  1. Football Masters started me on my Management career. The Company were based in Southend if I remember. It was a great game to play against each other. I remember when they brought in loaning players in and out. Groundbreaking!
  2. I've never managed to do this either. Steam setup correct, save to cloud and then try to load from cloud, but still no good. Saved game not listed. I even get the message that the game has synced. I just use penstick also.
  3. I read it as a "general" thing to how well your team is doing at a certain point in the game. A team having the momentum is likely to be in control of the match at that point, maybe having positive possession, getting the ball upfield, and creating chances etc. I refer to it more when I'm actually watching the game.
  4. Personally I'm not finding the game too easy at all. I've only started back with the series since FM22, and so far have managed to keep Norwich in the Prem, and got Eastleigh their highest ever league finish in the Vanarama. Both being a real challenge for me. I've now taken the Espanyol job after they got relegated. Most of their best players have left due to relegation clauses, and the remaining players hate me! LOL My transfer budget is pretty low, and the Board expectations are an immediate return to Ligue 1. So I'm not expecting this to be easy either. I use my own tactics and formations, but I learn and take note from the more experienced Managers in this community.
  5. Yes I do. I let him handle all transfers in and out, but I've had to cancel some of his recommendations as we have plenty of cover in those positions. Also, he has a tendency to want to let players go too cheaply, so I have to keep an eye on that too! I did read his actions are tied into the squad planner, so I think you need to keep that updated. I don't think he agreed with the previous Manager getting the sack, so he's maybe trying to stitch me up!
  6. I wouldn't go back to 23, mainly because the ME in 24 is so good. Really do enjoy watching the matches. Its definitely not the most polished version though, as IMO its let down by the poor interaction stuff, etc.
  7. Sounds normal to me. The Builder/Contractor just adding on the usual "extras" that werent in the Contract!
  8. Before team selection, I do consider how well a Player has been training, but I'm really also looking at fitness/condition/morale, and recent form before making my final decision.
  9. I had a similar issue when managing Eastleigh in the Vanarama. We did not meet the standard for facilities to be allowed into the U21's league, and although I did have an U21's manager, I still had to arrange friendlies for them every season. Its pretty easy to do, just a bit of a nuisance really. I didn't have to worry about the U18's though, they were automatically in a league, and all run by our U18's manager.
  10. To add to this topic. Currently I have a situation brewing with a player who is making noises about me not keeping my promise, and playing him in his preferred position. A bit awkward really has he has been out a couple of months with an ACL 🙄
  11. Yes, really disappointed with this too for FM24. I'm sure that I read they had re-worked this, with much more dialogue, and outcomes. Not seen any evidence of this so far. In fairness, it's only the beta, so might be better for full release.
  12. I find the Press/media stuff quite amusing. I'm all for a wind-up. However the Player interactions are still unrealistic, and I was hoping for big improvements in FM24 which I haven't seen yet. I have more or less destroyed my current save over a stupid row with a Player that escalated to the whole squad. It turned aggressive really quick. Now I'm faced with another situation of a Player wanting to renew his Contract but demanding more money than is available at the Club, and I cant see a way to avoid upsetting him and the rest of the squad. I've just managed to rebuild Morale and the Club Atmosphere, it it looks like its going to take a big hit again!
  13. Yes, really good advice there. Wish I'd thought of that sooner. Nearly 3 days solid playing, and thinking my tactic's were way off, only to be faced with a likely visit to the Job Centre! My Son who was playing the exact same Save on his machine did struggle at first (he hasn't played since FM18), but is now shooting up the table, so looks like I have lost my bet as well!
  14. Bringing this thread back to life as I've just experienced similar with a save that I have started on FM24. Before the season really got underway, I upset one of the players, it all escalated resulting in an "abysmal" dressing room and 10 straight defeats, some of them heavy. Being a new ME I thought that maybe my tactics were off, but I literally tried everything, to no avail. I had tried using the advice given, and did start to make improvements in their morale, but I don't think I will save my job. Never had the sack. I think it might also be worth noting, that when you are starting a new save, especially as an inexperienced manager which I did, you have to walk on eggshells until you get the players confidence. Lesson learned.
  15. Will face packs, skins, etc be ok, if we both upload the same files?
  16. Yes, we've just been talking about whether we should keep keep our results a secret until the end of the season. That is a great reason! Thanks 👍
  17. Along with one of my Sons, we have both pre-ordered FM24. He hasn't played since FM18, and I got back into the series at FM22. We are both going to choose the same team, and see how we get on managing them, and see where we end up after one season. We are thinking that playing this way, on different Computers will mean we can play when we have the free time, as its difficult when you have two Managers in the same game, to both be able to play at the same time. The competition between us will finish when we've both completed the season. I'm trying to think of any unfair advantages that we could both have, but if we are managing the same team, it should be technically a level playing field (excuse the pun) So it will be down to us how much we actually manage in the way of picking the team, tactics, transfers, scouting, hiring of staff etc, etc. Do you think there is anything else we should consider to make our game as fair to each other as possible?
  18. I enjoy watching my matches in full, with just a slight increase in the match speed. A season takes me ages, but that's how I enjoy playing the game. Is there any advantage to watching the matches in full. The reason I ask is that knowing the result is already calculated , unless you make changes during the game. I do pour over the stats at half and full time, and sometimes I feel I've watched a different game to what the stats are telling me. Generally speaking though, I can pretty much see who is having a good game and who isn't by watching the game in full. Just wondered if there was any other advantages.
  19. I get the same thing sometimes. I either ignore it, especially if their training rating is still good, or I increase their intensity until they start complaining they are training too hard!
