I think this does mean that England are definitely through, no matter how badly we screw up tomorrow.

Basically if Albania and Croatia lose to Spain and Italy respectively (not unlikely) AND Georgia and Czech Republic lose to Portugal and Turkey (also not unlikely?) 2 points is enough to go through this tournament, which might still happen to Slovenia. I think Hungary have a good chance of going through.

Maybe I was overthinking it but they did seem caught in two minds towards the end - had a couple of defenders back for corner that led to the winning goal still.

I do wonder if 2 points would've been enough in the end, the permutations for that to happen aren't crazy.

It took a very long time for my phone to load that there was a tweet here, so I thought you'd just wandered in and yelled ADAM WHARTON and gone again.

Our first European final ever (and first final for over 50 years) and two tournament semi finals after 20+ years without one. Plus consistently easy, comfortable qualifying - not something we've always done - and actually making the team likeable for the first time in however long. We have no god-given right to win tournaments (even with the quality of players - look at France, Portugal, Belgium etc who've had equally strong groups).

The idea of sacking Southgate is ridiculous, not only because you don't sack managers when you're unbeaten and top of your group but also he's the best England manager we've had in my lifetime. We've tried the won-everything foreign managers, the experienced English managers, the up-and-coming English coaches and he's the only one who's achieved anything with the team. In fact I'd probably say the 2018 World Cup was the first time I've enjoyed watching an England team (I was a bit young for Euro 96). He seems like a good man, he deserves to go out of his own accord.

There's a lot of overreacting going on. Feels like the bad old days where the players are going to hate playing for England.
