  1. yea, but it's not like SI could do what they want.. Isn't what you want up to SEGA?
  2. maybe try default tactics just to see what happens? What about training and tactical familiarity, cohesion?
  3. Well, even the barcelona youth team would get hammered in la liga.. The game very much knows when you only field kids, don't underestimate FM. I was kicked out of our national cup in the first round just yesterday because I've played too many youngsters against some lower league band of ruffians and got kicked out of the competition 1:0..
  4. It's illegal as far as FiFA is concerned, you just can't get an EU foreigner who's under 18 years old immedaitely, you've to wait until he's 18. The only exception is when his parents are for whatever reason alrdy in the country.. Parents moving to the EU for the sole purpose of letting the kid play for a big club would be illegal as well.. Kids within the EU are allowed to move on their own as long as the club guarantees the kid's well-being and education, something FIFA actually investigates..
  5. It is possible to cancel regular scouting assignments, however, it doesn't seem to be possible to cancel "Analyse Next Opposition" & "Squad Player (analyse own team)" assignments:
  6. Mhh, what about the star rating of players, though? Isn't that being done by your assman? Additionally, I wonder if Tactical Knowledge has an impact on the quality of your assman's comments/feedback during a match? I, personally, don't think that it matters if one has one or two assmen.. I see it like that chief scout thing, where you are granted a higher wage budget compared to normal scouts, so if one really good one makes higher wage demands, you can make him chief scout..
  7. from the bottom of the link I've posted earlier: Does this answer what you were looking for?
  8. mhh, maybe this explanation helps?: https://www.espn.com/soccer/uefa-champions-league/story/4663021/champions-league-revamp-how-the-competition-will-work-from-2024-25 otherwise, use your search engine with "new ucl format explained".
  9. yea, there's quite an artificial or robotic feel to many things which are connected to player interactions or current events/club situation.. Makes you roll your eyes quite hard whenever that happens, prolly also reason why many people don't bother reading in-game text like player conversations or social media and complain instead about too many clicks et cetera...
  10. this guide explains what the assman does: https://twoplaymakers.com/how-do-you-appoint-the-best-assistant-manager-in-football-manager-8-pointers-to-guide-you/ A basic coach for let's say 5 star "attack - tactical" training does just that. They can, however, give additional feedback about training for example. See "Responsibilities -> Advice and Reports" for that.. One would think that, generally, an assman expects a higher wage compared to a coach. Basically, an assman can do coaching duties if you want him to, but he's more universal, can do several different things, while a coach is usually only good at leading a team training session of one of the different categories (Gk_Shot Stopping, Gk_Handling, Def_Tactical, Def_Technical, Atk_Tactical, Atk_Technical, Pos_Tactical, Pos_Technical, Fit_Strength & Fit_Quickness).
  11. maybe try to get an old superstar who's out of contract to sell more shirts?
  12. don't forget to actually confirm changes (bottom right) in the responsibilities menu, many people forget to do that.. Otherwise, it's prolly best to use the bug tracker: https://community.sigames.com/bugtracker/
  13. excessive Defender: Ronald Araujo will end his contract with a weekly wage of 254K. Jules Koundé will end his contract with a weekly wage of 565K. Virgil van Dijk's contract at Liverpool lasts another 3 years and gets 275K per week. Attacker: Ansu Fati will end his contract with a weekly wage of 702K. Erling Haaland contract at Man City lasts another 5 years and gets 400K per week. I think the "Yearly Wage Rise" clause in the contracts of Ronald Araujo, Jules Koundé & Ansu Fati are too excessive in comparison to similar and/or relevant players like Virgil van Dijk or Erling Haaland. I therefore suggest to delete these clauses. Compared to the in-game wage structure at Barcelona, I see no reason why theses three players should have such unusually expensive clauses in their contracts. In real life, it is common knowledge that the new Barcelona board is repairing the broken wage structure of the old regime, and these three in-game contracts suggest pretty much the opposite.
  14. So when I create a manager, is it possible to give myself a nickname? Like many Brazilians for example do IRL? Tite comes to mind.. I know that I can give players nicknames, but can I do that with my own name as well?
  15. Once they implement a modern engine, they will realize that 3d graphics are an amazing and never ending way to sell coming iterations.. Just create a launcher to choose between "toaster mode" & dx12 or whatever...
  16. For teams like United, PSG, City et cetera, they could make "Team Cohesion" waaay harder to achieve, perhaps even impossible! Like, the higher the average player wage of a club, the harder it is to achieve maximum team cohesion. Player personality and the attribute "Teamwork" could have an effect, too. After all, Guardiola's Barca was the perfect storm of just the right individuals, every single diva was kicked from the squad by Pep, which led to levels of unbelievable cohesion within his squad. Xavi, Busquest & Iniesta were/are incredible academy teamplayers far from any diva-like behavior... So a superstar like Paul Pogba, Mbappé or Neymar might even completely sabotage or reduce the build-up of team cohesion.. Too many players on high wages should also ALWAYS significantly hamper the sense of togetherness within a squad, especially with a low average of the teamwork attribute and/or bad (hidden) personalities.. Additionally, a team full of highly talented teenagers should never be able to just stroll to a UCL title. So just fielding wonderkids should be a rookie mistake.. The board, especially at bigger clubs, furthermore expects you to sign high profile players in order to sell merchandise, so simply fielding eleven 18 year old Colombians nobody has ever heard of every single matchday should once more lead to issues with the board and fans.. In conclusion, there are many factors which should at least hamper or even completely stop the development of "Team Cohesion" of big teams regardless of what the human player can do about it.. The negative aspects of superstars, high wages and bad personalities cannot be magically fixed by the manager through 20 at man-management.. A championship team will ALWAYS be better at team cohesion in comparison to a bunch of entitled millionaires which don't really play for the badge..
  17. yes, I hope the DEVELOPERS realize that every injury and substitution requires a complete readjustment of ALL set-piece routines! It's an extremely tiresome and time-consuming process no casual player can be expected to endure over prolonged periods of time.. If the developers were to suffer through it as much as we, surely they would understand that something must be done about it..
  18. There are popular people on youtube in their 60s, and such old-timers built a career on games which are way more childish than playing FM is.. I don't think that stigma (haha, playing video games as an adult!) is gonna survive this decade tbh..
  19. By *kids*, I meant, like, college *kids*, not kiddie *kids*. Basically, in order to maintain a healthy playerbase you, as the developer, have to, at least to some degree, go with the time.. It's like VHS, most youngsters wouldn't have a clue what this funky new abbreviation might mean if you asked them.. OG FM players will probably soldier on until their dying breath but most of us will eventually decide to spend more time with the family, and I said earlier that modders are already complaining that more and more of their peers have stopped modding.. I at least would most definitely stop purchasing FM if there weren't any good mods around anymore.. @saihtam is talking a lot about AI, it's about those recurring behavioral patterns of the CPU (*AI*) which make playing FM a predictable experience. Graphics are at the end of the day superficial, the real meat is what's under the hood, or bonnet.. Fifa, for example, has fancy graphics but feels boring and repetitive almost immediately once you've bought your second iteration of it.. Nice Graphics are, however, sort of like advertisement meant to capture younger gamers' attention on steam, certainly not because they're *young n' dumb*, but because they're used to certain graphical standards in this day and age.. Waving that VHS we call ME in front of their noses won't really captivate them in the short term.. @saihtam and pals alrdy elaborated on what matters in the long run..
