  1. Faintly strikes me as a non-goalscoring version of McTominay.
  2. Wait until the FA renews his contract again. Man Utd have literally just had 60-game Southgate type season from Ten Hag and came to the decision, to offer him a new deal.
  3. England are not getting the ball out of defence very well, and aside from Pickford lumping it in a rage, it's because it only going through Rice. Mainoo is an option that helps with that aspect. He should play. England have been carrying players. Both TAA and Gallagher totally ineffective in a key position. See point above. But they are also carrying Kane. We might need his composure late in games but bench him until an hour has been played. Get energy and pace up top to stretch the game a bit. Keep Bellingham where he is and see if he benefits from Mainoo and a different striker. Look at the fitness of Saka vs Palmer. At this point, play Palmer simply if he's fresher. Keep Trent out of the team. Left wing. This is England's biggest problem in that the solutions are handicapped by lack of a left back. Keep Foden if Shaw can play. If Shaw can't then hope for the best. Maybe Gordon but if it's that option then Foden should be dropped. I wouldn't reorganise the rest of the team to simply accomodate Foden elsewhere. It's too much tinkering. But then he becomes a good option obviously to replace Bellingham if he continues to underperform.
  4. To start/drop Trent and then sub Gallagher today at HT is just an obvious sign of poor management. How could he (GS) think either were the answer. Add that to selecting Shaw; not taking Grealish and all the other problems. The one thing that needs to happen from here on is we need pace in this side. Pace in the build up, pace to make runs in behind; pace for 1 on 1s. It will start to fix a few problems and give ball players the space they need. At this point, to me, Kane looks more and more like a substitute. Someone to bring on when the game has been stretched open. He's not providing pace, not pressing, and not playing high enough to at least occupy a central defender or two enough.
  5. There are some "leggy" players in the squad. Long seasons showing on Kane, Bellingham and possibly the Arsenal players.
  6. Gareth (interview preview) - I thought there were a lot of positives. Group stages are not easy. But I pleased with the organisation, the concentration. We showed a lot of composure, we were difficult to beat, and it's not easy you know. Slovenia have a lor of very good players and we have to respect that, But the main thing is we're through, and we've won the groups, another clean sheet.
  7. Kane off. Gallagher off. Trippier off. If Shaw is not ready for 45mins by the end of the group stage, he shouldn't have been taken.
  8. Bellingham goes up alongside Kane to press. And then more often it's Kane who is the one dropping back into midfield. What's going on with that? This shape is disfunctional.
  9. Lee Dixon (in game pundit), can usefully tell us if the ball has been mis-controlled, cause we're too thick to realise. The whole single pivot thing, Gallagher's role...he's totally oblivious to this though on commentary.
  10. Sideways, slow, fearful, drab, weak, meek, uncoordinated, passionless, defensive, timid, turgid, clueless, uninventive, boring, dated, uninspired, crap.
