Nuneaton 2030/31 Season
The season started very well where we were beating teams outside the top 6 consistently and convincingly. As the season went on the teams outside the top 6 presented more of a challenge. We managed to finish in 6th despite this due to Tottenham, Man U, and Chelsea all having terrible seasons, finishing behind the likes of West Ham, Norwich, and Wolves (and us). Last season, it should be mention, Koo Keun-Ho (club icon and captain) lost his starting spot for us. This year Ben Molloy (one of the all time Nuneaton greats) lost his starting spot and even his spot off the bench. Our attacking options are numerous and coming along well. Definitely the strongest point in the side. We also had a couple more wing players come into the fold to the point where we have almost too much talent out there. In defense, we are still rather light. If more than one of the starting backline is out for the game, you can bet we will concede a handful of goals. Troy Thompson, a keeper I had high hopes for and played well last season has stopped developing this season and had a worse season. He's worth 11 million, but I don't think we will be able to sell him due to his wage. I think this season will be his last as a starter unless he can prove himself out on loan. We have a few promising keeper prospects coming through. Justin Burroughs is in pole position to take the role next season. He became our second best keeper straight out of the youth intake. At 18, he is already comparable to Troy Thompson, and is developing well in the cup games he is given. Another is Loginus Itodo whose attributes look good and played well out on loan. I will give him another loan spell to see if he can continue to develop. Mark Murray is the final keeper option who dominated the National League last season and has been shooting up in his attributes. Exciting times in that position.
With regard to the youth intake. Nobody looks to be in the team any time soon. It was dubbed a golden generation just like every other intake, but this remains to be seen.
Next Season
This last season was not indicative of a standard premier league season. Only Arsenal and Liverpool had quality seasons out of the top 6 and I expect the others to bounce back. While we played better this year and have become a better team overall, I would be happy finishing in the top 10 next season. With the Europa League, my expectations depend on the group we are given and the strength of other European leagues with the database not containing their nations. I would be thrilled if we could get out of the group stage.

Nuneaton 2029/30 Season
Played this season in two parts as I got busy. The season went about as expected. The defense held up while the attack suffered. Ben Molloy took over the striker role from Koo Keun-Ho and played well. We have a lot of talent coming up next season with strengthening in the wide positions (much needed). The only position that lacks quality in depth is the full back positions, particularly on the right side. We comfortably avoided relegation finishing 11th. Arsenal almost had an invincible season under Arteta but had a single loss to Tottenham. City's team is aged out and only finished a couple positions ahead of us.
To be honest, I don't remember the intake and don't have a screenshot saved, but I see nothing exciting in the squad. We will see in a few years.
Next Season
I expect another season of trying to avoid relegation. A task I think we can do. The only question now is if my squad has hit a ceiling. Many of the starters are in their early 20s and haven't been showing signs of development and while they are solid players, they wont help us push on in the league. Hopefully the younger depth players will grow into those roles. Our facilities have been increasing a bit, but the board seems unwilling to upgrade the training facilities again despite over 100 mil in the bank. The board is also currently looking at building a new stadium in Nuneaton (we are currently renting Port Vale's new stadium). Hopefully they put my name on it.

Nuneaton 2028/29 Season
I thought we had a strong enough squad to be competitive in the Championship and I was right. The only problem is that we don't really have the depth in enough positions to get us through the season without suffering from fatigue. We ended up winning the league while retaining our best players. Despite receiving a 14 million bid for our second best center back, I had to reject in the event we got promoted to the Prem as we need all the help we can get.
Overall, not impressed with the youth intakes anymore. Every player is a project except a keeper, who immediately becomes Troy Thompson's backup. Here it is:

I don't have any real expectations for how we'll perform in the prem. We played Arsenal and Liverpool last season. Arsenal beat us 1-0 and Liverpool 7-1. I hope to stay up, but we may not. In any event, I believe we can beat the other two teams to be promoted with us. And that is all I can hope for.

