  1. Season Review 2030/31 (Season 7) NK Kustošija Zagreb Supersport HNL (Tier 1) What a season we had. We pushed for a Champions League spot almost to the end. Unfortunately we finished the campaign with 3 straight losses and had to settle for 4th place. That gives us European football next season with a chance to really solidify our finances. Off field We had another training facility upgrade I signed another new contract, this one til 2034 I won Croatian First League Manager of the Year Darko Giorgiev 04C is our first player to feature on the NXGN list, coming in at number 42 Adel Galonja 02A led the league in goals with 22
  2. Season Review 2029/30 (Season 6) NK Kustošija Zagreb Supersport HNL (Tier 1) A good bounce back season after last season's near disaster. We comfortably survived the drop and any relegation battle this year and pushed for a European place towrads the end of the season. Ultimately, we fell just short of Europe, but a commendable season none the less. This year I reached 200 games in management which is better than any previous attempt at this challenge. I signed a new contract until 2032 I completed my Continental A Coaching Badge and Continental Pro Badge We got an upgrade to our training facilities
  3. Season Review 2028/29 (Season 5) NK Kustošija Zagreb Supersport HNL (Tier 1) A very disappointing season ended in relief for us as we beat Lokomotiva at home 2-0 in the final match of the season to leap frog them into 9th position and stay up. We probably didn't deserve to stay up, but I'll take it. Hopefully this is the wake up call we needed and not the beginning of the end for this save. We managed to get an upgrade to both our youth and training facilities so the year wasn't a total waste. I also finished my Continental B coaching badge To add insult to injury, the board went and sold our best player Transfers
  4. Season Review 2027/28 (Season 4) NK Kustošija Zagreb Supersport HNL (Tier 1) League Our first season in the top flight that we had to juggle both domestic and continental football and we performed admirably. We don't have the squad depth to seriously compete at league level yet and although we won our first game of European football, 3 losses from 4 game shows us exactly how far we have to go before we can start to be taken seriously. Overall we finished 7th, with the extra matches taking it's toll on the thin squad. The beauty of the Croatian league is that apart from Dinamo Zagreb (who have won every title in the save) every other team have good and bad days meaning that there are usually places up for grabs from 3rd-8th with a month to go in the season. It keeps it interesting all the way through the year. No European football next year means hopefully we can focus on the league and get ourselves back into the top 5. Europe Our first taste of European football and it couldn't have started any better. A 5-2 drubbing of FC Noah meant we were almost guaranteed of going through to the next round. We then lost the return leg 1-0 but were through on aggregate. The Third Round Qualifying saw us lose both legs to FC Honka to be knocked out of the competition. A decent first look, but not the huge money earner we were hoping for. Awards Karlo Igor Majic won our Player of the year award with an average rating of 7.02 Adel Galonja 02A won our leading goalscorer award with 12 Mario Grlic 01A won our Young Player of the Year award with an average rating of 6.95 across 24 appearances Youth Intake A very promising looking Intake with 4 elite talents. Some good personalities too means hopefully 1 or 2 of them can develop and become stars Upgrades The club's Youth Facilities were upgraded I completed my National A and Continental C Coaching Badges I signed a new contract worth $1,600 per week until 2030 Transfers
  5. Season Review 2026/27 (Season 3) NK Kustošija Zagreb Supersport HNL (Tier 1) League Predicted to finish 9th and avoid relegation, we managed to do so much more. After a shaky start to the year where we hadn't wont a game in the first 10, we found our groove in the middle part of the year and put together a run that saw us fly up the table and be as high as third at one point. Unfortunately our lack of depth and lack of class saw us fall away towards the end of the season, finishing in 5th position. Due to the league improving it's reputation, this meant we had qualified for the Europa Conference League which is exciting. Hopefully from this we can make a little bit of money to finance some upgrades. Awards Ivan Mihaljevic won our Player of the year award with an average rating of 7.11 Karlo Igor Majic won our leading goalscorer award with 17 Mario Grlic 01A won our Young Player of the Year award with an average rating of 7.03 across 18 appearances Youth Intake Our intake this season was pretty good. Not as spectacular as last season but 2 young decent goalkeepers should hopefully mean we are set there for a long time if either of them develops how they should. Upgrades We managed to get another Youth Recruitment upgrade. This moves our youth recruitment to Exceptional now alongside Excellent academy coaching I started my National Coaching B Licence this year Transfers
