    Nation: Taíno
Offical long name: The Commonwealth of Taíno
    Language(s): Spanish
    Capital: San Juan
    National stadium: Estadio Centroamericano
Borders: West Hayti. south Caribbean Sea, north Lucaya and east Atlantic Ocean

Before independence the island nation of Taíno was a Spanish colonial posession with the name Puerto Rico. When the Napoleonic wars hit Spain, Puerto Rico was one of the areas that stayed loyal. As a result Puerto Rico received small gains in autonomy and rights. However, when the king returned those gains were removed and Puerto Rico was back to the status of a colony. Puerto Rico was pulled into the Spanish-American war when the United States attacked Spanish Florida. An attack on Cuba and Puerto Rico followed. While the Spanish army would win the war, they would also conclude that the American colonies were taking too much effort to defend, while the economic situation in Florida and both islands did not give much in return. The island of Puerto Rico would be given independence in 1898 with the new name of Taíno, named after the original people of the island.

While football was played when Taíno was still Spanish, organized football did not start until 1900. The Taíno national football would not take part in the Caribbean, Central American or American championships until 1940. Taíno has not been a very succesfull nation. On a governmental level Taíno has considered federating with Florida, which would have meant the national team of Taíno would have been merged with the Floridean team. Question is whether any Taíno international would ever have a chance to take the field for Florida.

    Next up is Bermuda

Since you are going to use the Taíno as the basis for Puerto Rico, I suggest that you use the Taíno name for Puerto Rico instead, which is Borinquen (The Commonwealth of Borinquen).

Additionally, that would mean the demonym for them would be Boricua.

Otherwise, good stuff! I'm really interested to see the development with this project :applause:

If you've ever wanted to create a team that generates players of dual-nationality, you've come to the right place!

In this tutorial, I will create a team made up of Chinese-Americans located in Boston (MA). More specifically, southern Boston.

Here is the team looks like in-game before going to the pre-game editor:

    Capture0.PNG.6128b832e5582fd9d534b7c41372bea5.PNG

Notice the complete lack of generated Chinese players and names.

What I'd like to do is change the nationality of players generated by the team from purely American to Chinese-American.

Pre-tutorial: If you don’t want all generated players from the city the club is located in to be of dual nationality, please start at this step. Otherwise, start the Tutorial step.

Let’s start → On the left-hand side of the editor, click ‘Database’, then 'Cities'. Finally, click ‘Add’ on the bottom right.

Fill out what is marked in red (in the picture below). Make sure to name the new city and set it to the nation your team is located. In this case, I have set it to the USA since this will be an American based club. DO NOT fill out ‘Languages’ and ‘Local Region’. The sections marked in blue are optional to fill out as they are for realism. I have filled them out for that reason

    Capture1.PNG.d54c253d6ce9d07366bb3e56ba9a3121.PNG

The reasoning for this is that I do not want all players from the city of Boston (MA) to be Chinese. So I instead create a new city called South Boston (MA) so that it will generate Chinese players.

Note that not putting in a Latitude and Longitude for the city will make it difficult for the team to have friendlies with other clubs as geographically, they would be located in the ocean.

Tutorial: On the left-hand side, click on ‘Database’, then go down to ‘Local Regions’ and click on it. Click on ‘Add Condition’, then click on ‘Nation’.

Now, when searching for a region to use, preferably use one of a non-FIFA country (i.e. Zanzibar, Micronesia, etc.), a minor footballing nation (i.e. Sudan, Anguilla, etc.), or one with sparsely populated areas (i.e. Russia, etc.) as to avoid any potential problems of messing with Important nations.

For this example, I will use Mongolia. So, type in Mongolia into the text bar. A multitude of regions will appear. Click on any of them.

    Capture2.PNG.561ff9f8c13e0694f369cdcab5047ada.PNG

This is an example of a screen you might see:

    Capture3.PNG.b756caeb3a5b4cdf1033fa46552e9956.PNG

If you see any language(s) under ‘Languages’. Select all of them and click ‘Remove’. Now, rename the region whatever you want. The name doesn’t matter, but preferably, name it something that relates to the country of origin of the club (I will name this “Little Beijing”). Click on the arrow under ‘Nation’ and select the country that your ethnic team is from (I will choose China as I want a Chinese ethnic team). Finally, add the languages of the country from which the club is based, and the ones where the expats are from.

For me, this means I will add the languages of China and of the USA. This is so the players will generate knowing the languages of both countries. When you’ve completed that, click ‘Cities’ (marked in blue).

    Capture4.PNG.c8b9e7c4d7dcb7cf9eb2611783e7228c.PNG

When you click on ‘Cities’, you may see a list of cities in the region appear. If any cities appear, select all of them and click ‘Remove’.

    Capture5.PNG.1ea2ce1757d4d2b85ba70c452212b0c2.PNG

In the bottom right, click ‘Add’. Then click ‘Add Condition’ → ‘Name’, then type in the name of the city you’re using. When you find it, click on it then click ‘Ok’

    Capture6.PNG.a1540e26ac4c521d8d7b632f502d9061.PNG

Now access your club through the arrows on the left hand side, or go to ‘Database’ → ‘Clubs’ and search for your club.

When you’re there, click on the arrow under ‘City’, then search for the city that you’ve been using. Note that if you’ve done this correctly so far, ‘Local Region’ should show the name of your edited region (in blue)

    Capture7.PNG.fd42634e3f6872a9a24b74d3248d28e1.PNG

When starting a new game with the editor file, your team should be producing dual-national players!