Nuneaton 2027/28 Season
Another good season. I believe that in both relative and absolute terms this is the best Nuneaton team to have taken to the field. I reckon half the squad are good enough for Championship level at the moment and a few more will develop into that level in the coming year. We pretty much walked the league and the Papa Johns Trophy this year and consistently competed with good Championship sides in the cups. All in all, a good season. We didn't lose anyone this season as well thanks too captain Koo Keun-Ho dissuading every attempt. The only problem is most of my best players are unwilling to sign new contracts, most of which will expire in the next two seasons. I hope this changes once we are in the Championship. One of the lads asked for a new contract but demanded a release clause of a measly 700k (he would get snapped up in an instant for that). That is the only looming problem at the moment.
We had a poor intake compared to other years. None of these guys can come into the team yet, but this speaks to our quality as a squad more than anything. Take a look:
Will Day has finally taken over for Koo Keun-Ho as our best player. Every game he is in he seems to contribute a goal or an assist, even when coming off the bench tired. Fantastic.
Final news is that in one season I jumped from being favored personnel to being a club legend. I think this is the first time I've achieved that status at a club since FM 15 when I took Stockport to the Prem.
Next season
We will be in the Championship. The goal. as always in our first season in a new league, is to avoid relegation. I want to get a feel for the competition and let our young squad mature. After this season, we will have a better sense for what we can achieve. I also hope our finances will be a bit healthier so I can finish upgrading youth recruitment and start upgrading the training facilities. We will also have a new keeper this season as Chris Mooney is no longer developing and his younger backup Troy Thompson (who is taller and is developing well) is performing better in games.

Nuneaton 2026/27 Season
Our defense finally performed well this season. Despite not having the league's best attack for the first time (I think), we held our own through defensive improvement. No longer are the days of only having two competent defenders. Now we have 5-6 (4 of them center backs). Koo Keun-Ho had another good season for us, but this year Ben Molloy really stood out and became our best striker. He also won himself a new contract.
Here is this year's intake. James will slot in alongside the hotly pursued Dobbin at center back.
Next season
This next season I hope to hold on to our key players, despite all the bids coming in. Thankfully Koo Keun-Ho usually gets them to want to stay. We actually got better as the season went on so I'm optimistic that this year we could potentially challenge for playoffs. The finances finally seem stable at this level with projections putting us around breaking even. I'm hoping we can turn a profit. I'm still at this weird point where the price we can demand for our best players isn't enough to make a difference financially. Our best player got an offer for 2 million. Maybe I could upgrade my youth facilities once.

First match in League One is against our local rivals/former senior affiliate Coventry. Also expected to be our first sell out. Absolutely epic. I thought the save would be over due to one of those "we will install a new manager" takeovers that went through. I guess they thought again when confronted with the fact that I won back to back promotions.
Update: we lost bad

Nuneaton 2025/26 Season
Another great season! The competition wasn't as tough as I was expecting and my team is quickly rising to the occasion. About half of them are class in League Two at this point. We finished the season 5th and went up through the playoffs with a youth intake player from this year scoring the winner. Speaking of our youth intake, this was the best one I've seen in my time playing. Every player was reported to be filled to the brim with potential and about 4-5 of them were in and around the first team with one of them being one of our best players from the start. I'm glad to have seen a return on our investment as we are losing cash quickly because of the max junior coaching and strong recruitment (200k a month).
Koo Keun-Ho once again didn't receive any offers for him so we enjoyed his talents for another season. He was the top scorer in League Two with 33 goals. Molloy (striker from first intake) knocked in 20 and Day (AM from last season's intake) also had about 20. We had another season of being top scorers in the league while simultaneously having the worst defense. This is probably due in part due to the fact that my center backs pick up tons of suspensions due to card accumulation and the fact that we have no real DMs or strong fullbacks. We really only have two center back options at the moment.
Here's this season's intake (another golden generation)
Not sure exactly what I am going to be doing with Rob Scott yet... also can't say I'm too familiar with how "stops play" will influence his performances.
Next Season
I have no clue what to expect going into next season. I'm pretty confident we won't go down. We have a number of players who are due to push on to become Championship standard in the coming season and a half if they continue their progression as they are.

