Mamelodi Sundowns / Ivory Coast - 2025/26 Update
Ivory Coast not South Africa you ask? Well, 'Les Elephants' ranked 44th in the world offered me the job and considering they are 13 ranks higher than that of the South Africans I accepted the offer.
Back on the club front and it was a case of so near but yet so far in the South African FA Cup. A tough quarter-final against the holders Orlando Pirates required extra time before a 108th minute goal saw us progress with a 1-0 victory. With the holders out of the way we were 2 good performances away from checking off another trophy for the challenge. A 92nd minute injury time winner in the semi-final didn't quite fit the description of a good performance but we reached the final... Kaizer Chiefs await.
A nip-and-tuck affair but we struggled to take advantage of our 12 shots and we had to settle for runners-up this time around.
Putting the disappointment behind us it was back to focusing on ensuring we retained the title with 2 games remaining and the now FA Cup holders Kaizer Chiefs gunning for us. The schedule was kind to us and saw us playing Venda FA and Golden Arrows who were both flirting with relegation. As expected, we took 6 points from the final 2 games and the league was retained.
The close of the domestic season saw World Cup 2026 arrive. Pitted against South Korea (26th) and Belgium (3rd) we were up against it in the group stage and unfortunately no upsets were caused. Surprisingly Norway went the distance and lifted the trophy.
Goals for next year are to perform better in the Champions League, a first round exit this season is definitely something to be forgotten.

Mamelodi Sundowns / South Africa - 2024/25 Review
Having taken over the reigns of the defending champions in 4th place with just under half of the season to go I knew there was a good chance of us going on to retain our title if we hit a bit of form. What I didn't expect was us to win all 12 of our remaining league games. The step up in quality from Chippa Utd clear to see and just goes to show why the club is such a force domestically. However, I do seem to be leaving a curse on my former employers, as like Polokwane City, Chippa Utd also succumbed to relegation following my resignation. The club motto 'The Sky is the Limit' appears rather applicable; let's aim for continental success with this domestic powerhouse.

Mamelodi Sundowns / South Africa - 2024/25 Update
Approached by the South African FA it felt right to take the job given I am aiming to grow my profile in the nations domestic competition. Just after the midway point of the season Steve Komphela resigned from the reigning champions to take an opportunity with Egypt. This left vacant a job that was just too desirable to not apply for and thankfully, my interview skills saw me offered the job.

Chippa United - 2023/24 Review
I now know why the club are nicknamed the 'Chilli Boys' - since joining the club, form has been nothing but hot and that saw us rise up the table from 11th to a playoff place in 2nd. The Playoff Mini League was out of our hands for the final game with us needing Cape Town Spurs to do us a favour. With just 1 point from 3 games (annoyingly came against us at home) it was highly unlikely that they were going to manage anything away at Richards Bay whose South African Premier Soccer League place was on the line. Much to my surprise (and delight) Cape Town won the game 2-0 and with that our promotion back to the South African Premier Soccer League was confirmed! As for Polokwane City, things didn't get any better following my departure and they were relegated. Very much a season of hot and cold.

Chippa United - 2023/24 Update
Following a board meeting with the higher-ups at Polokwane City it looked like my tenure was soon to be coming to an end with the club sat in 14th. Divisional rivals the 'Chilli Boys' sat in 11th sacked their manager and I chanced my arm and applied for the job. A step in the right direction considering the club were in the South African Premier Soccer League last season and following their relegation had media expectations of finishing 2nd and bouncing back immediately, lets see if I can get the club back on track and back into the top flight.

Polokwane City - 2022/23 Review
After opening up with 3 defeats we were able to steady the ship going on an 8 game unbeaten run (7W, 1D). However, the wheels soon came off and we only won 1 of the final 7 games and ended the season with a 5th straight defeat.

Nigeria - 2026/27 Update
AFCON has arrived and at the helm of the highest ranked African nation in the world I only had one aim, win the trophy.
We qualified from the group with relative ease but a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Mali was a bump in the road we could have done without.
Thankfully our defensive frailties were only a one game blip as we overcame Ghana, Cameroon and Morocco with a run of clean sheets. Our opponents in the final, Algeria, also managed the same feat.
and with that, another competition has been checked off!
The final was comfortable for the most part with a 2-0 lead until the Algerians scored a penalty with 15 minutes to play but it was the only chance they had of hitting the back of our net.
The search for a new International job is on...
