League Cup final shouldn't be moved due to the FA Cup. It was moved last season too. The kick off time is 3pm on a Wednesday!

Defensive issues with ME
ajw10 posted an issue in Match Engine - AI and Tactics (Closed For New Issues)
I've already posted a thread which has bizarre penalty decisions. There's another one in here, but this game really sums up how bad I think this current version of the game is. First goal just isn't a penalty. Second goal involves the usual long ball that CB's cannot defend. It's arguably the biggest issue with defending currently. Fourth goal. I cannot explain how bad this is. Not realistic to top level football at all. It's something that just doesn't happen. Arsenal v Crystal Palace.pkm -

Yeah I think that's me done until an update. Same nonsense mistakes that make no sense. Highlights include my gk and defender tackling each other, a penalty for nothing and Saliba misjudging the ball for no reason. -

Just to back up WTS' point about defending. The Villa game sums it up I think. Again, these games can absolutely happen but it's the frequency that it happens I'm finding irritating. It just feels inevitable that they will get a late goal from either a ball over the top or some other nonsense. City game is less of an issue because again, these games happen. However, the first goal was down to a poor touch by Saka, the second was poor defending from Tomiyasu and the third was Enzo Fernandez standing with the ball at his feet for far too long (poor animation). Saka, Tomiyasu and Fernandez' mistakes weren't mentioned in the commentary and as far as I can see, their match ratings weren't affected by it. Saliba on the other hand? Got a 6.1 rating and I can't work out why. There's just something not right about this game. I feel like it's a big step backwards from a very good FM 22 -

I would say that the issue is the frequency of the same types of mistake. Typically for me it'll be the wide player taking a comically large first touch that gets countered, or a ball over the top that my defender deals with poorly. Usually neither "mistake" gets picked up by the ME as the player ratings aren't often affected. I feel like so much is just poor animation. That's my feeling on this ME, the animations just aren't good enough. I've posted quite a bit about in the bugs forum about penalty decisions. I'm convinced it's poor animation work, so whilst I'm not getting cheated by the game, it feels like I am based on what I see. -
Finished my second season a few days ago. Sold Partey to Liverpool for £69m and replaced with Camavinga for a cheaper price. Mudryk was my other big signing. Retained the league and it was much more comfortable than the points tally suggests. Our defence of the two domestic cups was a disgrace, losing on pens to Bournemouth in the 3rd round of the League Cup and losing at Anfield in the 3rd round of the FA Cup. CL was really straightforward mind Alexis Mac Allister was signed in the Jan window and he made a huge difference, his partnership with Camavinga was crucial for the run in. In the summer Xhaka wanted a new challenge so he went to Benfica for £38.5m, Tierney wanted first team football so went to Porto for £42m. Nketiah went to Fulham for £41m and I decided to cash in on Balogun after he had a great season in the Championship for Everton. He went to fellow Championship side Brentford for £30m, replacing Ivan Toney. Only big purchase we've made is Enzo Fernandez who had a £40.5m release clause at Benfica. Not overly enjoying this game, there's too many quirks that affect my overall enjoyment, so not sure how motivated I am to carry on, which is a shame as I've got a few promising players coming through the academy.

well the issue clearly is that I wanted my players to soak up pressure and not commit too many bodies forward. My team did the complete opposite. -

Bit of luck that I did that then. I dropped the players a bit, got them to not press as high and for the full backs to not bomb forward. My issue isn't that I lost, it's how I lost. Being countered 3 times makes absolutely no sense whatsoever Obviously won the return leg 3-0 because winning your home games is far too easy -

Tried to go defensive at 2-1, so naturally my team went all out attack and left huge spaces in behind for Inter to exploit. Make it make sense. -

We've already had the pre-Christmas patch This has been broken for years. I offer Nketiah out for lower wages and the same clubs say they are not interested/can't afford it. It's so frustrating how many things like this, player interactions etc are broken. -

There's not many times I wish I could roll back to the old patch, but this is one of them. Teams pass it between their back line with very little consequence. The football is much less enjoyable to watch now, plus there are additional bugs. The patch has made this game way less enjoyable -

an Argentina win with Giroud missing a load of chances would be ideal -
A stupid first season in charge Not much more I can do after that. No signings until Jan, where I put in Lemar on loan to cover the wings whilst I sold Holding, Cedric and Nelson plus loaned out Marquinhos. Nketiah won POTY. Everyone played their part though. Saka and Odegaard had brilliant half seasons. Odegaard started strong and faded, whilst Saka did the opposite. Moving forward Elneny is leaving for around £17m and Partey is in talks with Liverpool over a £69m move. I want to bring in either Camavinga or Enzo Fernandez as the DM. Might loan out Walters and try and bring through Norton-Cuffy. Patino will get his chance this season too

ajw10 replied to Darius1998's topic in 2022 World Cup Forum
People blaming Southgate for last night are genuinely ridiculous. We lost against a very good side. It's a game of fine margins and a usually reliable penalty taker smashes one over the bar. There's not much more to it than that. Only issue was subbing off Saka, but it looks like half the thread wanted him off anyway -