Nuneaton 2024/25 Season
Right of the bat I need to extend a thousand thanks to Vikeologist for reintroducing the posts on player discipline. Once I got the feel for which players I could fine their work rate and determination started shooting up. I think it is what dragged us out of our disappointing midtable mediocrity and into real playoff contention.
To recap: we had a strong core of players going into this season. Our youth players were starting to overtake our veterans who began at the club and I was pleased with the strength of the side for the first time coming into the season. The majority of the side were youth intake and most of them continued to grow rapidly throughout the campaign.
Koo Keun-Ho, our brilliant striker coming off a 40 goal campaign (38 in the league) wasn't willing to extend his contract beyond the end of this season so I was hoping to get the most out of him in this campaign . He was equally brilliant this year and I also decided to put him on penalty duty this year as I felt I should try to maximize his output (is stat padding dirty?). The only problem was that he sustained a couple of injuries which kept him from playing in as many games, despite having a consistent rate of a goal a game. In addition, he slightly regressed. The good news, however, was that at the end of the campaign I managed to negotiate with him and after managing to fit his salary under the ceiling the board set I have him on a further 4 years. I hope by this time our promising forward prospects will lessen the blow of his inevitable departure.
In addition to Koo's strong campaign Ben Molloy from our first intake managed to bag 22 goals this season. Ultimately, while we had some cool additions in the attack, that isn't important. The story of the season was that we maintained our prodigious offensive output and got 25% better on defense. That was all we needed to narrowly win the league.
One good sign of the quality of the youth coming through is the fact that teams in the Football League are constantly offering $0 transfer bids for a handful of my prospects.
I should show you the man who is challenging Koo for the best playing in my team. Meet Will Day (again):
The youth intake this year was projected to be good, but the preview didn't instill confidence.
Here they are in actuality. Seems like a decent crop of players on paper, but most have pretty bad personalities, so I am not expecting much. The good thing is that a handful of these guys are already likely due to the fact that our junior coaching is almost maxed out (I think it will be maxed out going into next season). Oh yeah this is the 4th straight intake that is considered a "golden generation" by HoYD. Bless him. If he keeps whispering those words to me he may yet keep his job.
Next Season
This coming season I think we could go down. We performed well against League Two sides in the FA Cup but we were riding high in the league. I can't expect our mentality to keep up in League Two. I just hope I don't get fired. I noticed that the jump from "good" junior coaching to "excellent" junior coaching had a non-linear jump in monthly cost (as far as I can tell). Now that it is "exceptional" I pray that it doesn't tank our finances. Other than that, I expect many of our best players will want to leave. Some wont resign contracts and others will likely be poached. I've already had rumblings about that stuff and Koo Keun-Ho prefigures this.

