  1. Putting it out there. Last year I really struggled with defensive tactics. I think SI clearly acknowledged this deficiency by stating defending was to be improved in 23. does everyone think this has happened or, like me, are you still experiencing some inexplicable defensive frailties? Id like to know if it’s on me or the game is still weak in this area. cheers
  2. Haha. Not the answer I’m looking for! In other words we should do less. Football Manager ends up being a game of picking a team and waiting for the result. I’ll definitely try zero OIs.
  3. That’s helpful. Thank you. still think it’s a thorny subject. Ultimately because the instructions are so basic, and SI keeps it ambiguous, if you MM or press the result can v often be players constantly out of position. According to the video the player should dial down team pressing. Wish SI would give more details
  4. Playing against City who are playing 433. Foden on left wing and Silva on right. Assman OI says always MM both but in my experience that only ever drags players out of position. So I always press both in OI instead. Got beaten royally as my CBs kept chasing out of their positions to always press the City wingers. And passes into free AMs and CFs were a doddle for the opposition. are OIs basically a waste of time? They only ever drag you out of position.
  5. Fulham just destroyed my Spurs team.I think recent FM has placed alot of importance on in-match momentum and confidence. Scoring early seriously OPs confidence and there are some silly results. Not a game breaker by any means just a little reminder this is a game not real life!
  6. Last year I always played console on my iPad via Xbox cloud gaming. It allows for touch screen and makes the game accessible and easy to play. I loved console 22 and played it more than any FM for several years. The match looked good, the play was realistic (apart from the problem across all platforms with defending) and it was engrossing. this year touch on iPhone has given even greater freedom of play and I can play a high quality football management game anywhere. Love that considering the various demands on my time. but I’ve stopped playing console. Why would you when you can play an almost identical version which is already downloaded on your iPhone and iPad via arcade. console seems to have been stripped back. Why did SI do that? Why compromise analytical depth? Why make the in-match information less accessible? Why not make more powerful match graphics? It’s a bit disappointing to see the only changes are regressive. I get all versions of FM have to evolve slowly. I agree with that principle. This year on console it just seems there hasn’t be any at all. Rebranding defensive lines doesn’t count, ultimately I think non-pc versions are at the mercy of PC development plans, they can’t go ahead of the leader. I would ask console to be bolder next year. These are powerful machines - give us something different.
  7. Sorry if this has been asked before but can you cross play between iPhone and iPad on touch arcade? cheers
  8. Thank you @Desmond Richardsonfor clarifying. They are both good games (they should be considering their similarity ha) and I love the accessibility of FMT and console on my iPad and iPhone. FM as a whole is evolving v nicely now after a few post FM17 years in the doldrums, IMO. i do wonder if console needs to be more differentiated from touch. The sheer gaming power of Xbox and requirement for online play versus offline via Arcade should clearly delineate it from mobile non gaming devices. If anything it’s been stripped back (less in match analysis by way of example). as touch is reborn as a streamlined game for time poor people, it means console doesn’t need to be that. I really feel for obvious reasons I don’t need both, I got touch to play when I’m travelling but I play it as a preference to console now. im sure these discussions are taking place so just adding my 3pence worth. As I say, as of last year the game became really addictive again so great work. Keep evolving :-)
  9. @Desmond Richardsoncan that be confirmed then please. No difference between console and touch via Apple Arcade. So if you play console on your iPad and, touch on your iPad with arcade, it’s an identical experience?
  10. You can have an Xbox gamepass app on your iPad which accesses the console game and is playable as touchscreen
  11. At last ! UFOs in FM, unfortunateky it must be a bug. I’d report it in that section.
  12. Sorry was t clear. I play console on iPad and touch on phone with arcade. But they seem identical. So can cancel one sub
  13. I’ve played both on iPad and iPhone and they seem like sane game. Which suggests I only need one of them. Can anyone enlighten me? TY
  14. When trying to add a tactic 60 mins into match the game froze on attached screenshot
  15. Sorry to say that on TV or data analyst view it’s still v difficult to see the ball in many night matches. The ball is quite important in football so that’s a shame. as daylight disappears unseasonably early in FM it means many matches entertainment is spoiled. This can’t have gone unnoticed and it just needs a tweak of pitch colour or ball definition. sorry this wasn’t addressed from 22 to 23.
  16. Forgive me if I’ve missed this on the new version briefing info. match analysis seems significantly stripped back (eg position analysis with and without ball of each team). am I looking in wrong place or has it gone altogether? also assistant advice in the tablet is always empty in the first half. TY
  17. Not sure if that’s true. I prefer streamlined but want interaction with players. Would be good if it can be turned off for players like yourself who find it boring.
  18. I haven’t had a competitive match yet Luke so I guess that’s why. dynamics page like FM yes. I thought I saw that in a console screenshot. not sure about green red reaction but haven’t been looking for that. cheers!
  19. Is it me or has the pre set changed a little? CMs now DMs? Very subtle change but is there reason behind it?
  20. It’s a really good game. Yes Apple are profiting from it but thems the breaks. If you find it too much, don’t buy it. If Touch was profitable stand alone it would still exist. SI aren’t a charity.
