Finally got a bit of cash to go and buy some nice newgens, but I'll start off with Matthew Skinner who came through a youth intake. Really excited about him, left sided and well rounded mentals, just perhaps an inch or two on the short side. I think he'll be fine for the SPFL, but might struggle a bit in Europe when it comes to it. Leinhart was released by Dortmund so thought I had to take a punt on him. Again, quite well rounded mentally, just need to try and bring those technicals on a bit. He could be a monster as a defensive midfielder, or equally could slot him back in at centre back. Nunez cost a few million from Getafe after they were relegated to La Liga 2. I couldn't see past that finishing and first touch and hoped he would become a good advanced forward. He's shown fits and starts, scoring a hat-trick twice, but hasn't become a regular fixture just yet. He's out on loan at Augsburg to try and bring him on a bit. Oh Eric. £5.5million from Marseille. Record signing. Really, really excited by him and couldn't look past his technique and flair. Will go on to silly wages when he plays twenty matches so a bit bittersweet right enough. My only issue is that finishing attribute, in my save I'm finding that newgen strikers either have 16/17/18 (like Nunez) for finishing or 10 or less. I'm very tempted to batter him into the first team straight away and let him sink or swim in an effort to take his attributes to the next level, but I think he's coming on just fine. If I played with attacking midfielders he'd be in straight away. I'm training him as a Pressing Forward (support) to try and boost those mentals, with an additional focus on shooting to get his finishing improved. Lets see how he is in a season's time. -
Thanks for the prompt response. For whatever reason I’ve been pretty much limiting my search to i7-12 series CPUs, particularly when there is only a £40 price difference in the i5 version of the Acer Nitro linked in the previous post. But is there any value to be had elsewhere with going for an i5 CPU instead of an i7?

Looking to replace my 8-year-old MacBook Pro (Intel chip) but feel I’ve been priced out of the Apple range now… so have unearthed these choices. Will be using for work also, but I tend to play on 2D classic with around 100,000 players loaded, albeit more recently only been loading leagues from the country I’ve been managing in. Any advice on this one at all? https://amzn.eu/d/5FOie2S https://www.costco.co.uk/Computers/Laptops-MacBooks/Acer-Nitro-5-Intel-Core-i7-16GB-RAM-512GB-SSD-NVIDIA-GeForce-RTX-3050-156-Inch-Gaming-Laptop-NHQFJEK007/p/465337

Delighted with how young Scott is developing. Despite a low long shots attribute he has a penchant for banging them in from 25 yards which doesn't do any harm. I am finding though, that the big hammerthrowers of the Scottish Premiership are quite good at shoving him off the ball and battering him around, but in a team with a couple of destroyers alongside him he's doing just fine. -

Compelled to follow along with this Shrew, and I love the philosophy… but I’m an Oviedista, I’m afraid… puto Sporting! -
Am I right in thinking that to start a season in Norway it should be set up to start in Jan 2024? Have never managed in Scandinavia before but have always fancied a save with Tromso or Brann Bergen.

These are the two that I'm putting the most into so far. Wilson scored a rasper on his debut but I'm not sold on his key mentals (positioning, concentration, anticipation) and the 1 for strength irks me a bit, but lets see. Following @Rashidi's advice and training him as BWM(S) to get those attributes up, then I'll work on the technicals. RIssel is a slow burner, scored a few in the lower leagues so I'm excited to see how he develops. -

Need a fun club post winter update
kerrdavidson95 replied to Pablo Sanchez's topic in Good Player & Team Guide
Benfica is fun. 130 players across four squads, a decent mix of quality youngsters, good experienced first teamers and otherwise absolute dross. Plus they have the five star youth recruitment, coaching and training facilities. In the league, Porto keep you honest, but making progress in the Champions League is proving challenging as I’m continuing to integrate young players as the years go on. Can go down the nationalistic management route of only working with your own youth intake, or cast the net wider. -
FM23 South American Players & Hidden Gems

I’ve started a Benfica save as was struggling for a bit of inspiration this year. I do saves with Airdrieonians and Real Oviedo to death each year so time for something different. Will be intrigued to see how you guys’ development with the players pans out, clearly there are some very talented players in the academy but seems there are 130 odd players on the books across A team, B team, U23 and U19. Just need to work out who I’m going to concentrate on. -
Been fortunate to have some good players come through in my saves at Oviedo and Southampton, but really struggling to loan youth players out for first team experience which kind of ruins my method, and even when I add to development list with important player or regular starter selected, my DoF continues to accept “fringe player” or “impact sub” offers.