Nuneaton 2023/24 Season
This season, in my view, has solidified the viability of this save. Year after year, the finances are growing and the board are letting us upgrade the facilities. The aging set of original players have for the most part been phased out of the team. Our new lads are looking capable of keeping us in the division and some even look as though they have the potential to carry us forward. I will show you a couple of those later in this post. All in all, this is looking like it is now self-sustaining.
We headed into this year on the back of a disappointing campaign. We had a great start to the previous season which had us challenging for playoff positions until about mid season where our form fell off a cliff and we couldn't win games to save our lives. We ended up the season 7 points off relegation, if memory serves. We were the top scoring team that year, despite finishing 19th, a testament to our poor defensive record. Because of this I decided to give the starting spot to our youthful keeper Chris Mooney instead of our veteran Breeden, despite Breeden consistently having around a 7 average rating. Mooney was a better "technical" keeper but lacked heavily in the mentals. It turned out that Mooney wasn't noticeably better than Breeden but he increased in attributes rapidly, giving me faith in his potential.
This season, I was hoping to have a more comfortable survival in the National League. I was hoping our defense would be a little better as our fullbacks improved. This didn't happen, however, Our defense was terrible, so I embraced it and went all in on attack. I later realized that despite how good the technical and mental stats were of my 36 year old center back captain, having 3 pace and 4 strength isn't conducive to success any scenario except when sitting in a low block, so later in the season I swapped him with one of our extremely promising center back prospects (I will share his profile later). The season had a similar shape as last one. We had a strong start, launching us into playoff contention, but around midseason we dropped off in form. Despite this we managed to finish 11th.
While our defense wasn't anything to write home about (and likely wont be for a few more seasons), our offense deserves the highest praise. Koo Keun-Ho, our young Korean striker decided to place money on himself being the league's top scorer after seeing that his name was among the favorites for that distinction. He scored 38 league goals this year. The only downer is that last year is his final year under contract and he wont discuss a new one. There was reported interest from a few League Two clubs in December and January, but no formal bids. I may look to sell him if we can squeeze 100k or more out of his, but otherwise, I'll just keep him until his contract expires. Class player. Ollie Bassett, another original at the club, scored 25 in the league and is arguably more important than Koo Keun-Ho as he is an incredibly versatile player who fills our weak points in attack whenever the appear as a result of fitness and suspension.
When it comes to the products of the academy under my tenure (Koo Keun-Ho is an academy product, but from the year before I took over) we've had a few new faces emerge.
Chris Mooney was the keeper who took over from Mr. Breeden. Mooney was one of three keepers considered for the role at the start of the season. Him, Breeden, and Ruff were all marked with the same number of stars, but Breeden and Ruff were inferior technically, with Ruff's only tangible advantage being his height (something I value in a keeper to be fair). Mooney repaid this faith by improving considerably, and even getting taller for us. He was also a decent keeper. He will be our keeper for the foreseeable future.
Lee Dobbin starting getting game time for us when we saw an extraordinary training report flashing his massive potential for us (see first image below). He took over the center back job from our captain in the final third of the season and was serviceable. I'm hoping he will be a long term solution to our defensive problem.
Ben Molloy has been a great secondary striker, creating as much as he scores. He was in my plans at the start of the season, but started receiving regular starting minutes after I saw strong growth from him (see pic below). I'm excited for his future and can see him being a fixture in a two man strike partnership going forward.
We have two others that aren't worth showing pictures of. Kendale Sargeant and Ky-mani Calder Shenton. Sargeant played midfield, a position which is very weak for us, and played it decently. He hasn't been growing on account of his unambitious personality I think. He is still young, so we shall see. Currently being mentored. Ky-Manu Calder-Shenton is a player who probably doesn't have much developing left. He doesn't have any apparent personality problems, but he hasn't been growing regardless. I often see this with my academy players who come in already up to the standard of my squad. He is a pace merchant and not much else. He was solid for us, but accumulated a lot of suspensions and missed time due to fitness concerns. He will be around for the time to come, but I don't see him around long term.
Youth Intake
Here's the preview to the intake:
This intake is our best-looking one. Obviously it will be seen which one is the most important long-term, but this has 3 players who are already in and around the first team and 2 more who are squad depth options, and a few more who are decent prospects. I believe this is our third consecutive "golden generation." I don't know whether this is because the quality of my team is so abysmal that almost any player could do a job for us, or whether it is the fact that my HoYD has terrible scout ratings, or if we are just getting lucky, but I've never had more than one "golden generation" in a row. In any event, this intake made me very optimistic.
Next Season
This coming season I'm ultimately looking for another mid table finish, but I want to be challenging for promotion throughout too. This season was rather boring after our poor run midseason as we weren't playing for anything during the final third. I was so bored that I played the infamous oval formation (no central midfielders) for a game. We are also at the point where I am almost fielding entire teams of regens, and I hope to continue this with a few more coming into the first team.

2022/23 Season - Nuneaton
General Updates
After a successful promotion campaign out of the Vanarma National League North the previous season, we went into this one fearful of the level of our opponents. After our first run of games I was thinking we would be in for a potential playoff bound season again, but suddenly we became incapable of winning in the league. No matter how much we scored, the opponent would beat us, it seemed. All in all, we ended up finishing 19th, missing relegation by 7 or so points.
Our 35 year old keeper who has been our player of the season for two years now isn't the clear number one any more. As a team, we both scored the most goals in the league and conceded the most goals. I have to look at our keeper with scepticism despite his high average rating. Furthermore, it isn't clear he is better than our youngsters. The youngsters all have better technical and physical abilities than the veteran, but the veteran has them beat handily mentally. We will see how this develops.
With regard to our super youngster Koo Keun, Ho... when I panicked and resigned him after Ebbsfleet made an offer, I thought I had only made the mistake of giving him a 10k wage hike that kicked in after 20 matches. But I also happened to overlook the fact that the slippery fella added in a 30% per annum wage increase which now makes him take up 15% of our total wage spend. He doesn't want to negotiate another contract as he feels he's too big for the club (delusion in my opinion), so either I look to sell him for pennies, or I eat the wage and keep him on for the next 4 years, with that ever expanding contract.
With those two decisions upcoming, other than that we have remained relatively the same. The replacement for Iron man Carl Baker, Isaiah Osbourne has also decided to retire, leaving us without a quality midfielder. This means I will finally have to put in an academy lad full-time into the squad. Matt Ashworth hasn't been setting the world alight and his development has been subpar as well. I can see him in the side a lot this year, but not far into the future unless something gives.
We have some other youth lads coming through this season, but I'll touch more on that once the next season is done.
Youth Intake
Here is the preview of the intake. Another "Golden Generation"
Here is the resulting intake:
Next Season
Next season I'm once again hoping to avoid the drop. Mainly, I'm hoping to have some breakthrough players and have some clarity on the trajectory and state of the team. Consistent performances and the young guys taking the positions of the older guys is key here.

