Just thought of another thing does anyone know if these tactics work in the lower leagues?
Works like a charm:)

I think the perfect combination (on this whole site) is Home Tactic = Piranha6. Away Tactic = Makele Tweak
I think that the original Makelele can be a bit too offensive away sometimes........
So i use makelele home, and a tweaked version away.

Is there a definative version of this?
I mean i have used Makeleles tactic and had some very good success with it totally dominated teams and didnt play as a big team. But there seems to be a few versions of things on this post.
Do people use only one tactic home and away? or they alternate between Piranha and Eagle? What version of Eagle do people use as there seems to be 3 versions of it, the orgianl, red hot wax and the crystal palace version. There is also meatloafsters version and sleepydudes version of the tactics so there are plenty of variations.
So back to my original question what version are people using? im tempted to start with the orginal piranha as im not gonna play as a massive team (a new game as i just got the brilliant update) and use eagle away just not sure of what version of eagle to use lol
EDIT just read there is another version of makeleles version lol by mokiman!!
It is not an extra version, it is the MAKELELE tactic version. I have just made som slightly modification that have given been sucsess with every team that i have tried it with
Lecce in italy
Rosenborg in norway
Accrington in england.
Ivory Coast and Turkey.

ok thank's moki and when away im' slightly underdogs i reduce by 16 or 10??
just go with your gut, and perhaps start low and go high on the D-line. If you have som dought, just set the D-line at 10-11.
My experience is that i often have good luck with setting the D-line at 10-11 when im facing teams away. When im slightly underdogs that is.

hi mokiman i reduce the defensive line to 16 in home and tick counter??? and away to 10-11??
Yeah, thats about it. You will loose some and win some. But when your tema is gelled you will experience good results compared to the ambition.
The talle striker is on the right.

Hi Guys,
Currently using Tyler_bode PIRANHA tactics and having great fun with it. Won the CL and EPL in 2010/11 with this team at Portsmouth.
GK: Beneglio / Diego Alves
DL: Joe Mattock
DR: Glen Johnson
DC: Distinn© / Howedes
DC: Samba
ML: Buonette / Fleck (legend - won the EPL in last game of season)
MR: Valencia/Freddy Adu
MC: Collision(vc) / Kacar
MC: Dzagoev / Diego
FC: Liedson / Obertan
FC: Sanchez (LEGEND!!!)
However wanted a new challenge and quit due to Stadium Expansion (Ultimatum - meaning I kept my Icon status).
I'm now in 2013/14 with Leicester. I got promoted in 2011/12 but only just managed to stay in the EPL in 2012/13. This is my team in 2013/14 (I've marked new players with *), I was hoping to challenge for mid table/Europe this season.
******* Question - can you advise a couple more new players in 2013/14 for a lower table EPL team? Only two, because I don't want to change the team too much.
GK: Remy Riou / Begovic
DL: Sirl*
DR: Spector / Stiensson*
DC: Beevers (Unh - wants to move to West Ham)
DC: Simunek*
ML: Andrew Driver ©
MR: Knightly / Clement Grenier
MC: Dan Gosling* / Gunnarsson (vc)
MC: Albin Ekdal (coming good)
FC: K. Nemeth / Tafer / Leidson* (he returns!)
FC: Martin Fenin / Saviet* (looking a great prospect)
I need some more Legends like the pairing of Leidson & Sanchez up front! And the EPL winnner John Fleck!! Here's what I think I need.
MC
RCM (for Eagle tactic away)
DC (a possible Unh Beevers replacement)
Options: Levan Kenia - Dentinho - Bernardo - Adam Lallana - Joao Paulo - Wijnaldum (old Pompey player)
Long winded. Sorry. Help/tips appreciated. Thanks guys

mokiman can you post a dowlonad link tactic that you used for lecce
No i cant....it is not mine. But you can find it on page 28. It is all makeleles work. And when you have downloaded it, it is a piece of cake to modify it to work both home and away.

Ok, so you use the standard Piranha tactic, turn on counter attack, and reduce d-line by how many positions? What is TW?
no, i use the makelele version.
If im even in odds or slight favourites i reduce it to 16. If im a huge underdog or play against a difficult opponent i reduce it to 10-11
TW= Time Wasting

Hmm, I did try counter attack a couple of times but didn't get anywhere. I didn't try d-line as my defence seemed to be coping fine with balls over the top. My problem seems to be that my players just can't pass to each other.
Well, that is the only thing i do. D-line and counter....and sometimes TW. And i have noe problems away from home.....

