  1. I don't actually - the MLS is such a Gordian knot of rules that I just follow Alexander the Great's example (slice it to bits and move on.) Sorry I can't be more help with that - my guess though is that you need to look either in additional helpers or somewhere in the roster rules. If you have a previous version of the editor you could load up an fm23 database with the MLS advanced rules, and compare it to yours.
  2. Yes - the expansion MLS franchises are hardocded MLS for a couple years after they enter the game. This year is the first year the issue doesn't affect Miami, Charlotte, Nashville and Austin. My preferred workaround is to make a copy of the team and insert it in its place, then make the old team extinct (and label it as such.) I'd wait until the 24.4 update to do that though, as you manually have to move players otherwise.
  3. I think you need to create an aggregated table stage, and then use the qualification rules to promote the top team. You can do that all in advanced rules - take a look at Peru's rules if you want to see how to create an aggregated table.
  4. This is a very helpful update - thanks Zachary. I'll look forward to it being addressed going forward!
  5. Here is my editor file, if that helps with tracking stuff down. USA - CEUD.fmf
  6. Can you post your editor file so we can take a look?
  7. Also also - it looks like the homegrown player issue is pretty wide spread, so I removed (or modified) the homegrown rules for the US, Canadian, and Mexican Dbs. You can find them attached below. USA - CEUD - No HG.fmf Mexico - CEUD - No HG.fmf Canada - CEUD - No HG Rules.fmf
  8. HI Akasha! There is a thread below that covers the same issue. I think it's impacted a number of folks, which is really unfortunate. Thanks for raising it here though! )
  9. Welcome to hotel editor - which, like hotel California, you will never leave. 😂 the thing I find easiest in this situation is to save my database, reload the database and then load up the rules of the country I want to copy, take screenshots of how SI has it set up (so I can easily replicate it) and then reload my database and add the feature. I did this with several things I copied from the English pyramid when I made my US database for the first time a couple years ago. Now I just make vanilla saves of the big 5 (and usually a couple South American competitions) at the start of the development cycle and have them for reference as I make my dbs. so, try loading a vanilla German database (with basic rules), look at the promotion rules for the Bundesliga, and see if you can copy it into yours.
  10. I just checked, and in my game ALL players have lost home grown status - both club and nation have been removed.
  11. Also, a quick note (as I just loaded up my save from 24.1) - it looks like there is a bug in the newest data update that wipes out homegrown statuses of players in long term saves. You can post your experience in this thread to help highlight the issue for SI: https://community.sigames.com/bugtracker/football-manager-2024-early-access-bugs-tracker/all-other-issues/all-players-lost-their-homegrown-status-r22164/.
  12. Same with my custom database. Cronin-Milwaukee Brigade
  13. Hi everyone - wanted to provide a quick note that these files are now updated for 23.4. The major changes are below: 24.3 Updates - I properly activated the reserves (levels 1-4) and U19 (levels 1-7) leagues for the US. - I added kits and stadiums for each US based team, so teams won't randomly build new stadiums after season 1. - I made some tweaks to the later stages of the July tournaments - they now run into Wednesdays in August, providing a bit more space and hopefully reducing fixture congestion a bit. - I brought the CONCACAF cup knockouts into the fall, so teams that qualify will get to play in the tournament the year after (instead of waiting two years.) - I adjusted some things to make sure the correct teams qualify for the Central American group and the Champions League knockouts. - I renamed awards that had the same name, and thus were not showing up in game. These and a few other minor cosmetic changes were made throughout the DB.
  14. go to users/(yourprofile)/documents/sportsinteractive/football manager 24/editor. That's where the files are located when you use them in game.
  15. Hi friends, Two questions that I think are pretty basic, but for the life of me I'm not able to sort at the moment. 1) I added a super cup to my continental competitions. It's appearing in game, but the first round isn't being drawn on the date, so the competition isn't being set up. The correct teams are being allocated to it. Is there a simple rule fix I missed along the way? 2) The wrong teams in the Central American round are moving on to the knockouts of the CONCACAF champions league. Is that something I can fix using cup mapping? Thanks for thoughts and advice in advance! Club Competitions - CEUD V2 Super Cup.fmf
  16. CTD = Crash to Desktop. If it's repeated and you can't find a way to sim around it it kills your save - really unfortunate. I've had it with all the dbs I've made between 21-24, and I know others have had similar issues with US dbs - although modelcitizen gives me some hope.
  17. Hi Reees, As a US Db editor, I think I can answer #1 for you. Unfortunately in lower league US dbs there is a magic CTD date - it's a code issue in the game and something we can't fix with the editor. If it's the same bug I have in mine, you should be able to quit your job, sim past the date, and start up again for another year (the CTD usually falls on the same week and day of the week every year - last year mine was the fourth monday in August, this year is the fourth wednesday in May). Not ideal, but keeps it from totally ending your saves. As for #2, you have to make a couple tweaks in the advanced rules for the stage. In the teams section of the stage change the seeding so it reflects their performance in the previous stage: Then, in the round general rules, use a seeded draw instead of a fixed draw: Hope that helps! EDIT: I would also suggest making sure the highest seeded team gets to play at home if you want them to have home field advantage.
  18. My guess is that it has something to do with the Canadian Championship, which automatically qualifies someone for the CONCACAF Champions League. Because the championship has US based teams in it (Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal) the competition isn't coded as Canadian in game, and you may have not incorporated it into your database, so it may be causing the error. I am curious if you incorporate it into your database if that would fix it.
  19. For most of them, I found the logos through google, created a config file, and loaded them in game. Each team has a unique id, so when I match the picture to the id in the config file it loads up in game. There were a few I had to make myself (the worse ones, usually) - and a tutorial like this can help give you an idea of how you can do it.
  20. One thought - I think Mexico and the US have more teams qualifying for the competitions than you have space for. I'm curious if you need to reduce the number of qualifiers (or increase it in your competition) so it lines up. Just an initial thought after a cursory look.
  21. It's the default qualification system - so I think priority is given to the apertura and clausrua winners, and then distributed from there based on playoff and league positions. You'd have to dig into the editor to see more detail.
  22. I tested it pre-release to see which levels were affected by the bug, and the first time I had a CTD was in level 8. I think everything above should be fine - let me know if that isn't true. Thanks Terrence!
  23. Thanks Colonial! I'm glad you're enjoying it. My guess is that I have the same name for the awards across the multiple levels, or its similar enough that the game isn't recognizing it as separate from the levels above. I'll add it to my list for a future release. As far as the multiple registrations go, I had the same thing happen. I'll poke around at some point and figure out if that's on my end. Thanks again for playing - I'm glad you enjoy it!
  24. Terrence! I'm glad you're enjoying it. Yes, unfortunately this has been an issue the last few years. Last year it was level 3 and below, so I'm glad it starts lower down the pyramid this year (I think around level 8 in my tests.) Unfortunately I think this is an in game bug - I'll eventually start a bug post and you can share your game files in there. Also, my guess is that you'll always have a crash around the 4th Wednesday in May FYI (if it's the same issue as last year.)
