and staff. Is this based on your stadium location? And if so does this then change when you move grounds or build a new one? My club has moved to a new area to share another club's stadium. Is my attractiveness based on their location? IRL I think it would be based on the training ground location, which might not always be the same, as that is where a player would spend most of their time. I don't believe training ground locations are a thing though are they?
  10. It would be helfpul, and more realistic, to be able to assign positions for set pieces based on players jumping ability. If I have a corner routine set up to target my 18 jumping DMC and then subsitute him for a tiny playmaker type, then my target man striker with 17 jumping should be automatically assuming that role, not my 5'2 playmaker
  11. Good suggestion, thanks. Probably the upper limits of where I am personally thinking as they have typically been a well established league club until recently.
  12. Thanks, yeah I should’ve specified UK teams. I’m looking for much smaller than Cardiff and Swansea, ideally non league. I’m a Wrexham fan but don’t manage them anymore as it’s too easy these days. Ideally I’d love to find a non league team who could realistically expand and attract plus 30k after a few seasons in the prem, but imagine that’s not likely. Back in the Champ Man days, Kingstonian used to be able to grow like this. Think it was a data error though
  13. Which lower league clubs have the most potential for sizeable growth? Who’s stadium has a large maximum expansion capacity, who has a large potential fan base etc
  14. Managed to get one in the 3rd season. The board decided we needed an u18's team. Weird why it wasn't there to start with but very relieved.
  15. Thanks but I am not hosting the network game so don't have the save file. If you could confirm whether this is an issue or supposed to be like this that would be great though.
  16. My team has no U18 team, no U21 or reserves. The option to request a B/reserve/youth team gets rejected on the basis we don't need an u21 team, but no mention of the u18 team. I thought an u18 team was a bare minimum? I am am Hendon FC, who in real life has youth teams and a reserves. I am on a network game long save and would like to know if this an error or can be rectified in game. If so, will it be likely soon? Or should I give up hope and get used to using a work around?
  17. My scouting costs in the National League South are currently around £20k per month. I am not sure how this breaks down and how to reduce if before it bankrupts me. I have no scouting assignments,, foucus or scouting package, just individually scouting players. In previous versions I thought you got a warning that you were attempting to scout a player outside of your area that would cost money, and I haven't sanctioned any of these reports. I have four scouts. Is it possible their wages come out of this? I didn't play FM22 so not sure if this could be a change to the set up then or on this version. I always manage lower league and have never come across such high scouting costs. Perhaps it's more realistic and that's fine, I just need to find a way to stop haemorrhaging money!
  18. I think the challenge SI have is how much to embed difficulty into the game, as opposed to leaving it optional to offer more wide appeal to different levels of players. If you want to make the game harder, then you can self impose rules on yourself to play the game more realistically or just in a unique way. Perhaps consider not using the player search and just rely on scout reports, or relying on an internal youth set up, or signing local players only. If you have a great tactic, maybe try developing a completely different one, defensive long ball instead of a gegenpress etc.
  19. Thanks! I am on a network game though, not the host, so think that might not work. Good work around though. Never heard of that skin/function before.
  20. When I have only had an u18's before, the board have turned down a reserve team until championship level. What I would really like to know is if any age of youth team would take as long, or is this a bug even? The team didn't start as a standard playable team, as I wait a season and take on a promoted team to the National North or South.
  21. Yeah thanks, I am semi-pro and I would be doing this, only the assistant manager brings on my 1st team squad as subs so they are getting knackered, and I can't be arsed to personally manage that many friendlies. Having to select a reserve 11 for every midweek game is a bit of a blag, but could stomach that, but the problem is the subs don't seem to be recognised as the ones chosen by me when the ass man takes control of the friendlies, so he is just bringing on the best players asap, even though I am not including them on the bench. Seems like my options are having loads of unfit players or loads of knackered players. I understand the financials restraints of having an U21 or reserves, and the limitations on their usefulness to actually bring through players, but I have just never seen no second team of any kind before, and I always play lower league (although didn't buy fm22). My team IRL have a reserves and a youth team so it does seem odd
  22. Having a way to keep players fit who are not in your 1st eleven is quite useful to be honest. I've never seen it on any previous versions before.
  23. National League South, I think all teams have at least one youth/reserve team of some kind
  24. Yeah they have a youth and reserve team IRL. No reserve team is pretty typical at this level, but I have never seen a club without any form of youth team whatsoever
