  1. Good evening everybody.

    I wanted to start a thread to help me recreate the famous tactic that made Hungary win the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, thrash twice England in 1953 and almost win the World Cup in 1954, where they lost the first game in two years: unfortunately, the final.

    I won't bore you with a million words paragraph explaining the history of the team and the formation, but I will tell you the main points.

    The team was composed of a sweeper-keeper, Grocsis, the first in history;

    Two fullbacks, Lantos and Buzanskiy, who had the task of supporting the maneuvre in the attack and stop opposing wingers (as all fullbacks do, duh);

    One central defender, Lorant, which acted almost like a sweeper;

    Two defensive midfielders: Zakarias, who acted more like a fourth defender, dropping in line with the defence, and Bozsik, who acted more as a deep-lying playmaker but was asked to join the attack as well;

    Two wingers, Czibor and Toth (or Budai II);

    A withdrawn center-forward, Hidegkuti, who played as an attacking midfielder/trequartista, but also helping the midfield when defending;

    Two strikers, Kocsis and Puskas, who were asked to score, simple as that.

    I set myself to start a save in Hungary in the lower leagues (courtesy of @Weiry who made an awesome work in creating the database) and try, as soon as possible, to recreate the Magical Magyars' tactic.

    As I managed to gather while playing (I'm far from being an FM expert) the tactic screen displays how the team sets up in defence, while roles and duties determine how the team attacks.

    So, here's what I came up with after various tries:

    image.thumb.png.0a190be0c09957d171bdf67eef464afc.png

    There are two roles that I struggle with the most: Zakarias' and Hidegkuti's.

    Zakarias worked like the halfback does, but in reverse: while defending he sat in line with the defence and when attacking he pushed up a little to offer an option to both the other centre-back and the other defensive midfielder. In game, I can't find an option to recreate this, help is much needed.

    Hidegkuti was, instead, a withdrawn attacker that dropped in the midfield to help in defence, but as soon as the possession of the ball was won, he helped create the whole offensive maneuvre. In this case, I don't know if the mezzala can do the same as it tends to drift wider. Help is needed here too.

    Thanks for the attention.

  2. Hello everyone,

    as I'm fairly new to editing, I'd like to ask you a question.

    Is it possible to modify the range of age in which regen players are generated in teams at the start of a save? There are league where I cannot field players over 23 years old and the game generated players that are 28 years old, which occupy wage budget for nothing and I can't get rid of them..

    thanks for the help

  4. Hello guys, I need help from you all.

    I wanted to try and start a save in the brazilian lower leagues (courtesy of Tonao's database) but the finances are all over the place, basically as the second season starts, I don't have enough wage budget to have an 11-men team.

    I had a look, and the minimum wage in brazil is 998 reais/month (circa 185 euros/month) while the game sets the minimum wage to 500 euros/month.

    Bear in mind, I'm no editor expert, so I'm asking: I'll attach the .fmf file, can you please help me edit that? I don't know how!

    Thank you!

  5. Just for context, I retrained Unai Vencedor as a Libero in my Athletic Club save, and I tried the "off-centered" 442, not yet the combination with both the inverted wingback and the DM.

    As I just finished the season, I guess I'll give this setup a go in the next preseason.

    I also started giving those PPMs in case other methods don't work

    Thanks for the advice! I know this setup isn't easy to replicate in a 442, but I appreciate the help!

  6. Good evening everybody,

    Lately I've been getting more and more back into FM due to the mandatory quarantine (sigh), thus preventing me to play football as I used to.

    So an idea started whirling around my head, which is recreating the way my RL team plays in FM.

    The main problem is that we play with a 4-men back line, with myself as kind of a libero, sweeping up balls that come over the top (which is very often, as we play in an amatorial league) and bringing the ball forward, joining the midfield.

    As I tried tinkering around, I noticed this isn't possible, as the libero is only available for the central CB.

    Any suggestions on how to replicate it? Maybe 2 fullbacks, only one CB as a Libero and a single CDM as an Halfback to try and make it sit back while on the attack? I'm open to suggestions, since most of you know the dynamics of the game much better than me!

    Thank you for the help

    Sorry about that!

    Out of all the 100 nations I've done now, it seems Iceland was the only nation with failed changes...

     I've gone in and fixed it. 2.0 version is coming soon, in testing now, so the fixes will be in that version, in a few days.

    The way Iceland should be set up is Nationally, everyone speaks Icelandic. Then the newgens can also possibly speak Danish or Faroese. Cities with >5000 population will also speak English, so that is why they're asked to have English courses. English is taught in school, and there are many articles and videos showing that English is widely understood and spoken.

    Oh don't be sorry! It's a mastodontic task and a few errors are to be expected! I know in Scandinavia English is well spoken and understood, but it seemed like it was the main language over Icelandic! When you release the new version I'll give it a look! Thank you so much!

    I use this for Hungary. Anyway, if You'd like Hungary to the lowest level, try to contact with @Weiry - he already has done a lot of countries' full pyramids, so maybe he'd plan Hungarian one as well, and if You provide him with info, it would definitely be easier ;)

    Thanks! Funnily enough, Weiry contacted me himself asking me for info to get on with the Hungarian database :) I'll check this database while Weiry works on his!

    There is some Hungarian file down to D4. It should be available at Steam. I'll be home in some 4-5 hours, not earlier. If you don't find it till that time, please remind me, I'll post it here :)

    Thanks! For now I'm gathering the informations about teams down to Hungary's last level so that if I can find somebody that can use the editor wants, a more accurate database can be done (I can't use the editor to save my life)

    Yes, it is coming soon!

    I don't see why it would...but can't be 100% certain...

    The only thing changed is languages for nations, cities, and regions. It doesn't change nationalities created per nation or names or anything else.

    Given the fact that I don't actually know how FM generates the name poll, I asked this with blissful ignorance

    Is the name poll hardcoded? I'm sure you know this way better than I do 😂

  11. Excellent work yet again!

    Just a couple of questions.. All the teams that are not in any state championship at the start of the save.. Will they be able to qualify for one at any point or not?

    Also, will you correct the colours for the teams? (for example, Radium de Mococa use green and red but when you use them the menus are red and white)

    This is just aesthetical!

    Great work, again!

    Hey, I'm playing around with the editor making leagues in small countries playable. To test I created the Saint Kitts and Nevis leagues and it works fine. However I'm not getting an annual youth intake. Can anyone help me with this?

    Check that teams have youth facilities, on the editor under the stadium section

    They should have the youth facilities value greater than 0

    Im not an editor but I had some issues with youth intakes so I hope this helps

    Hello,

    I'm looking for an Italian lower league file all the way down to the Eccelenza. Or can anyone point me in a direction on how to create the lower leagues so I can do so myself?

    I'm also looking for it. If I was any good with the editor I'd create it myself but I have no idea how

    There's the link for you all! The work's been done by the Italian forum and I must say it's pretty accurate! Have fun!