2021/22 Season - Nuneaton
So the first season with Nuneaton is done. I wrote the previous update after a poor run of form where we consistently played well, but didn't get the results we had wanted. After the update we were able to turn those losses into draws and draws into wins. I had written off playoffs with about 14 games remaining but after the good run we found ourselves three points off with 6 remaining games. After a great win and all of our rivals losing their games we found ourselves in 6th, a position we managed to hold until the end of the season.
Before we get to what happened in the playoffs, here was our intake. It was considered a golden generation and there are a few players I like, namely Molloy, Gater, Higgins, and Ashworth. I gave Molloy and Ashworth a game to introduce them to the side. The strategy for picking the HoYD was to find someone with decent attributes and a great personality. It just so happened that the one model professional we found was a decent HoYD.
Ashworth looks the type of player who can replace our 39 year old captain and iron man Baker, who has been great for us this season, even developing his attributes. He has chosen to retire, however, and Ashworth is a good passer and leader already at 16.
Here's Baker being an absolute iron man playing 54 matches without so much as picking up a knock:
Despite this level of play, usage, and the fact his stats increased marginally, he chose to retire, despite my protestations. I may bring him on as a youth coach due to his having the resolute personality.
A notable thing is that our best striker is a youth product, presumably from last year's intake from Busan, South Korea. He had been approached by Ebbsfleet so I gave him a contract that was higher than I wanted, just to be safe.
Here are his season performances:
Back to the playoffs. We were matched against Alfreton away for the round. Alfreton was a team we handled well this season so I was confident going into it. We won 6-2 with Baker scoring a hat trick of penalties.
We then handled Hereford in the semis in a close match.
In the final we faced Blyth who were 7th in the league going into the playoffs. The game was tied 1-1 in the 70th minute, but Koo Keun-Ho came on as a sub and scored the goal to send us up. The man is adding to his legacy early.
There's no doubt (and no surprise) that we are severely outclassed with regard to the talent of our players. Every time we get signing recommendations they are 4 stars or higher, although we have no scouts so I can't be confident about that.
In any event, we are going up and the finances are looking healthy. We had about 100k in profit and upgraded our junior coaching to adequate and recruitment to fairly basic.
Here's proof we didn't make any signings (the sales were from before I joined the club)
Here's the league table:
Next season I'm hoping we can avoid the relegation zone so well that we can afford to play more of the fringe youth players in the second half of the season.

Entering the management gig, I saw there were a few regens already at the club who were decent or had the potential to be decent. One of these was Koo Keun-Ho of Busan. He has a teammate who is also from Busan, but not quite as far along in his development. They are both strikers. Since all my regens were 16 I couldn't sign them to real contracts, despite my wanting to. As Koo Keun-Ho is arguably my best striker, I played him. He did so well, however, that upon turning 17 and getting his non-contract pre-contract a bunch of teams were coming in for him. I wanted to nip this in the bud when he turned 17 by offering him a contract but he refused to speak as he had jut signed a new one. Here's to hoping he signs it.
In other news, Carl Baker, our 39 year old midfielder and captain is continuing his development it seems
In the league we are doing okay. We are not in danger of relegation and are even to or are outplaying most sides. I am happy we have this stability to go forward and am not sure whether relegation is always a good thing, though I think we could stay up in the National League as well.
As for facilities, the board is not budging on any improvements to junior coaching, facilities, or recruitment, despite us being almost 200k in the black and consistently turning a profit month after month. Perhaps it would've been prudent to have picked a club with a club philosophy that emphasized youth development as the board would be more willing to invest. Nevertheless. I expect with a good season and a good financial forecast coming, they will relent eventually.
Will post season update tomorrow hopefully. Just had to share these two developments before the screenshots passed.

