  1. Assuming all transfer responsibilities are with you AND the players are not on the developmental list?
  2. I know people will say its realistic because the new season has begun, but that makes no sense when you think of World Cup's. Teams refuse to accept bids until after world cups all the time, to get higher valuations, same with players. There is 0 reason a players value should be affected by an arbitrary date change in the system.
  3. Lock it to regular starter. then weed out the lowest leagues. That way your players only play at the highest possible level based on their ability. Also keep an eye out for clubs in relegation battles wanting your players. I'd rather a player play in League 1 and be in the top half of the table than be in a Championship relegation team. The ONLY exception is teams getting relegated from the Premier League, the losses are worth the regular game time
  4. If you shout at the team at HT, then they proceed to still be bad and lose/draw a game they were supposed to win/draw, you yell at them at FT again, then an article pops up in your inbox, saying (insert player name) told the press how the head coach had kept them locked in the locked room to yell at them. its been in the games for at least 2 iterations (FM22/FM23)
  5. That would make sense if they didnt immediately go to the press after the match and tell them that we had yelled at them and locked them in the locker room. Also yelling demand more is not the same as berate, demanding more is something coaches do 100% of the time in real life every few minutes in the second half. Cant claim to be realistic if you arent being realistic A lot of the shouts make no sense. Up 3 goals, and concede a goal, shout focus, and now they're overwhelmed/confused. WHAT? Doesnt matter if youve got a professional squad or an amateur one, they all react the same. highly unrealistic. The shouts system needs a complete overhaul or removal. The current system doesnt work as intended/realistically.
  6. I would point to the start of any save game. Every team has low potential players in their U231s sitting there training. In real life, these players are being trained by the first and U21 team coaches in specific roles and positions. Within 1-2 years in-game, we've sold/released these players and no U18s are coming in to replace them unless they've got potential, another immersion breaking issue.
  7. TBF to them, that's your fault. You cant expect professional players to react positively when made aware of expectations of them. That would be too realistic. Maybe in FM 2030, if they have time left over after the data hub's 10th minor update
  8. True in real life, but with professional players in-game, during the half time talk (if winning by 1 goal or drawing/losing) if I thrash arms and say they've been ****, they get fired up, but then if I demand more in-match, suddenly they're moody. Highly unrealistic and immersion breaking
  9. I think the loyalty attribute needs to play a stronger role here. If the player is very loyal, they shouldnt make demands of the club, unless theyre being severely underpaid. It needs to be implemented
  10. Another addition would be to remove fan opinion on U18s being bought. I buy backup U18 Gks to sit on the bench for my U18s and my fans get pissed and give me an E rating. 99% of the time fans dont care/know about the U18s being bought into the fold when they're not first teamers, or havent cost any money
  11. Agreed. I think they want you to use individual traits to get around it
  12. On Original mode, signing Dybala for his release clause has resolved a lot of issues. With most of the midfield out, a tactic with fewer midfielders might be the go-to in the early game
  13. This is a general issue. Win the league by a few games, play the kids and suddenly they think theyre squad players. No Jimmy, youre not a squad player because I'm resting starters for a champions league final run. For all the match engine intelligence, SI need to focus on making your players and staff intelligent
  14. This would also be a great way to directly influence the club vision (the current system is un-usable as no matter what you suggest, the board refuses to budge on their original vision). Being able to negotiate that the club will change its vision to yours (based off reputation and success level of course + team respect etc, Alex Ferguson would have gotten them to put in a Maccas on the pitch if he threatened to leave and join Madrid/Barca) would be a great negotiating tool, alongside the money aspect
  15. This would make the potential of a Jamie Vardy happening again so much better. Of course a cap on the potential increase would be appropriate to ensure national league players dont become world beaters at 28 regularly
  16. This would make FM truly a youth development game. Because now, instead of having to move players to the senior team to control their training (not their gameplay etc), you would have a genuine interest in keeping players that you would have sold otherwise, because they pair excellently with your 5-star wonderkid
  17. This is 2 issues in one to avoid multiple posts. 1. It is great that SI have given us the option to re-open talks during contract renewals, but we need the ability to tell a player that their agent is the problem. It doesnt have to always work, in fact it should work exactly like it would if we asked a player to get rid of their agent (when they asked for a new contract), but the fact that we can only do this during a very tiny window is nonsensical. We should have the ability to ask players to get rid of their agent at any point. 2. Give us the ability to tell youth head coaches that we need a player playing a specific position. That way instead of having the youth player have to play first team football to perfect the position, they can play the position in the youth teams. I realize you can train them in the position but it isnt enough to get them to the natural positioning they would have playing there regularly. Again the caveat being that the youth team can afford to use them in that position (will introduce youth team building as a direct result)
  18. I joined the national team setup of India while managing Chelsea FC. I asked for the national team reports from my Indian NT staff. However, now on the scouting progress update, the star rating is going off of the Indian NT staff members, who are rating all my Chelsea players, even the championship level youth players as 5-star world class players. This is occurring with the star ratings only.
