  1. I can't believe I've only just come across this thread through your mini update in the Defence-First thread. This is incredible, such an enjoyable read. I hope you feel your efforts are appreciated and your enthusiasm shared. Like Jogo Bonito before me, I'd been thinking about which club to start a (hopefully) long-term save with and Torino was one of the top contenders. Chose them at random on FIFA 17 and fell in love with Il Gallo and co.
  2. Brilliant as always. Combine this and @Duracellio's sensible approach to a match and you'll be unstoppable. Thought I'd mention how much this resonated with me: I often take inspiration (copy) from tactics posted here and whenever things go tits up, I don't have a clue what to do. Back to the drawing board.
  3. I don't think you can, but maybe changing Mark Specific Position under PIs would help.
  4. Very easy choices. Plus, I wouldn't worry too much about Madrid if I were in your shoes, tough promotion fixtures vs Leeds and Sunderland should be your main concern.
  5. What are the most important things to analyse in the Data Hub when it comes to developing a tactic/playstyle/philosophy? Beyond wins-losses, obviously.
  6. It's funny you should ask that because I was thinking of asking myself. I have City next game, too. I'd love for someone more tactically astute to attempt a recreation, but as bababooey said above replicating certain aspects instead is probably the way forward. Happy to be proven wrong, of course. Edit #1: Leading 2-0 at halftime! Edit #2: Won 3-0!
  7. I've noticed, especially against the better teams, your Liverpools, Uniteds, etc., they seem to pass through my midfield easily and then I concede. I'll make some adjustments per your advice. Do you play with wingers? Ideally I'd want to maximise Wharton, Olise, and Eze before they're inevitably sold.
  8. Which roles would you have chosen? I'm still trying to figure out which roles are beneficial to this approach.
  9. Brilliant insight, thank you! I'll do some tinkering and get back to you with the results.
  10. After six successive clean sheets (granted against lesser opponents, an intra-squad friendly, and a testimonial match) in pre-season I thought I'd finally cracked it, but five games into the actual season I'm sitting 14th with one win (1-0 vs Brighton), three losses, including back-to-back 2-3 to Villa and Forest, and a draw (1-1 vs Everton). Initially I wanted to have a W - At on the right, but Olise has a long-term injury and Ayew is 45 years old so I pinched an idea I saw on another thread. (I'll edit in credit once I remember whose idea it was.) I think the tactic itself is on the cusp of being affective, but any insight into where the problems lie or any tweaks you think beneficial would be appreciated. 11. Relatively new to creating my own tactics so I'm still wrapping my head around roles and duties, but I wanted to ask why you chose W - At on one side and W - Su on the other. Tactical decision, personnel decision, or something I'm missing? Do you play with comprehensive highlights?
  12. I'll keep this in mind when creating my tactics in my real save, potentially with Palace. You hit the nail on the head there. 6 goals scored, the fewest in the league, no in-game tweaks, minimal effort or consideration, not sure why I expected anything more than bottom. Lack of sleep does that. If anything this absolute failure has given me even more of an incentive to create my own tactic with the help of those in this thread.
  13. I thought I'd try something different before doing my own save and told ChatGPT to create a "defence-minded tactic" and this is what it cooked up. Let's see how this goes! Update: Simulated the first 10 games of the season to see how the tactic would fare and it's not looking good to say the least.
  14. Great tips, thank you! Now to stick with a save long enough to receive scouting reports. This has struck a chord with me, the thought of getting into my own "world" and finally seeing the pay off is enticing. But where to start?
  15. Brilliant write up, definitely taught me a lot, but I want to ask how you would categorise each team? What would you look for to determine a low difficulty team from a medium difficulty team?
  16. Recently started playing FM again after a long absence and this is right up my alley. One question: does this require any Opposition Instructions?
  17. The Aubameyang effect. A heartbreaking end to an otherwise incredible first season in the top flight. What are your targets for next season?
  18. Well done on promotion. Loving this.
  19. I can't wait for this. 23x Bundesliga champions What made you tinker with your tactics after three successive wins?
  20. The 'Irish Mitrović' What a turnaround! Here's to a strong finish to the end of the season.
  21. That's gutting. At least you have a positive GD.
  22. I made an account solely to tell you how much I've enjoyed following along. You've inspired me to try something similar. Here for the Milan three-peat.
