Noël Aséko Nkili and Jonathan Asp-Jensen are a solid pair of signings!

Premier League Champions in just four seasons! Really unlucky in the Champions League and FA Cup finals as well. What a job Defoe is doing

How many Norwegians do you have now? Surely they can help to convince Haaland

Unlucky in the final but what a run to get there! Weiper is an absolute goal machine!

Season Update 2024/25
Things aren't going too bad in Defoe's second season in the Prem..
Premier League
We are still hanging on to the last Champions League spot after 26 games, winning 17, drawing 3 and losing 6 thus far. However, it won't be easy staying 4th as Arsenal and Chelsea are both hot on our heels.
Champions League
Jermain decided to utilise his second-choice players in Europe and they certainly caused some selection problems by finishing a respectable 10th after 8 games.
We did well against the smaller teams but couldn't really compete with the big boys. A tough Arsenal outfit awaits us in the next round and none of us are putting money on ourselves to progress any further.
Carabao Cup
After a morale-boosting comprehensive victory against Newport in the Third Round, things came crashing back down as we were eliminated away at Leeds after a close 1-2 defeat.
FA Cup
We are still going strong in the FA Cup though, and our second string earned themselves a fourth round replay after coming back to draw away at Norwich. Jermain is quietly confident that we should at least progress to the fifth round as we have home advantage
Player of the Update
Nelson Weiper has started his Boro career like a house on fire! He is only 19 this year but has already managed 17 goals in just 15 Premier League Starts. He even managed 3 in the Champions League as well. We are all aware that this goal scoring ratio is not sustainable but let's hope that this can go on for as long as possible!
Weiper doesn’t look like a world beater but his goal record is unbelievable! Gr8 work getting the best out of the German!

Khephren Thuram is fantastic and is good enough for a title winning squad imo. Good upgrade for your midfield!

Incredible first season by Defoe after promotion! Champions League football would be unbelievable achievement!

It is always fun to play with ex-footballers 😄

It’s bloody Burnley again! You are just like Mark Goldbridge! Class season though

Boro has been flying under the stewardship of Jermain!
Sky Bet Championship
The boys have been absolutely flying in the league, winning 16 and drawing 2 at the start of Defoe's tenure. I'm not sure if it is the new manager bounce but we are all keeping our fingers crossed that the good form can last and we can stay ahead of Watford and Norwich by the end of the campaign!
Carabao Cup
We have also progressed in the Carabao Cup, knocking out Shrewsbury and Grimsby in the opening two rounds and a tough Stoke outfit awaits us in the third round. Our backup wide-men, Marcus Forss and Duncan Watmore, did their first-team hopes no harm by bagging two goals each in the competition thus far. Jermain will continue to use his second string for the rest of the Carabao Cup fixtures as we go full force in the league.
Player of the Update
The photo above might have given it away but Isaiah Jones has been absolutely brilliant for us in our near perfect start to the season. The tricky winger bagged 6 and created a further 5 in just 13 starts, playing a major role in our rise up the table. We will be managing his game time carefully throughout the campaign to ensure he stays clear of injury for the rest of the season \o/
Would love to see how Isaiah does in the Prem! He looks like he can be a quality backup there! KUTGW mate!

Really love the idea of this thread and quality start so far! I’m putting money on Defoe to outdo Carrick!

Good luck for the busy end of the season run mate! Rotation and playing combinations of players who can still win will be crucial!

The first season back in the Premier League is always the toughest. Keep going mate! You are doing just fine!

Considering the pre-season odds, it's a good solid start! Beganovic is smashing in the goals for you too!

Elanga! What a steal for free and he could fire you to the Prem. Congrats on the good start!

Surely the long throws will be back at Stoke? Will be following this, what are your targets in the 1st season?

Mid-season Report
Things have been going well in Sergio's 1st attempt at managing in the Sky Bet League One. We were tipped to finish mid-table by the media but the Argentinian managed to guide us to the 2nd position after 31 games, with automatic promotion looking likely as we are 9 points ahead of 3rd-placed Oxford. It will be a challenge to topple Derby at the top though, as we have been consistently behind them in second place throughout the campaign.
FA Cup
Our second choice lineup managed to progress past Leyton Orient and Ipswich in the 1st two rounds but the boys came unstuck against Premier League side Sheffield United in a 0-2 Third Round defeat.
Carabao Cup
Our worst performance of the season so far came in the Carabao Cup where another Premier League outfit, Leeds United, smashed us 5-1 at their home ground as we suffered a second round cup exit.
Papa John's Trophy
Things looked rosier in the Papa John's Trophy as the boys did very well to progress all the way to the semis, where a scary-looking Man City u23s side awaits us. Nevertheless, Sergio will continue to play his second string in this competition as he wants to place full focus on sealing automatic promotion.
Star Performer
The 19-year-old has been an absolute star for Sergio, scoring 18 goals in 20 starts in all competitions for the Salop. He was also out for almost two months with sprained knee ligaments and our results dipped as a result..
..unfortunately, he has a release clause of 1.5 million pounds in his contract and two Premier League clubs have activated it on deadline day. He also refuses to negotiate a new contract

Three great signings there, they already look good enough to play in the Championship.
They have all settled really well at the Montgomery Waters Meadow and things are looking good for the Salop!

Wow if you get that Man United job! Very similar career path to Fergie’s! If Man United doesn’t offer you the job then definitely take the Brighton one!

I’m for the Boavista move too! Those Portugal newgens are great as well!

First Pre-season
This is Sergio's 1st ever pre-season as he joined his previous club half-way through the campaign, and he is relishing the chance to mould his squad and bring in players to fit his preferred 4-3-3 system.
Transfers
In his 1st full pre-season, the Man City legend brought in 11 to replace as many out-going players in a very busy summer. The club was also happy with the transfer businesses as we ended up with some revenue, and there is room left to plug gaps if some of our players are poached in January.
Key Signings
Adam May
Sergio prefers to have 4 no. 8s to help him get through the season and the squad he took over was short of two. Adam was available on a free and came in on a trial before he was snapped up as the coaching team was impressed with his all-rounded game. He will offer thrust and technique in the Box To Box Midfielder role.
Vontae Daley-Campbell
The club also didn't have right full-backs who were fast enough to rampage up and down the flank for Sergio. The pace of Vontae made the decision to bring him in very easy and he will start in the right full-back position for the Argentinian in the upcoming season.
Jonathan Rowe
There was also a distinct lack of wing attackers in the squad which Sergio inherited and he made full use of the loan market to bring in a promising left inverted winger from Norwich. His pace, flair and crossing ability will be crucial down our wings in the upcoming campaign.
The club was also very kind to allow Sergio to work through his badges and he is now studying for the National B Licence. With that, the Argentinian's first ever season in professional football management begins!

Tom Bloxman, remember the name! what a player at 18 years of age!
He was on loan at Tranmere in League Two last campaign and scored 18 goals. I've no doubt he will score goals for us in League One too! The fact that he came from our academy makes things so much sweeter!

Unlucky mate! That's one too many occasions where you've been FM-ed! Maybe you need to pray to those FM gods
