  1. Do you hate the owner of your club? Does he never grant your wishes, expand your stadium, or just…sod…off? Then this might be for you… If you already manage a socios type club, then you know the deal …

I have given all 50,000+ non-extinct/institute/all-star clubs an Ownership Type of Member-Owned Ltd with Elections to level the playing field financially … i.e., the Gary Neville wet dream (and yes, it took my Editor an aaaaaage to process these mass Edits)

Will this help smaller clubs develop if they have different President every 4-years who may be open to new possibilities? Will it stop clubs like PSG running away every year now that daddy might not stick around anymore to pay the ridiculous wage bills? Who knows, but it might be fun to find out!

Ownership Type - Member-Owned Elections Ltd - no more Privately owned clubs with a Pres who sticks around until his in-game death!

Election Date - 01/07/2021, so last year … meaning you may have a new Pres in 2025!

Promises - 0, the default - so as at least to give all clubs a level setting - this can be amended, if you think it will make this more … interesting

Max Length of Term - 4 years, potentially 4 great or awful years …

Max Number of Terms - 100, so they could stick around forever! or they could make a comeback … you might get a dictator, but that's not my fault …

Stop Outside Takeovers - only people already on the board can be in the elections, so no outside hostile takeovers

Rich Benefactor - Wiped, as well as Background and Underwriters … sorry/not sorry PSG, City, Newcastle fans

If anyone wants to long-term test this, that'd be great - please feedback anything fun, or interesting, or crap, or buggy - and let me know if you see any outside takeovers at all!

And if you have any suggestions about amendments - fire away (wiping debts, giving all new Presidents Promises of more money, new manager, new players, stadiums, etc. for a laugh)

Amended sugardaddy and valid_takeover edt files - these will stop clubs in, say, Germany, from having the Member-Owned Elections Ltd type

These goes into SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2023\data\database\db\2300\edt\permanent

Overwrite the ones that are there

I have put the competitions asode for a moment as I need a bit more time to work out issues and the evenings are just short for that. Next month I have three weeks off so much more time.

I am seeing a massive difference in processing speed between FM22 and FM20 and I am not talking from my computer ;) Working through Serbian data in a few days was a three week job last year.

Awesome. Keep up the good work.

Make sure to take a few good breaks though. I know how fuzzy your head can feel after a few hours of Editing.

  3. Query / question / idea

Do you know how this competition affects club finances, with regards to travel etc.? I seem to recall from other similar databases that clubs can fall into problems due to all of the long distance travel

There are, however, advanced rules which gift money per 100km travelled to games - might be worth chucking a figure in here just in case ..

(If it's a problem .. not sure if it is, just a thought I had earlier whilst testing this out)

This is a brilliant great mod for those of us with a love of football history, coupled with some OCD tendencies!  However, just a small thing - some of what you've changed in the English divisions doesn't sound quite right based on this post.  Nationwide was only a sponsor of the First, Second and Third divisions, much like Endsleigh and Barclays were before.  Nothing changed structurally or with branding 2002-2004, so I don't think it needs to be separated?  I reckon:

    • Premier League (current)
    • Sky Bet Championship (current)
    • Sky Bet League 1 (current)
    • Sky Bet League 2 (current)
    • Football League First Division (1888-1992)
    • Football League Second Division (1892-1992)
    • Football League Third Division (1920-1921 (one season only, Crystal Palace champions) and then 1958-1992)
    • Football League Third Division North (1921-1958)
    • Football League Third Division South (1921-1958)
    • Football League Fourth Division (1958-1992)
    • Football League First Division (1992-2004)
    • Football League Second Division (1992-2004)
    • Football League Third Division (1992-2004)

Also if you spot anything else, let me know

As you can imagine - you stare at this database too long and things begin to blur..

I feel I've had to manually add far too much stuff that should be in-game anyway hah!

Oh yeah, my bad. It was getting confusing as fffffffff#### in the Editor with all of the Football League flying around, so I needed a way of differentiating.

    Amended as requested.

    Absolutely love this, mate

I think ultimately the Bayerns and Cities will wipe it at the Semi sort of stage each year - but hopefully as time goes on, the odd random team can poke it's head through

I can't wait to start as a non-big league team and win this

Vojvodina I reckon - break that Partizan/Red Star duopoly, then the world!

