Could I request a version of Beowulf 4-4-2dm All Cups with one of the defensive midfielders pushed up into the CM position? Does something similar exist? Or is this something I could do myself without it effecting the tactic too much? Just started using this tactic against bigger teams (Chelsea, Man City etc) after losing 3 cup finals in a row with Newcastle (2 against Chelsea, Havertz is so overpowered, and 1 against Man United). Only one of my 5 midfielders is suited to DM (Bruno G). And he always needs to come off after an hour because he’s run out of steam. No dramas if not, the tactics surprised me with how good it is anyway to be honest. These are my last 2 games:

I’m managing Newcastle on Touch mode at the moment. In 2nd season, 15 points clear at the top in February and beat Man City in the league cup final. Using a mixture of Warrior 4-2-4 and HGF 4-1-2-3/4-5-1. Whatever you do sign Gabriel Barbosa. Scored 34 in 32 first season.

Been playing FMM since 2020, always loved it and appreciated how little bugs are in the game, how smoothly it runs etc. but since the latest two updates I’m worried that we’re now left the rest of the year (or until November anyway) with the buggiest version of the game since I’ve been playing. Are there any plans for further bug fixes or an update? bugs I’ve noticed: - Mentoring: now pretty much unusable, only works maybe 5% of the time and ALWAYS ends after a week or so for me with the players having relationship problems. Used to happen every now and again but is now just constant and renders mentoring pretty much useless -Board a confidence: random occasions of low board confidence (close to being sacked) despite massively overachieving in all competitions. I’ve seen screenshots of other FM players where they’ve been sacked, despite being top of the league with a team expected to fight relegation for example. This one’s a game breaker. I’m planning a long term 30 year save starting with a club at the bottom but I don’t want to start it in fear that 5+ years I’ll be sacked because of this bug -AI transfer bug: receive an offer say for example of 30m from a club for one of your players, only to open the offer and it’s been reduced to 15m -international squad selection: I’ve not experienced this one yet as never managed an international team but apparently squad selection resets when confirming. -loan player development: this may be deliberate by the developers but my players I loan out don’t develop anywhere near the levels they did pre update. sure there’s another I’m missing but just really hope there’s a plan to fix some of these and we’re now not just left with a bug ridden mess until FM2024

Think they’ve used a 4-4-2 for a majority of this season, I’d recommend Beowulf 4-4-2 (any excuse for me, love that tactic)

Us and them 4-1-2-3 (4-3-3dm) and Beowulf 4-4-2 will definitely still do the job at the lowest levels

Final update is out. Is it a new match engine version or not anyone know? Im really hoping not. I don’t understand the constant cycle of game release, 4 different versions of a match engine then rinse and repeat every November. Such a weird way to do things.

The board sell your players on touch mode? Been playing touch mode since 2015 and never seen that?

So so good. 2nd season with Newcastle. Finished 3rd first season and was in the title race the whole way. I sometimes switch it up for other Knap tactics to keep the AI guessing but use this 9 out of 10 games

What does BAL TIG mean? And difference between this and previous Beowulf 4-2-3-1’s? Looking good

I wouldn’t know for sure but Beowulf 4-4-2 always been great for me non league all the way up to the prem. I got 5 consecutive promotions and league wins with Dulwich Hamlet back on FM19 using it. But FM was simpler and more fun back then 😔

Not 100% sure on this but think the database on touch is set automatically to small with no option to change. You can select 5 nations for a larger database but will effect the speed of the game

Really hope this is fixed sooner rather than later as I’m planning a 30 year career with a team from the National League South and I don’t fancy getting sacked for no reason if I’m doing well 😂

Early days but I’ve noticed an improvement in terms of goals and assists from my IF since the winter update. Not quite numbers from FMM19-22 but I’m still happy with it

any chance of a Beowulf 4-4-2 (wingers and 2X AF's) for the latest update ? don't see one under the 23.2 tab, so wondering if maybe its no longer effective on the latest Match Engines?