As seen below, there is now a significant increase in the amount of Chinese-American players on the team (circled in red). Of course, not every generated player is Chinese-American (circled in blue):

    Capture8.PNG.6ec5449493cb15db8ee9f28aa6bf6df1.PNG

Here are two expat players on the team. Note that my players are from the city I used during the tutorial (South Boston (MA)) and are from the country I placed my region in (I placed the ‘Little Beijing’ region in China) :

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

    Additional Notes:

    • This works in FM19, FM20, and FM21. I have tested files with this feature in those games. I do not have FM22, but I can only assume that it works there as well since it has worked for the past 3 titles. Anything before FM19 though, I’m not sure.
    • I found out about this after curiously looking through @racingsquirrel's FM19 Hong Kong database in the editor. I must give him some credit for this as it was his database that included this hidden feature.
    • Also, I find it kind of comical that just a few days earlier, I asked a question about this exact topic:
  3. Image result for cascadia

After 2 months of work put into the database, I've finally finished. Once again, I have returned to the non-FIFA nation of Cascadia. Some backstory as to why I wanted to create this database can be seen in this post here:

Back then, I was a complete noob at using the Advanced Editor and at making graphics. (I thank @Tonao for the work he put into the graphics and the database as a whole. I appreciate it!). Now, I've returned to the first database that I completed alongside Tonao.

    Database Information:

Cascadian Premier League: 20 teams (3 relegated)

    Cascadian League 1: 15 teams (2 promoted + 1 through playoffs, 3 relegated)

    Cascadian League 2: 15 teams (2 promoted + 1 through playoffs)

    U18s Division: Group 1 - 20 Teams, Group 2 - 15 Teams

Cascadia Cup: 50 teams (FA Cup, Knockout format)

Cascadia Super Cup: 2 teams (Super Cup, Winner of Premier League and Cascadia Cup)

Pacific Northwest Challenge Cup: 30 teams (Teams from League 1 and 2, Knockout format)

The database is complete with custom teams, stadiums, and graphics.

The additional "Cascadia International Comps." file allows Cascadia to participate in World Cup Qualifiers, North American Nations League, and U20 Championships (U20 World Cup qualifiers).

The "Cascadia Continental Comps." file only removes Vancouver out of the Canadian Championship at the moment (since they aren't Canadian anymore). If anyone is willing to add continental qualification, then please let me know.

    Additional Notes:

    • It is heavily advised that you uncheck "Do not Add Key Staff" and check "Add Players to Playable Teams" in order for the nation to be populated with actual players, not greyed out ones.
    • Cascadian regens have Spanish names for some reason. It doesn't affect gameplay at all, it is just something peculiar. I used Ireland (Pre-1920) as a base for Cascadia. If anyone knows as to why this happened, feel free to let me know.

    How to Install Graphics:

    1. On Windows, extract the "Cascadia Graphics" folder to \Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2020\graphics. For Mac users, go to /Library/Application Support/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2020/graphics.
    2. Open Football Manager 2020 and go to Preferences, then Interface. Clear the cache via the button in the bottom left, then enable the "Reload skin when confirming changes in preferences" option. Hit confirm.

*All fictional Cascadian Premier League team logos are NOT my artwork. They belong to BagelHK. Link to the logos are here: http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/107687-cascadian-football-association-all-done-springfield-and-victoria-added/

Below are the Cascadia database files, as well as graphics and additional screenshots. Have fun managers!

  4. Hello everyone,

I am wondering if there is a way to edit a country's language fluency. In the FM19 Editor, I was able to edit a country's national languages.

    2037284532_Screenshot2021-04-10161644.png.f7bc0dc0f0b8de712549eaaa3cd2b4a2.png

As you can see in the screenshot, there was an option to edit a country's languages.

In the FM20 Editor no option is seen in the bottom left:

    95302523_Screenshot2021-04-10162621.png.58d5bf24b8d6449ec383abd9d3d5f9cc.png

I haven't seen the topic mentioned at all and I haven't found a solution anywhere. Please let me know how to get the Languages option available (if it is possible).

  5. @Uncle_Sam Apparently, there is an USL Academy Cup (link below). It is for U-17 and was wondering if you could add it in a new update.

    DESCRIPTION (FROM THE WEBSITE):

    AGE GROUPS

Two age groups will be included: U13 & U17. All U17 teams will be placed in the Eastern or Western Conference and will be expected to participate in their respective regional event. Regional results will determine seeding and placement ahead of the national event. U13s will only participate in the national event in May 2020.

    • U13: 2007/08 - National Event Only
    • U17: 2003/04 - Regional and National Event

    U17 CONFERENCE ALIGNMENT

In the U17 group, all clubs will participate in a regional event, having been split into East and West conferences (as illustrated below). Results at the regional level will then determine competitive placement & final seeding at the national event, May 22-25, 2020 at the Hillsborough County Tournament SportsPlex in Tampa, Florida.

The Western Conference Regional Event will be held October 11-14, 2019, at Star Soccer Complex, owned and operated by Championship side San Antonio FC.

  6. @Uncle_Sam Is there a way to add the University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors into the NCAA? As you probably know, there aren't any soccer teams in Hawaii considering it's geographical location, and it would be nice to have a team from there play.

Also, big, huge thumbs up to you. The hard work you put into this must be immense and yet you still upload huge databases like this on time, thank you sooooo much!!!!! :applause:
