I never make promises, but I obviously miss them sometimes on contract renewals. Its just annoying when my right back who has played every game for 2 years as my right back demands a meeting to ask why Im not playing him at right wing. One. you are a crap right winger... literally 5th choice according to the chart Two. my formation doesnt have a right winger. There is nothign I can do at this point to placate him. I doubt I can get a decent player for the same value if someone else does but him in the January window. He is actually pretty average in terms of stats and performace (solid 7s most of the time). But this game trying to sign good players not listed is astronomical, and I get a measily amount from the board which Id rather not blow all on a right back. Would you recommend upgrading then?

Hello I just realised when I signed my only right back to a new contract I promised him he could play attacking right midfield... a position that does not even exist in my team. I heard you can import a FM2023 game into FM2024... Does FM2024 still have ridiculous promise defaults when doing contracts? Try as I might, I keep end up offering contracts with non existent roles for the players. This is like the worst "feature" I have seen in my FM/CM playing days (ie since the first one with the vidiprinter and fake names). Tanks!

I am about 6 seasons in and never heard any music being played at any point in the game. Now in a match between Dortmund and Benfica, the CL tune is playing during the game Whats going on there? Also crowd sounds have become a bit intermittent. Is my game buging out?

Answers and replys to what? the oonly place I have seen promises are when talking to the agent prior to working out the contract, and at the end of the season when talking to the squad. I do control that now, but its a bit late. I have had to sell 2 top players. I convinced Gakpo to stay (fortunately). I have one full back (Renan Lodi)... He had played 8 games as a wingback before I noticed I had a promise to make him a complete fullback. I have now played him in that position for 8 games and he is upset... I still have no idea of the difference between a complete fullback and a wingback, but hey. I still have 2 days and one game to fulfill the promise. I am hoping that will tip the balance, but the window closes 5 days later. I worked out that i can preprogramme the tactic screen so that when I bring on subs they automatically play in the role they want, so I managed to get my backup LB to be happy in his "fullback" role. Not "complete fullback", mind... That would really **** him off.

I have had several promises that I didnt make to my 4 star players that I signed in preseason I didnt realise until too late, and now my team is a bit buggered. I believe that my DoF negotiated contracts with positional promises that dont exist in the team. I now fully control my contract negotiations. I signed an 18 year old Colombian youth who would not negotiate on his star player status (whatever...) But I checked under promises, and he has a positional promise that I specifically deselected. He aint gonna start matches... and I am certainly not going to change my fullback from complete to standard everytime I bring him on... I already had to change it for the first team player. So basically I have wasted a ton of money on another player who will want to leave in 6 months. This has to be the worst "feature" in any game I have played. Its like ANTIFUN. There should be an option to turn it off... or fix the ******** invented arsepull promises... Oh I doubt we will get another patch now... Can I upgrade my save game to FM2023/4? Or will that have promises too?

My 4 best players all have positional promises that I cant really fulfill.. I dont remember making any promises, in fact I have been burnt so many times before, I am wondering if I let my Director of Football negociate on my behalf as I thought he might get me a better deal? Also, if I offer an improved contract, does that override the initial promise? Thanks

Im not too bothered about players already in the database. Just have an option to flip in player history that shows all game or league games.

BE nice if it wasnt stuck showing league goals only in pretty much everywhere from player and club records? Would be nice to be able to see total goals (and I know real players dont have this breakdown for past seasons). I know you can add in the career goal field on scouting and squad screens, so the data is in there. Also be nice to see a league table of top goal scorers by club

Hello I use a diamond system in midfield. While The are a lot of AMC and DMC players, here are far fewer LM and RM players. I have a lot of decent u21 and u18 players that I could train for a new position, but I am struggling to find a way to do this easily I can only find the main training screen which does the first team squad. This screen is helpful as it shows the current positional aptitude for each player. The u21 and u18 training screen is burried, and has no functionality, just a list of players with a drop down to retrain. I really need to be able to see the current areas they can play so I know if they are already iseful in another position. Is there another screen I can use or can I retrain through the player wscreen like in previous versions? I really like this skin and down want to have to relearn a new one and have to spend hours reconfiguing serach, scouting and tactics screens etc. Cheers !!!

I had a bit of a cleanout after my first season, releasing anyone under 3 stars from my u21 team. But then I thought I want most of the rest on loan to gain some experience. Any that hit 21 I want to keep around to try to being into my first team during cups games How do most people handle their u21 squads? Also, what is the difference between the development list and listing for a loan?

In my option, Kick Off 2 was better than SWOS. I think Sensi was all a bit too easy. It took a fair amount of skill to play Kick Off 2 well. Having to actually control the ball when you ran, and hitting a pass on the run was also quite tricky... It was all too easy to slice the ball straight into the stands... just like in real life. Sensi you could knock it around like Dutch in the 70s after about 10 minutes. The pitch felt a bit bigger too. I also liked that I could import my PM team in, and tactics too. I felt that it always gave me an edge over my friends. I used to save scum the season endings to make sure I had a top class intake the following year so I ended up with a team that was as good as or better than the international sides in KO2. The tactics editor (in PM) allowed you to place players specifically depending where the ball was on the pitch (which is probably better than the FM tactics editor imho), which made it easy to exploit players with high stamina and pace. You could position people exactly on the corners too. Of course all my mates emmigrated to Sensi when it came out. I would still kick their arses on Speedball 2 though.. Super Nashwan aint got nothin'...

I think I may have actually cried when I bought player manager 2 and saw it was completely changed from the original. Kick Off 2 is still the greatest fooball game ever made.

IS there an option to get the assitant top have player interaction for promises? Apparently I promised half my squad I would reduce the first team squad... I am fairly certain I did not make those promises. Bit cheeky when my squad consists of 25 players, whom I have to rotate to keep everyone fit , and 3-4 will be out injured for any given time. I probably have one midfielder too many... I could maybe dump one striker. Would moving a player to the u21 sufice?

I worked out, pressing either alt or tab stops the timeout... both together signifies the apocalypse. It never used to do this in Fm2014 or FM2019. But anyway

Well.. My first youth intake was pretty crap, and I managed to persuade 3 half decent players to join from other teams, despite offering about 30 players contracts. Cant sign a single european youngster as they think they wont play. Was obviously doing that wrong. Do I have to double their contract demand. I am top of the league, winner of the league cup, and still in both the CL and FA Cup, so my reputations should be reasonable at this point There goes my "developing youth" strategy. Its going to have to be "corner the Bosman market" strategy, going forward, unless some of those transfer fees come down. Go any tips for how to manage this better?

I remember the original football manager on the c64. It was pretty naff even by the standards of the day. It wasnt until the 16 bit computers that decent games started to come out. I remember having Premier Manager which was decent. The Manager which was ok. Player Manager which i loved because you could export your team into kick off 2, and the match engine was quite fun to watch. Championship Manager kinda blew them all away though. It was completely minimal in terms of graphics, but went harder into stats and spreadsheets. And the text match commentary made you have to imagine what was going on. Bit of a jump in realism since then. I wonder what football manager 2063 will be like? You can knock up your leftbacks missus in proper VR, choose which Swiss bank to hide your earnings, or maybe pay a cartel to kidnap those annoying agents, and lop a finger off every time one of my lovely contract offers gets rejected.

Where are the rules? I cant read them again, as I didnt read them the first time. Why cant I loan them abroad for a couple of years, and when they have improved offer a new contract?

I have signed a bunch of potential superstars, but I couldnt get work permits for them. Is that a problem? Can i just train them in my youth team, or load them out, and then offer them a better contract when they get older, and hope that I get the permit?