  19. When you make an offer for a player, on the left side, under all the stuff no one reads, there should be a counter of how many U21s youve signed. Also when youre in the contract screen, at the bottom in red, it will tell you how many youve already signed.
  20. I have kept ALL youth players at the club and locked them down till they turn 23. Will try selling them all for something. Ive given first team minutes to Brooking, Fiabema, Cumming, Wareham (6 goals in 9 apps), Flower etc at the end of games, theyre all worth close to a million as a result. Maatsen and Colwill are squad players now and Brooking/Hughes have rotated behind Azpi for the right back spot. Play extremely slow possession, so once I am a goal up, the kids can come on. Im doing a variation of the youth save, where i can only sign U18s straight for the academy, for <5mil AND I have to balance our transfer deficit of -1.6billion since 2004. Ive played RLC so much, that AC Milan came in with a loan to mandatory buy for 61 million. Managed to get 47.5mil for Kante, after a bidding war between Madrid and PSG. Hoping to sell Kova, Cucurella, Pulisic/Mudryk etc to bring in 200mil+.
  21. For those looking to do a youth only challenge with Chelsea or having trouble getting a quality striker, Ive been using Wareham as my 3rd striker in a single striker formation, and once taught "beat the offside trap" regularly scores goals from through balls. He's got 6 for me across the PL, Carabao and UCL in 9 games. TBF, I bring him on in the last 30 minutes or second half mostly.
  22. I'd be ok with this if the game didnt have a hard coded Endrick transfer as a 16 yr old to Madrid already in there. It is clearly possible, but to be more realistic with how clubs prefer to wait to see how a player develops before making transfer offers they prevent any transfers. In real life if a 16 yr old in brazil gets told he will be offered a transfer at European wage levels in 2 years, he wouldnt care about his development at his current club. The money would save his family and the guarantee would mean development. He'd sign the contract because it guarantees a higher salary than he would get at the same level at his current club.
  23. I am not sure about all of the cons on there, but he has the injury prone con which automatically makes him high risk. Also you might want to take a look at his development --> progress --> attributes page to see if his attributes are actually dipping or if it is simply correction happening for previous growth. Sometimes players go over the games monthly limit, so they get corrected across multiple attributes to balance out
  24. A few things, that can improve the financial side of managing a club, 1. Even the most patient agents, will walk out if you make any reductions on their demands once the orange highlight hits. This is unrealistic. Especially, when their player is making less than he can, and has multiple years left in his contract. Highly unrealistic and would be easily fixed if the contracts were more like real life, where every week they sit back down to discuss terms and after 3-4 of these, if talks break down, then you cannot offer contracts again till they cooldown. 2. Add the 5+ year contract periods as in real life (acceptance can vary based on club favorism/wages etc) 3. If the player has the club as a favorite club OR is a youth academy graduate, unless their personalities are ambitious/mercenary etc, they should be more receptive to the clubs offers over AI clubs. 4. The option (after you are either a favorite or above a certain level in Head coach respect) to "discuss" with the player to fire their agent for a more patient one. The success rate can vary based on player reputation/agent reputation/Head coach reputation, but it gives us an option to avoid being locked in. 5. Fix the players AI that becomes unhappy if you reject a loan from 1 club but accept all others, after promising to loan the player out as a contract promise. 6. Lastly, and most importantly, improve the AI so it regularly "explores" transfers with the player club, even if it doesnt result in a transfer.
