Must be so annoying for other Portugal players who know they can give a better go at free kicks, only for the same **** to happen. It is quite utterly selfish too. I said before that it will better for the team/nation when he retires as he holds too much power. That second free kick wear he hit from near the corner flag was pathetic.

Ronaldo has too much player power. Martinez confirmed he would start and used some reason about him not playing one of the pre-season games, but the real reason is Ronaldo is demanding to play. They are group winners, so why not start Ramos at CF who has proven in his limited game time for Portugal he can score goals. I get he is a great but this why I personally think it will be better for the team when he retires.

I got so confused at first. Thought Germany was in white
In fact the Germany kit is wonderful. Love it.

Too late now. Used all three of their stoppages.
Oh, 5 subs have to be used in a specific time?

How comes Albania have not brought on Broja yet??

Openda should have come on earlier. They looked much more threatening and he has been brilliant a in a 2 man partnership this season. Slovakia were brilliant. Lobokta in particular was brilliant. Skrinjar too. KDB was well below par. Belgium look so vulnerable defensively. No surprise there.

Really surprised Openda hasn't been brought on to play with Lukaku...

Lukaku's moaning at his team mates when they don't pass (with his hands out complaining) will never get old

Belgium's kit is wonderful
Their kits in the past have been really dull. This is a thing of beauty.

Man has been fantastic.

I called Lukaku crap last week so this tip could be a good call
Good luck
No matter his critics, his international record is superb. If he stays fit, I think he is stop scorer in group stages.

The Romanian fans are making an incredible racket.
Yeah, I thought the Albanians were loud. Romanians are a whole next level.

Fair enough then, news to me
And Telegraph in fact. I have seen a lot of people asking similar questions. Personally think UEFA should have explained it in detail. They explained the subs well, but not transfers.

Interesting that Zinchenko is at left back, only played there a few times for his country
Think he is only playing there ay Myolenko injured, otherwise would be CM.
Hoping for Mudryk to step up today.

I get people wanted changes but no side is taking off their biggest goal threat, and captain, while only leading 1-0. Not subbing Kane wasn't an issue. Would he have stayed on if it was 2-0? Probably as he probably needed another 90 mins under his belt. Watkins/Toney will get a chance at some stage but last night wasn't the time for it.
I agree but I think if you are going to keep him on, bring players on who can provide counter attackers and provide to him. Kane is not the fastest and there was not much counter attacking threat. I think with the players on yesterday, Watkins could have provided a better counter attacking threat and defensive work too. But keeping Kane on, for me Foden should have come off for someone like Gordon. No counter attacking threat at all.

Not sure why you would think that
Because on the rules it says your permitted two transfers in the matchday. It doesn't make clear from what I see that you cannot use these transfers within the matchday itself. Annoying.

Unless i'm not understanding you, you can bring Mbappe/Ronaldo in for MD2
Yes, correct but I was thinking I could transfer them in for MD1. If I had known I could not, I would of had them both in my team for MD1.

Lukaku to be top scorer is really good. Currently at 13.00. Was 21.00 then 17.00 before tournament started. Did not realise this thread was here otherwise would have posted earlier but on paper, the three games in the group, Belgium have, he will be licking his lips and the odds, even whilst reduced to 13.00 is really good.

I did think the last 20 minutes Watkins would have been a great option for this reason, but then I guess Kane sticks that header in and that's why you keep him on. Tough call to make.
I understand that but also Watkins scored a lot of headers from what I remember last season too so could have easily scored that too. Foden should have defo come off though first imo.

Rules are not clearly explained on the website which is annoying. Especially regarding transfers. It did not make clear that you cannot transfer a player out from MD1 and for eg transfer in MD2. I did not include Mbappe or Ronaldo as I was under impression I could transfer them in after for eg Havertz has finished his game.

I don't get why Southgate brought both Watkins and Toney, if he doesn't plan on using them in games like this. I get Kane has very good hold up play, but Watkins is a brilliant defensive forward. Chases down loose balls, links up well, is strong and would of been a good sub to come on. Gordon for Foden too who imo was poor yesterday. It is almost as Kane has to play 90 mins, regardless. I think this the reason why England will struggle to kill off games.

Messi ignored Perisic handshake there. As good as he is, he can be a little petty sometimes

Southgate: Episode IV - A New Hope

You know when you have these pundits who blurt out nonsense for the sake of it, just bamboozles me. Carragher for instance saying Southgate should stay... why?
Merson stating that Kane must start this game and that game. For instance stating he must start against Holland. and did jack all, all game, and then pundits stating he has to start final when he has been poor.
Southgate is out of his depth. England, with their talent should not be needing ET to beat Slovakia. Penalties to beat Switzerland. The awful performances we see in the group stage. He is out his depth. We should be seeing England doing to teams, what Spain have been doing. As good as Spain have been, not much of that outfield team apart from Rodri get into that England team. The performances have been awful. Picking the same players in the team who keep underperforming. How in the hell do the FA believe he is the man to carry this talented squad forward??
Seems he felt pressured into picking players based on form, without any idea on how to use them. Like I say, this is a dream job for most managers and there are much better options available than Southgate.