We won everything this year. It wasn't an invincible season this year, but we were just as strong. Pedri forced his way out to Man City for $165 mil in January and we brought in Tonali's replacement with that money. We also sold one of our academy grads with the wonderkid tag to Dortmund for $21 mil as he wasn't good enough for the team and at 20 had slowed his development. We sold on a few other academy players in January and I look forward to seeing their progress at their new clubs. Haaland for Liverpool was the top goal scorer in the league with one more goal than Moriba and 7 more than Mbappe. Kalvin Phillips at age 30 finally won player of the year in the league and will hopefully finally be afforded legend status at the club. Meslier is looking like he will slowly lose his position to the wonderkid Mashaba as Mashaba has surpassed him on paper and is just 21, but Meslier continues to be more consistent. We shall see what next season holds.
We still have a reasonably young team. Phillips is 30. We have a replacement, but if that replacement matches his level remains to be seen.

Window went well despite losing Haaland. Team feels bulletproof. Had to choose between Mbappe and Todibo for similar prices and despite needing Todibo more, he wasn't a perfect fit for my system and it was hard to pass up on Mbappe despite Mbappe not being a perfect fit either. We sold Sandro Tonali and needed to replace him. We brought in the wonderkid who was supposed to be his replacement but he can play three different spots in our system and potentially might play a different role than Tonali. We identified a youngster from Napoli who looks like he can do a job but there aren't many who are ready-made who can so it's good to bring in youngsters to develop into that role. We have one homegrown youngster who is developing into the role nicely.
The wonderkid:

Haaland has been sold to Liverpool as his release clause was met. Not sure who we'll replace him with yet but we have $200 mil in the bank now. We also sold our cup keeper for $60 mil to Southampton to make space for our big South African wonderkid keeper. Looking at Barcelona's Moriba with a view to push Havertz forward to play a false 9.
With regard to our club legends:
Kalvin Phillips and Carles Alena have ascended the icon board such that I think after another good season they will be made club legends. Alena has been the best player in the Premier League for two seasons now so I understand why he isn't yet a legend, but Phillips is a lad who has been at Leeds since the Championship and has held down his position in the team all those years. He took up the captaincy and led this team from the relegation zone to the Premier League title (4 straight years) and two straight Champions Leagues along with a handful of other trophies. He persevered and remained a starter even after all the turnover in the squad. He survived a hungry Camavinga on his heels, trying to take his position. He was the fan's player of the season every year except the past two with Alena. During these Alena years he elevated his play beyond those earlier years and became a true international star. Despite all this, and much more unsaid, he isn't a legend yet. But one more season and he will thank God.
For my manager, despite taking this team to all this glory out of the relegation zone we aren't even a club icon. Our manager is now in the hall of fame in this game solely with accomplishments achieved at this club. Keep in mind Bielsa is a club legend when he didn't do a fraction of what I've done. Anyway, rant over. The system irritates me.