  6. Season Review 2025/26 (Season 2) NK Kustošija Zagreb Supersport HNL (Tier 1) League The board objective was for us to fight bravely against relegation. I was slightly more optimistic that we could survive, owing mainly to the fact that it was only 1 team that got relegated. hopefully we could muster enough points to survive. We got promoted earlier than we were probably ready for. The season went right down to the wire as we battled Istra 1961 for 9th position and survival. With 3 games to go, we were level on points and due to them having the better head to head record against us, we were last. We needed a mini miracle and we got one of sorts. 3 wins on the bounce to finish the season, coupled with Istra 1961 losing all 3 of their matches meant we had done it. We survived our first season in the top flight. Awards Ivan Mihaljevic was named the player of the season with an average rating of 7.07 Patrick Bosnjak was named young player of the season Karlo Igor Majic was our leading goal scorer with 19 league goals Youth Intake Wow wow wow wow wow. The preview was promising but when the intake arrive, i couldnt contain my excitement. A ready made replacement for Karlo Igor Majic was there and waiting. Adel Galonja 2A. Apart from the unambitious personality, he looks to be a star for us from the get go. Nevin Brlek 02B and Goran Hojski 02C might turrn out to be serviceable players as well. Upgrades No facility upgrades this season but I was offered a new contract which expires in 2028 Plans for next season Survive again. Hopefully we can start to blood a couple of the youth players from the first intake we got to sure up a few areas that need some depth. If we can survive next season, I am very confident we will be able to stay in the top division for good with some of the youth players we have got coming through already. Mario Grlic 01A was our first academy product to make his first team debut at just 16 years of age. Transfers
  7. Season Review 2024/25 (Season 1) NK Kustošija Zagreb Supersport Prva NL (Tier 2) League I was not ready for this message to pop up before my first game. I did not read the rules properly for Croatia before starting. Oops What a season! Promoted as Champions at the first time of asking. I'm shocked. I knew we had a decent squad but to have the season we did has blown me away. We got off to a flyer and never looked back. I'm not sure if we have the quality to stay up next season but we're ready to have a crack. Awards Patrick Bosnjak was our player of the year with a 7.21 rating and 4 MOTM awards. The young fullback was a dominant force in defensive with the ability to get forward and put in some great crosses for the forwards to pounce on. Karlo Igor Majic was our top scorer with 22 goals 5 Players were named in the Team of the Season I was named Manager of the Year Youth Intake A very promising first intake Upgrades We managed to get an upgrade to our Youth Recruitment Plans for next season Survive by any means necessary. Hopefully we can keep the majority of the squad together next season and we have enough quality to avoid the drop. It's going to be a tough year, but with enough core pieces in the initial squad we might have a chance. Transfers
  8. I'm a glutton for punishment. After getting the sack at Trapani Calcio, I have decided to have another crack at this challenge. This time, I'm heading to Croatia to take control of NK Kustošija Zagreb. Founded in 1929, the clubs home colours are red and black. Club Info Facilities Starting out with above average youth recruitment will hopefully give us a boost in the early seasons to start the influx of good youth prospects. Apart from that, it's all pretty standard. Our new manager The Squad To me, this looks like a very strong squad and one that should be finishing in the top half from year 1. 2 Strong Central Defenders plus a Prospect A decent GK and a prospect Some good midfield and attacking options and plenty of potential amongst the squad. I'm quite excited to get stuck in here. Key Players Our best defender. At 195cm tall and 91kgs Filip is a beast for our division. At only 25 I have big expectations here. Another Filip, this one i expect to be a creative wizard. With outstanding physicals for the division and plenty of upside, I am hopeful of seeing plenty of assists here. Gerald Diyoke will hopefully fill the role of midfield general. Balanced across all attributes, hopefully he can influence games and let our creative players do their thing Ivan Mihaljevic is a man mountain. 186cm with great physicals and good finishing. I'm not sure if he'll be an attacking mid of a striker yet, but another exciting prospect who should be able to deliver straight away. Karlo Ior Majic will get first crack as our number 1 striker. I'm very happy to have a decent striker who isn't abut to retire. Preseason Prediction 8th Place. I'll be disappointed if we finish in 8th place with the squad we have.
  9. Season Review 2028/29 (Season 5) Trapani Calcio Sacked. It's all over. My first attempt at the Youth Academy Challenge was a fail. No promotions. No good youth intakes. 2 coaching badges in 5 years. We were predicted to finish 16th and after 20 of 38 matches, we found ourselves in 18th place, 6 points from safety and 12 points safe from automatic relegation. Ultimately the board decided to make a move whilst they could still salvage the season and that was that. I was gone. My first attempt at this was a lot of fun and I learnt lots about how the game works and what to focus on. I already have an idea of my next save and can't wait to put into practice what i've learnt from this.