Oh btw, I've had a tinker with trialling a 3/way UEFA Super Cup league for the 3 main comps - 1 round, 2 games, host stadium, top team wins

There you go @Rob 396, I'm in my first season and this is the quarter final stage 1st leg. Red Star have one foot in the semi finals , and they had beaten Rangers on penalties in the previous round! Crucial away goals for Man City and Chelsea.

Have you beefed up HJK Helsinki? That's quite the unexpected semi final.

Haha nope, holiday only as-is - but their route to the final included wins against KF Teuta, Qairat, and a penalty win vs. Lille, mind you

(Bayern beat them 0-4 in the Semi ..)

Maybe this is the only way to get Malmo type teams to finals again haha

Just amended this for personal use - to make all rounds for all comps a 1-legger

Just about to load up a game with all European countries selected w/top league as playable, and holiday

I wanna see if any big Red Star Belgrade type surprises occur

(P.s. - have you thought about amending the Club World Cup to be smaller, re-run yearly (apart from winter 2022 ofcourse) and include Cup Winners' Cup teams etc. at all?)

  11. Update 25/03

    - The release of update 22.4.0 reverted/re-added some unwanted history to Ukrainian and German competitions which have now been removed (each time they update their DB it reverts some comp histories - if you notice any, please give me a shout!)

    - The new European/South American Nations Cup 'Finalisimo' being held between Italy and Argentina this year is basically a renewal of the old Artemio Franchi Trophy, so I've amalgamated the two and given the Finalisimo the trophy and brief history of that competition

(more info on the Finalisimo here - https://www.uefa.com/finalissima/news/0273-14b9ca4fd9de-fb58640bfd18-1000/)

"The CONMEBOL – UEFA Cup of Champions is the new name of the trophy that was the prize for this match in 1985 and 1993. It features two figures on either side representing the continents, Europe and South America, with the Finalissima icon prominently positioned where their hands meet."

    - Tidied up a few competitions, streamlined and removed some amendments I'd made previously

    - Added 2021 history for a few friendly competitions I added when I made this in 2020 but forgot to amend

    - You might notice I've changed the name of this file ('01A') so it should alphabetically be loaded as file #1 - so the trophy pack will always have correct IDs

Files updated in post #1 as usual

I have worked out all the Soviet Union scenarios for the 22.4 changes, so I can easily change my route. Some scenario do come with about 7-8 extra international competitions that need to be edited.

This also might hold up Player changes a bit which is a bit annoying as that is a lot of work.

No one would begrudge a lengthy pause though mate if you need it

  13. Maybe a silly one, but any thoughts on calling the African Confederation Cup II the CAF Conference League in line with Europe?

    EDIT

Also, not sure the Confederation Cup I is recording History - just seen ES Sahel win it in May - it's now Sept and well into 2nd season, but it's still showing previous winners as Raja Casablanca from 2021

  14. Query

is there a way of making an alternate format of this, where the runner up of the Cup is entered into the Cup Winners' Cup competition if they won the league?

So for example, Man City win the Premier League and FA Cup, beating Liverpool in the final - Man City play in the Anglo-Scottish Cup, but Liverpool play in the Anglo-Scottish Cup Winners' Cup - so that Man City don't feature in both?

  15. Guys, do you know if it's possible to set Editor Data FMF file loading orders?

Basically I have an extensive competition history database I created (shameless plug) - but any time I use it alongside databases that create new competition, it pushes all of my historical DB competition IDs out of whack, and then none of the trophy packs line up - so I want to find out if there's a way I can get FM to load my DB file first?

So I was expecting to post about my Armenia progress (going wel, nice you ask :D), but I have to post for different reasons.

Russian teams have been suspended by FIFA and UEFA, both club and country teams. Obviously this is so new news that SI will probably need a very stiff drink tonight to process it. I don't envy the people discussing what to do tomorrow.

For the Iron Curtain 1988 the question is what is SI going to do and how? I don't have a clue (moderators are not involved in these kind of decisions ;) )

So there is a chance we have to suspend the mod and you will hear if we know more.

For now I am going to continue on Armenia!

Hopefully if they roll out any kind of amendment, it'll be in separate 22.4.0 db

  17. Update 27/02

    - Wasn't planning on another upload, but it looks like SI removed the World Cup hardcoding which means I could correctly amend 1934 and 1962 to include Czech Republic history (Czechoslovakia doesn't carry over to Czech Republic in-game, unlike Soviet Union to Russia, which is just ..bizarre)

File amended and re-uploaded to Mediafire
