That would sound realistic, however you should also consider other factors such as they could find a job in the city and play as an amateur for a local club. Even in the Estonian lower leagues there are many foreigners who move from abroad and play amateur football while working at another job in the nation, either for a single season or for multiple seasons. The other factors that should be included are the city size and nation affluence, not just distance.

i thought about that. and it would be interesting having players leave your club because they got a job farther away or players randomly showing up to your amateur club asking for a trial but that would add more complexity which, thought it would be welcomed, might better be treated as a separate idea to consider and maybe implement

Football manager should introduce the city of residence concept to the game. Meaning amateur players and non-players who do not have a contract with a club will move between cities in the same nation or even to a foreign nation for job purposes to find a non-football job. That way you can sign amateur players for clubs in the same city or region.

i don't think you need to add a different field. clubs already have cities attached to them and those cities have coordinates. you can just use the player's current or previous club's location and only accept offers from clubs based within a specific geographic distance to that.

  2. distance between current team (or previous team) and approaching team should be the most important factor that influences if amateur or semi-pro players accept a transfer offer. I can't imagine many people that would move from Manchester to Luton just to play for another amateur team, not to mention moving country. At this level 99% of players should consider only teams from the same town or nearby.

  3. similar to past results between my team and the opposing one, it would be fun to be able to see the past results between me and the current opposing team manager. or even just between me and the opposing team would be fun for journeyman saves

  4. this would be fun for journeyman careers. manager records similar to team records. biggest win, most goals in a game, longest undefeated run, stuff like that. you might even make press interaction around these items.

"you have just broken the team's record for biggest win, was this the biggest in your career?"

"nah, when i was managing in the croatian 4th division we managed a bigger one"

I have had some success with this and managed to make a version that has a PL all-star team V another selected team, I am currently making the Isle of Scilly League, they have an XI team playing a mainland team in the UK for this trophy below, however even with the same settings used for the PL allstars, the players in the League are not selected, and it uses greyed out randoms, any thoughts, the cup is at the start of the season, do i need to add some average ratings for the previous year.

    lyonesse cup a4 scaled

have you created the all start team yourself or have you just renamed an existing extinct all star team? you should just rename an existing one from south korea or china or australia or somewhere else.

Try adding Ranking Levels maybe? Looks like it "eliminates" all the teams after the Seventh Round, with the winner being given Ranking level 0 (ie. competition winner). With Ranking Levels setup it should recognise that the competition isn't over for them and they have separate highest/lowest Ranking Levels available still.

i've never used ranking levels before. what would i need to add to make it work?

Hi guys, I'm trying to create a United Kingdom league with teams from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland all in the same league system.

I have used England as the nation and renamed the leagues. However, the Leagues revert to their original names in game, which is annoying....anyone know the reason for this?

It even happens when i use my editor file as the only active one in the game set up page.

    Any help would be appreciated,

do you have a real name fix? you will need to edit that file and change the league names within it

Never got that far. Maybe log it as a bug in the bug forum , pre-editor section . I've been logging it since 2017 but gave up .

i've raised bugs related to the in game editor. i think they get ignored unless they affect the game itself

What if you give those teams a secondary division and use that? Is there any way to use "ignore teams" in the list of teams and set to get last winner of the comp?

i tried it but didn't manage to get it working like that.