Season is over and I'm happy. After having some fun with the Oval tactic and losing both the Community Shield and Super Cup, I went back to a more usable formation to play out the year.
With this change we won all of the remaining trophies and won the League as invincibles. Also, Arsenal almost got relegated after Thierry Henry had a terrible start as their manager, after Patrick Viera's terrible tenure. Now they have Roberto Martinez. It took till the last game day for Arsenal to get out of the relegation zone with their win over bottom of the table Burnley and Newcastle's loss to 5th place Fulham with our wonderkid goalkeeper (over their on loan) having a 7.9 rating for that win. In a way I feel responsible for Arsenal's survival and hope they can turn it around. They have a good squad still. Unfortunately for them, however, Nicolas Pepe has turned into a god after leaving Arsenal being last year's top scorer for a 3rd place Southampton on 24 goals and being this years second top goal scorer for them on 18.
Once again Carles Alena had a fantastic season, winning the player of the year award in the EPL (while not getting into the best XI), and we've managed to get the most out of club icon Kalvin Phillips for the second season (soon club legend God willing). Erling Haaland was the leading scorer in the league with 22, but it felt like most of his goals came from penalties.
Pedri, after coming in in January last year, found his feet and started performing at a world class level and our winger Calafiori had a 10 goal 10 assist (more in both categories iirc) season in the league and came good for us. Ousmane Dembele was surprisingly good for us despite us only bringing him in as a business deal. After Barcelona stole Camavinga for us (who we weren't using to his fullest potential) for $164 million we brought in Tottenham's Sandro Tonali to replace him and Tonali did a great job. In January we brought in Kai Havertz from Chelsea and Ryan Gravenberch from Ajax to give us some extra class in the side as well as versatility after selling the youngster Jizz Sarpong. Sarpong had been developing really well, but whenever I gave him time in the side, despite his good attributes, he failed to perform for us. as he wasn't being utilized naturally, as home grown talent Nohan Kenneh was much better than him, I sold him to Barcelona after they came in with a sizeable bid. Furthermore we have, as I mentioned in previous posts, so many great center backs coming up through the academy with another one already looking ready for the first team from last season's intake. Sarpong just didn't have a place. We also plan on bringing in a wonderkid center back I had been after for the longest time on a free for next season so things were just stacked against Sarpong, who really only had his name going for him. I should also mention that Fofana and Badiashile are both 24 and are playing fantastically.
The other problem we have is the stockpile of goalkeepers we have. Illan Meslier is 25, has English nationality, has been at the club, as a starter, for the entire save, has been performing well, and is winning world goalkeeping honors yet despite this we have a backup keeper at 20 who already looks a strong goalkeeper for the prem who we got on a free from Barca and the aforementioned wonderkid keeper who was on loan at Fulham who is 6'6" (I like tall goalkeepers) and already looks a menace at 19. PSG were sniffing around Meslier, but weren't willing to really break the bank, even to just secure the agreed upon $85 million Meslier and I agreed upon to bring him in so we happily stuck with him. Rationally, I know I should move on from France's number 1 as his value is really high for a keeper who isn't world class attributes-wise, but I also like the idea of him being at the club for the long haul despite not being homegrown.
In other news I added Pablo Hernandez to my staff as I remember that being a goal in similar editions of this challenge. Hernandez is our loan manager with terrible attributes, but I don't use that role anyway and I don't mind wasting 300k a year to have him, a club favorite, around. Next season Kalvin Phillips will be 30 so I will look to start grooming him into a coaching role. I already gave Liam Cooper and Stuart Dallas some considerable coaching training but after seeing Dallas' attributes it doesn't look the smartest idea. We will see what we can do.
Next season we have the Club World Cup which I will take seriously along with the Community Shield and Super Cup. This season I was able to dominate every team in the league, home or away, barring one game against City where we drew 0-0 on 4 shots a piece. Bodes well for the future. Intake this year wasn't great but we signed a few up who could do something.

So Barcelona stole Camavinga from us. I am upset as he was a part of the long game. Also England has this rule where you cannot sign more than six players from abroad who are u-21. Meaning I cannot find a world class replacement who is under 21 without stepping on the toes of some of our other signings.

We won everything we could win this season. The league, the FA Cup, the Carabao Cup, the Community Shield, the Champions League. Only the league was hairy with Liverpool taking us down to the last match day only for us to get by on two goals in injury time. The notable signings this year have been Erling Haaland, bringing him back to Leeds and Pedri in from Barcelona in January. Pedri hasn't been great for us yet, but I hope he can kick into gear next season. Barcelona have been sniffing around our Camavinga for months now with the now senile Messi luring him over. Camavinga still has some years on his contract and while he doesn't want to resign a new one at the moment, he could go if Barcelona meet his $160 million release clause. I would prefer he not as he and Kalvin Phillips have been playing the crucial pivot role in our formation and Phillips is now 28, so I'd like Camavinga to continue being around. Phillips had his best year of his career and truly made the captaincy his own. Carles Alena had the best season I've seen on FM since I had a center back who averaged an 8+ average rating for 4 straight seasons while I ascended the English league system due to that FM's broken long throw system. Despite the three Prems, two FA Cups, three Carabao Cups, two Community Shields, and Champions League we've won with Kalvin Phillips being one of the best players in out side, he is still just on icon with Carles Alena sneaking up on him after a mediocre season and one fantastic season. Those two are the only icons so far and I am just a club favorite despite having led a recently promoted, 19th place struggler to these heights. I don't understand this system.
As it regards youth at this club, we have fully integrated Kenneh into the first team, while selling Rico Richards for 20 million, Cresswell for 11 million, and some others for good money as well. We had another promising intake, but we have another center back. So now we have about 8 promising young center backs in our team, including the starters, all of whom are under 24.
