  1. Depends on instruction and formation I guess. However if you play 2 st and 2 inverted wingers who both cut inside in an already really congested area you won’t get much done. Maybe try 2 wingers, play wide and hit early crosses? What I do against a mid/low block in my 3-4-1-2 is play an f9 up top and make my 2 amc’s run behind him. F9 normally gets covered by one of the cb’s who then is out of position which can free up one of my AMC’s
  2. Hey guys, I've been loving 3 ATB formations but can't seem to make everything click. I've been at Brighton for 3 years and doing all right, but nothing out of the ordinary. I've been out performing my xPTS and xPlace at least the last 2 seasons. First season I've finished 15th after a horrendous run of form the last 11-12 games. Season after that we had an extreme out performing season and finished 3th only to fall back to 9th. As you can tell, nothing out of the ordinary and around my season preview expected finish (apart from the season in third). My idea is to build out from the back with the back 3 going wide with 2 WCBs and a CDcover, slightly higher having a double pivot in the DLPd and CMs with 2 very high and wide WB's providing width and the front 3 bringing havoc. Latest version: version before this: Counter version: Any clear standout errors? Things I need to keep in mind? I feel as tho against the lower blocks we don't create nearly as much as we should be.
  3. As the post above said I’d change the role of rcm to maybe a bwm(s/d) to make up for the lack of defence in your treq. You probably want a lot of runs for your treq to pass to so change bbm to mez, which goes wider thus providing width at the same time. if you want your whole left flank to switch up on every other attack swap them all to support. Sometimes ur mez will cover and ur iw will provide width, sometimes the other way around will happen. maybe slow down tempo as well so your players can find the treq more often. If you do want an extremely high tempo (as you have right now on attack and higher tempo) you can lower passing directness.
  4. I’d say swap your car and mez around as your right flank is more agressive. In turn to support your cwb even more get your rcb as wcb (su) so he moves into the full back position so your cwb can always go back if needed. you’re trying to play counter attacking football with a high press, trying to win the ball high up the field thus giving yourself less space to counter attack in. same for passing into space, as you’re winning it high up the pitch there’s no space for you to pass the ball into. If i’m going more direct I lower the tempo a notch (or even fully). You’re rushing players to make longer, riskier passes thus losing it more.
  5. Purely on the roles: I agree with most of them. However, I’d put Di Maria on attack, Enzo on DLP(s) and Messi as treq with Alvarez pf(a). Didn’t pay enough attention to Romero to really judge but I’d probably start with a CD.
  6. Interesting read! Could you show your OI? Do you instruct tight marking through PI?