  10. Season Review 2027/28 (Season 4) Trapani Calcio League We were predicted to finish in 15th position in our 4th season of the challenge. Another year of training into the younger players would hopefully leave us in a decent position and a chance to push for the promotion playoffs. Unfortunately, our season never really got going at any point. We lacked consistency and lacked the class that many other teams in the division have. We finished the season in 12th place, which was comfortably above the relegation zone. It however is cause for concern as we appear to be trending in the wrong direction. Youth Intake Yet again another poor intake with no one here having the ability or potential to challenge for first team opportunities now, or in the near future. Upgrades No upgrades to speak of and no coaching badges. Our training facilities were downgraded this year which adds to our woes Key Points We were offered and accepted a new 2 year contract after turning down an approach from local rivals Catania. Transfers
  11. Season Review 2026/27 (Season 3) Trapani Calcio League Year 3 of this challenge and we had a different looing side for the season ahead. Predicted to finish 17th by the experts and the first half of the season looked absolutely spot on. We struggled for form, struggled to score goals and kept losing morale at the worst times. The winter break enabled us to schedule a few friendlies against some much weaker opposition to get our mojo back and that worked for a little bit before it was back to more of the same. A tactical tweak late in the year brought about a change in our fortunes as we came storming to home to finish in 11th, 1 place outside of the promotion playoffs. Youth Intake Another poor preview and another poor intake. This makes the challenge very difficult as all our best players are aging and there is nothing coming through Upgrades No upgrades or coaching bagdes were approved this season Key Points I reached 100 games in management Transfers
  12. Season Review 2025/26 (Season 2) Trapani Calcio League The season preview had us predicted to finish 19th and to battle for survival. The board had demanded that we avoided relegation at all costs. Considering we had finished 7th in the previous season, I was very confident that we would survive another year in the division and hopefully push for a playoff spot. The loss of Andrea Cocco would be big, but how big? We didn't end up missing him much at all as we spent much of the season around mid table and comfortably safe for another year. A fantastic last two months saw us climb up the table finishing in a remarkable 4th spot. Agostino Mascari was the surpise player of the year, banging in 21 goals for us after starting the year as the backup striker. Unfortunately he was injured for the playoffs. However, like last season, we were defeated in the first playoff match we played. Losing 2-0 to Pescara was a tough pill to swallow after such a fantastic season. It was probably our best chance at promotion due to the aging nature of the squad and the lack of youth products coming through the academy. Youth Intake The youth intake again was poor with nothing much to write about here Upgrades No upgrades and no coaching badges were approved by the board this season. I did get a new contract though. Key Points After the successful year that we had, I was appointed Manager of the Year Our 38 Year old DL Sergio Sabatino decided to retire at the end of the year. A mainstay in our team and someone who we struggled to replace when he did not play. With nothing coming through, we may have to change tactics next season. Transfers
  13. Season Review 2024/25 (Season 1) Trapani Calcio League The expectation for the first season was simply to avoid relegation. We got off to a fast start, mainly thanks to the attacking prowess of veteran striker Andrea Cocco and attacking midfielder Federico Marigosu. We found ourselves as high as 4th place at one stage in the early going. Injuries and a lack of quality eventually saw us slide down the table before a late charge saw us jump into 7th place and clinch a playoff spot. We faced Avellino 1912 in the playoff, succumbing to a 2-1 defeat. All in all, the first season was a very successful season with no danger of relegation. Marigosu was named our player of the season. Youth Intake The preview was for an average intake, and that is exactly what is was. We picked up a few players that may be able to help us down the road, but nobody who could provide assistance in the next season or two unfortunately. Upgrades Most of my requests for improvements were denied. I was able to complete my first coaching badge at least. Key Points Tragically our veteran striker and the main reason for our incredibe first season in Serie C, Andrea Cocco has announced his retirement. There isnt a lot of depth at striker and the youth intake hasnt given us an immediate replacement. Hopefully Samake or Gagliardi can make the step up next season and keep the challenge going Andrea Cocco Transfers
  14. I've decided to dive into Italian football to start this challenge. I know Serie C can be a nightmare to get out of but this should be fun. Here we go.
  15. Thanks for the tips everyone. Can't wait to get started
