If it happens only at game time, that points to a graphics issue. Maybe have a look at the graphics card driver and, if the game was working fine recently, roll the driver back to the previous one and see if that helps.  Do this without having any other 3rd party graphics installed.

Yeah I was thinking it might be something graphics related. Turns out Sega posted this as a known issue on one of their support pages a few days ago and for some reason disabling the wifi pre-match seems to fix the issue. Thanks anyway.

  2. Does anyone know why this error message occurs every time I try to play a match?

I’ve never had this problem before, been playing the game for years without a single error, now for some reason this crashing has appeared out of nowhere and happens on every save I have.

I’ve cleared all the caches, removed the graphics and custom skins, clean installed all the folders etc but nothing makes a difference or resolves the issue. Game was working fine a week ago, now suddenly it crashes every time.

Any help and advice is much appreciated thanks.

I've done this with Leyton Orient.

Use the create-a-club function.  Eventually you get presented with the rename your club screen where you can also choose your club kit colours, nickname and so on.  You can also choose your affiliate clubs (choose the other Red Bull clubs here) and define what type of affiliation you want, such as sharing scouting knowledge, first refusal on players, marketing, sharing the Board etc.

It won't be entirely as if you are part of the Red Bull group, but I've always found it to be good enough.

And here's a logo you can use in game too (select it from that same choose club name screen).

thanks for that! seems to be what i'm after.

  4. Basically I want to start a new custom save where Fulham have essentially become "RedBull London" as part of the latest edition to the RedBull Group, but I'm not sure the best way to go about this.

I'm not looking to start from zero with no staff or players in Sunday league etc, I essentially just want to "re-brand" Fulham as if they had a RB takeover, add in the relevant RB affiliates, staff, club vision, club colours/kits etc - all the general stuff you'd expect from a custom RedBull save.

I've looked around for guides on the best way to do it but can't seem to find the real 'how to' of what I'm after. If anyone could advise best practice or point me in the direction of resources for making such a custom save it would be much appreciated thanks.

I too am in a long term save on FM22. I looked into in editors yesterday strangely. I came across one from FMscout. It's free to get and view stuff but will need to pay to use it. I'm pretty sure you can change kits on it. I only wanted to gain access so I could see what my clubs rep was in figures rather than stars compared to other clubs that are 5 star reputation. Turns out my club has a rep of 8904 out of 10k. I'm assuming if it hits 9k you go to 5 stars.

Yeah I've heard of the FMRTE thing but I'm sure I read somewhere using 3rd party things can possibly damage the save (somehow?). I've not tried it myself, so I'm not sure what it's like, but there does seem to be a lot of reports on Steam of people buying the IGE only for it to disappear after purchase or for it not to work. Not exactly a wealth of editor options out there, especially for an older game.

The option to purchase the ingame editor is in the start screen menu via downloads and i guess it still is possible.

If so you then can change your trikot kits colour and if you play the 3D game the style of each part.

It should work for 2D mode as well as you are able to change the "icon".

PS: Not all editor options are availabe in any of the...uh, i dont know the word...in any of the left side selections for the screen you look at.

When you go to competition i.e. you can for sure edit your trikot kit via the pen icon on top of the topbar - chose edit kit from the dropdown menu.

Thanks for the info, I'll look into it cheers.

  7. I'm a casual player who is quite a ways into a fun save on FM22 version however I'm starting to get a bit bored of watching the same colour dots zip around my screen each season (I only play in 2D mode) so I was wondering if I can still purchase the IGE, would it be possible to change a club's kit colours so I can have different coloured kit dots each season or is this something the IGE does not do?

    Thanks in advance.

You can delete them if  you don't play any savegames that were started using them, otherwise they won't load properly as bits of the database are still required.

If the games you play are just using 2240, then you'd be fine to remove the others

Excellent, thanks for the info. I'm pretty sure my saves are all 22.4, is there a way I could check what version they were started on before deleting?

  9. Does anyone know if it is ok to delete older/obsolete databases prior to the latest version of the game being installed? I occasionally play FM22 on an older MacAir with the last database being v22.4.1 so in theory should I not just need the '2240' folder, not the other ones which are taking up ~1.5gb space? Not a lot I know, but if I can delete them and free up some harddisk without causing current or future games to crash it would be preferential. Any info on this is appreciated, thanks.

  10. I want to start a new save with a takeover at some point being added to my club (it's not a club that typically gets one in the FM world), but I can't seem to find an option to make this happen in the editor.  Does anyone know the best way to do this, so at some point I can have a new board/owner installed and perhaps a post-takeover budget increase? Thanks.

  11. I have a custom database for FM22 which has effectively made it so Brexit never happened and EU people can be signed as normal per previous games, however foreign players already in the squad still have the green 'Set' Settled Status icon next to their name. Is there anyway I can remove this 'Set' icon as it shouldn't exist or be applicable in a no-Brexit database? Thanks.

  12. I'm trying to find a custom DB that was published about a year ago where someone had made it so that all league's placement prize money was inverted so the lower down the table you finished the more money you'd get in order to make each league more competative and balanced, but I cannot seem to find this DB anywhere.

