As I said before in your other post is that the All Star section is broken . You can't fix it . I'm surprised its still even in the editor and doubt it will be for FM25 as in reality not many countries even do it anymore .

I've even gone to the extent of looking in the Comp Editor and it doesn't work .

SI are not interested in fixing it after years if myself logging it as a bug .

Politely I would move on as I did :)

check the other topic oJMPx found the solution for the ai generated players and i've been able to replicate it. if you want all star games that look at all the teams from a competition to select players, it should work fine. i've set up a national vs foreigners game, oJMPx has set up several all star vs foreign team games and i'm sure the are other situations that can be created.

the problem i'm running into, and honestly it's not only here that i've bashed my head against it, is how the game selects teams based on region. i chewed my fingernails off when i tried to make lower league regional cups until someone mentioned that the game selects participants based on their stadiums for some reason. now, i've encountered an issue with regional all star games. in the us it's simple since they have regional top divisions already set up, but if you have one series and try to make it select teams based on their local region or regional division, it does not work properly. AGAIN, it selects real players, it's just that it doesn't correctly follow the regional rules as i set them. so you would end up with 90% players from one region and 10% from another...

  2. I am making a competition that is supposed to select players from specific regions. it's an all star game but i'm not sure if that matters.

for it i need to select from which teams should the players be selected. i've tried two options so far: "get best local region teams" and "get best teams from division" where i selected an appropriate "has regional division" option.

in both cases most players are selected correctly but there are some outliers that end up playing in the wrong team.

has anyone encountered this or have any idea of what other option i might try?

  3. so, quick update.

i have managed to set up an all star game between locals and foreigners. seems to work fine though i think i might need to see what happens when players have dual nationality

i have not been able to set up an all star game between the last year's champions and an all star team. i just can't figure out how to get the all star team to not select players from last year's champions. players selected like that were unavailable for both teams

i'm trying to set up a regional tournament of 4 all star teams but, so far, i'm encountering a strange issue. if i use "best local region teams" to define the player pool, it seems to work fine with 2 teams but, as soon as i set up the third all star team, the rules start to be ignored and i see players selected from the wrong regions. i'm gonna try and see if i can use another option to get this to work

latest version (in the 4 team tournament 2 teams are still the copies, i have not moved all star teams from other countries):

Oh ok never seen that before ?

it's a fun idea that i would have liked to have seen adopted here in europe. but the us changed to be more competitive in the national games when it comes to penalties.

i'd like to try it in fm if it would be possible

  5. so, i've done some testing and yes, reusing existing all star teams seems to be the solution. though i'm still having plenty of trouble with it.

i tried a game between last year's champions and an all star team and i can't find a way for the all star team not to select players from the champions too. another issue i encountered was that players out on loan abroad, also seem to be selected.

i also tried a tournament between 4 regional all star teams but, regardless of the options i tried to set for the teams to get their players from, only one out of 4 teams actually uses real players and the ones it uses have nothing in common with the filters i set for it. (i've tried to test it by setting it to pull players from some lower divisions only but it uses first league players)

i'm adding the db i am using

  6. I've already gone through them to make sure they have a local region and a regional division. adding a stadium for them would be... i'd rather have the first season with just 2 teams in the cup rather than go through that...

I'll need to check the registered teams option. if i can add them in bulk, it might work...

  7. So, I am having issues creating lower division regional cups. The problem comes from how the teams are selected.

My idea is to have the bottom 3 divisions participate in 3 different cups split by regions. But the game is not drawing the teams correctly regardless of what rules I try to set up.

Before the update they did I could use "Get best teams from division" for the divisions I want and then adding the regional division I want in the rule details.

This doesn't work anymore. The editor compiles it fine but no teams are selected in that cup anymore.

I have also tried using "Get all teams from division" and within the rule, add to the team pool all the local regions that I want participating in the cup.

For some reason this only pulls a low number of teams in two of the 3 cups. One cup gets only 18 teams and the other something like 30 when they should both have hundreds. Way to few to be issue with former extinct teams not being considered. The third one gets a lot more though i have not checked to see if it pulls all that it should.

I have also tried going the other way. Selecting the "Best out of local region" option and then putting in the team pool for the rule "Get all out of division" but in this case, it ignores the team pool rules and pulls teams from other divisions too.

Right now I'm simulating the version where it pulls too few teams in the hopes that it corrects itself starting with the second season...

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? Or the time to look at the attached file to see if you can figure out the problem?

  8. So, I have a cup where, after 6 knock-out rounds, the teams get split into several groups. The top teams are supposed to qualify for the quarter finals. this used to work fine but, after one of the updates from sigames, there are no teams that end up in the quarter finals after the groups are over.

i've checked that stage 2 (quarter finals and up) waits for stage 1 (group stage) to finish

i've checked that the dates are set and there is no overlap

i've tried different ways to specify in stage 2 which teams need to qualify.

i'm, stumped. could anyone else have a look and see if you figure out what i'm doing wrong?
