  1. Are you sure the CM is trained at the club? Not all of your youth players will necessarily satisfy that condition, as it usually requires a number of years trained at the club, between 15 and 18, and they may be too young.
  2. Pretty sure the game is always released on the date specified. Not sure it ever happens earlier. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
  3. Ok, I see your point. I have personally never had more than 5 foreign players in the squad, as having a limit of 4 on the pitch but having another 4 on the bench would make it hard for me to manage my matches to be honest. I assume the 4 EU in match squad rule is the way it is because it's more in line with other EU leagues and their rules? Like, they generally aren't limited to a number in the playing 11, but rather limited to a number in the match squad.
  4. I think this is what SI intended, it makes sense (in my opinion) to keep the U21 and U19 rules specific to Serbian players only, rather than to EU nationals.
  5. I believe FM22 they didn't go in the recycle bin either. They used to on previous versions but I don't think they did on FM22. So I imagine it is by design, or it's a setting you can change. Doubt it's a bug. EDIT: just saw that SI staff suggested it may be a bug. I would be curious to know the outcome once the QA team looks at it.
  6. I guess you're looking at it from the point of a team in the premier league, which plays a significant number of fixtures and may easily qualify anyway so their last couple of games may be dead rubbers. I'm thinking about what it means for my favourite team which doesn't play on one of the top leagues, and for which 2 extra games in Europe will be amazing. Not ever would we consider any game in a European competition as not important, even if we've lost every game so far and we're out anyway.
  7. The home team gets to play the second leg at home, which I think is an advantage in itself. And then an extra, key, 30min at home. I'd be interested to know whether there was a noteworthy advantage or disadvantage to playing the second leg at home previously, with respect to who actually goes through. Like, statistically, do teams playing away in the second leg go though more often?
  8. There seems to be some confusion regarding how the fixtures are generated. There is mention of a Swiss system, but that system only determines each next fuxture after all games of the previous round have been played. Which I do not believe is how this will work. I anticipate it will still use coefficients to produce fixtures and each team will play a certain number of games against teams in the top 9, teams in the next 9, and so on.
  9. I am trying hard to find a source from UEFA that confirms my initial post, but I am struggling. I can't find anything which confirms that it will be a pure Swiss system either. I am still of the opinion that it will not be an actual application of the Swiss system, but rather all fixtures will be confirmed at the beginning. Given the agreement between UEFA and SI, I would be very surprised if SI implemented it incorrectly.
  10. I don't mind the concept. It's a bit of a radical change but more games and against more opponents is always a good thing for smaller teams. I tell you one rule change I think is terrible - removal of the away goal rule. I'm still upset about it 😅
  11. Ahh, fair enough. Still, there would be many others who joined their clubs this season only to be sacked around about this time. I hope their histories are handled better than last year.
  12. I agree with this. I thought there was a data lock which would be well before October 24. In other words, we get the world as it was, let's say, at the end of the summer transfer window. Managers who are sacked a third of the way into the season should still be at their clubs at the start of the game. Then they can be removed at the winter update. My other concern here is how this is done. Last year (FM22) there were issues with coaches who were removed in this way by SI had their histories all messed up. Ole was one of them. If you went into his history, it sort of didn't have an end date to his time at Man United. There were many other, lower profile managers who had similar issues. I know it's not game breaking, but it does mess with immersion. I hope that Steven Gerard will at least not have any mention of Aston Villa in his history, as he technically never went there if they remove him at the start of the game.
  13. Yes, but again, it's the way UEFA is implementing it. I suspect it has more to do with scheduling than anything else. Edit: what I am saying is that SI are implementing it correctly, as per the way that UEFA will actually do it.
  14. I believe you will know all opponents at the start. It is not a 'true' Swiss system. So in that sense, it's working as intended.
  15. When did he come to Newcastle? Remember, FM22 will have data from about a year ago. You can select the database after the winter transfer window (22.4) which will have more recent data, but again, it won't have this season's data.