Does this ring any bells for anyone who could perhaps point me in the direction of it?

    Thanks.

I wonder whether having a winger with cuts in trait would make a difference and see more inverted play than currently?

It's an interesting thought. Don't think I'd tried that one when I was testing a few variables. Will have to do a few test games of a natural-IW playing as a winger (not IW) but on his weaker/opposite side, with this instruction, so maybe he'll cut inside more then. Will add it to my list cheers.

I know a lot of people are upset about this bug, but I honestly haven't been experiencing it in the way others have.

Here's a screenshot of the player I signed specifically to play at IW-A on my team's left side followed by this season stats and attributes (images 1, 2, 3).

And another screenshot of the times my other wing played on the left side in that role.

    And finally, my tactic.

As you can see, the results are pretty good: five total and five assists apiece from National League North-levels of talent, not bad production from a bugged position!

I watch matches with extended highlights on and the IW passes the eye-test for me *personally* since they run off the ball into the space created by my TF or occupy opposing CBs, freeing space for my mez, winger, or TF to exploit.

Thanks for the info. I'm still playing around with trying to get a tactic that can get some degree of tune out of the roles. I like their off-the-ball movement and the finishing is good, just the 'run with ball' I can't seem to get going.

I have a unbeaten (in league) home record with inverted guys 3 seasons in, I think it's because I commit to playing narrow vertical tiki taka, focused through the middle and also asked the groundsman to set up the pitch up accordingly (the one that says wide players will likely struggle). Also had slightly better luck with IWs than IFs until recently. The lack of cutting inside while dribbling is still a problem but the composed, good finishers as IFs will make dangerous runs inside. The good crossers and passers used as IWs usually rack up good assists. There have probably been a large amount of my goals scored via my AMR-IW hitting an aerial ball to the AML-IF. I see the ME problems but have got enough success from the players to persist with it. I also mentioned elsewhere that too often they look to finish a chance at the keeper's near post with their weaker foot, rather than shaping to finish at the far post with their preferred foot as you'd expect. That kinda bothers me more than the lack of inward dribbling tbh.

Thanks for the info, will give a try to applying that in my test save, see how it goes. I like their play other than the non-existent dribbling factor.

  16. As we know, SI are aware of the issue with IW/IFs not performing as they should and the recent update didn’t fix it, however I wondered if anyone has found a best solution so far to suit a tactic that uses them?

I’ve ran tests with multiple teams with multiple TI’s and PI’s to try to get my IW/IFs to cut inside with the ball (without the ball they sometimes do), but nothing I try seems to have any effect one way or the other, regardless if my IW/IFs are set to Attack or Support or I if set team mentality to play wide or narrow, dribble, press, high/low tempo etc.

There are a lot of positives about the FM22 ME, but it's very disappointing that to enjoy it fully it seems you have to use tactics that don’t involve these roles, so perhaps this could be a thread for ideas/discoveries that offer best practice to finding a way to play with IW/IFs within a given setup so it isn't so infuriating watching them do the opposite of what they're supposed to do?

All and any suggestions for getting some functionality out of these key roles welcome. Thanks.

  17. I've not played FM for agesss but decided to start a new save, just started the season and I'm noticing my performance/data analysts are providing pretty much ZERO information whatsoever. In an old save I had I got lots of information about Opposition Tactics, Attack Efficiency, Defence Efficiency, Gen Perform etc etc, but now I'm getting absolutely nothing.

Is this a bug? I have somehow missed/forgotten allocating data people to provide me with this info, or is it simply too early in the season for data to be available yet (what have they been doing all preseason?!). Help/advice would be much appreciated thanks.

  18. Just curious as to if there is a way to swap the away kit for third kit for example, or change kit colours? I don't mean swap and rename the graphics in the kit packs as this just changes the icon, but actually change the "colour codes" of the kits out on the pitch (I play in 2D mode and was hoping there was a way to change the circles running around to less eye-sore colours, or find a way to get the game to play in the third kit not away kit by default for example). Thanks.

You need both but Determination, Discipline and WWY are essentially fixed stats that don't change for staff members (or very very rarely) so I prioritize those when searching for a new staff member.  The coaching stats can all improve if a staff member hasn't reached their PA yet so I focus on the mental stats.

It takes a minimum combined 45 points in DDM to reach a 5 star coaching level in any training category so that leaves a requirement for Determination and Discipline to be at least 25 points together.  For this reason, I always set my search parameters with a minimum level of 11 for each of those stats along with a minimum of 16 in WWY when I am searching for a new youth team coach.  I don't mind developing them myself so I'll accept much lower stats for the coaching categories.

    awesome, thanks for the info!

  20. Which is more important for U18 coaches: their attributes for attack/defend/tactical etc or their Determination + Disciple + Motivating? I can't seem to find any U18 coaches that tick every box, so I either have coaches with 11/12s for attributes but 15/16s for DDM, or 15/16s for attributes but 11/12s for DDMs. Any thoughts thanks?!