Can anyone help me sort out my away form on FM09?? I am playing as Burton Albion in league 2. Using Piranha at home my record is won 10, drawn 4, lost 0. Playing away using Piranha with the mentality and tempo reduced my record is won 1, drawn 1, lost 10. For my last away game I kept reloading it trying different tactics, including eagle and my record was drawn 4, lost 6. It is crazy, how can my team be so good at home and completely inept away!
For me, the key thing is not mentality or tempo. For me away, it is lowering the d-ling and counter attack. At least with the Makelele version of the tactic

Mokiman,
I several questions. I currently play with Sporting CP.
For example if i want to swap midfielders as you said should i tick for both midfielders the swap button or is one enough.
second question: What do you do with the creative freedom of the strikers because on the original tactic they are on the max. And with Leidson and Edu i don't have players with 17+ creativity.
And last question is what to do when the opponent is switching to 4-2-4?
I am looking forward hearing from you
I will try to answer you:
1: One is enough, but i have them both on swapping with each other.
2: I dont do anything with the creative freedom. I leave it like it is, but of course the more creative your striker is the better. I think the important one is how you like to play. I prefer i tall/fast combo. Scores a lot of goals when they find "the rythm".
3: I dont do anything about the 4-2-4. I just change the D-line to 10-11 at the end or when facing very hard opponents.
Thanks for replying as well, Corkey:)

There is no difference in team instructions, it's that play offside is ticked, the center backs are alternating as in one closes down own area one whole pitch and one easy one hard tackling. The passing style of wingers is more short, midfielders exactly the same, and strikers are given more creative freedom and one has free role ticked. Those are the differences between the two tactics, I think Makelele's is more oriented toward good teams while tylerbode's are more versatile because they can work well with any team. With an ideal team I think Makelele's is a bit better from my own experience not sure about others.
I dont agree with you here. With only two major changes i took Lecce to a 3rd place with minimal signings. And i did beat the top teams at home using the original makelele tactic-idea. So i think it can work with any team, with the right players.

Isnt this just the original pirahna 6 tactic?????
I have tried the pirahna tactic, but makelele is a more sucsessfull tactic. At least in my opinion. Not sure of the difference though.

how the hell are you guys winning matches. IVe got a good team , in the championship with tranmere and ive tried full seasons of both the v6 and theh eagle but the results are totally random, ill get hammerd by **** teams and beat good teams. Thre is no logic to it.
I dont use the either of them. The one to use is the makelele version and som slight modifications. Works like a charm for me both in England and Italy and Norway.

Hi, i've had some success with this tactic. I have a question about something thats been bothering me, because we are spoiling waaay too many changes with shots outside the box, and my assistant man. constantly that we are creating lots of changes but only from long range. How can I adjust the settings to try to get more balls to the strikers? I've tried to set the midfielders to few long shots and more trough balls, but with no great success. Any ideas? Do you need to know my players?
I just put the long shots on rarely on all my midfielders. But i dont put through balls on often. I want my midfielders to try long shots some times. In my experience i think you just have to have some games where you have many shots outside target......

mokiman, do you still let wingers swap positions?
No, because i want them to hold the line and make cut-ins. Or Cross to the central. I dont have any sucsess in swapping wingers. But strangely i have sucsess in swapping the two Central Midfielders.

what tweaks?
-untick offside trap
-tick counter attack
-let the strikers switch positions
-let the two central midfielders switch positions.
-D-line down to 15.
Thats it. And for some matches i used the original Makelele tactic. No tweaking during match, unless i got a red card or leading by 1 goal away........

Is that Makelele's version.
yep, but i played almost the entire season with the minor tweaks i have mentioned earlier. And that is because i was underdogs the whole season.....hehe

Wanted a challenge to see what the possibillities was. Lecce is a club who is predicted 18th with a limited budget. And here is the results:
I have to say im pretty happy with the results!
Scored a few and let in a few. But i concentrated on strenghtening the attack and let the defence get stronger next season.

Thanks for the fast reply mokiman. I tend to lower the d-line to 11 and untick offside. Maybe I lower the d-line too much. I'll try your tweak and see how it goes.
Well, it works for me.
Putting the D-line even lower could cause problems in my experience.
And i never change the personal instructions. One of the keys to sucseed is to have the wingers cut in and fullbacks to overlap.

Hi everyone!
First of all I want to congratulate Tylerbode for this magnificent tactic (Piranha v6). However, at the moment, I'm using Makelele's tweaked version. For my experience, I can say that the tactic is absolutely fantastic. Most of the times I dominate the games and score a lot of goals. As I said this happen most of the times. Sometimes, when I play formations like 4-3-3, 4-5-1, 5-3-2 and so on I struggle to get a win. Sometimes I win the game but its because of the quality of my squad. As a rule I get dominated when I play against such formations. I already tried to get more defensive, asking the fullbacks to stay back and not to run with the ball, once most of the chances created by such tactics came from the wings. My question is, anyone else have this problem? And if so, how do you sove it?
Cheers
I do experience something like that when i use makeleles tactict. But i do the following:
-untick offside and tick counter
- d-line 16
thats about it and it usually helps.
