Not sure if this is a "simple" question but I can't make this work:
Higher division
Lower division with 3 regional divisions
Each regional division promotes1 team, and the higher division relegates 3 teams, places 18-20. So far, easy peasy, everything works fine.
But now I also want a 4 team relegation /promotion playoff. The 17rh placed team from the higher division, and the three 2nd place teams from the lower divisions. A 4 team playoff, with the winner going to the top division.
Anyone have a guide or walkthrough?

Hi, I'm thinking about making a champions league style competition for the Americas, potentially going 2 or 3 levels deep to mirror what happens in Europe. This would obviously replace the existing copa liberators etc. So, for example, an Americas Champions League featuring teams from USA, Brazil, Mexico, etc.
What I'm wondering, is it easier to a) build from scratch, or b) copy the uefa competitions and then edit the duplicates? Or even, c) edit the existing South American competitions?
I am not a newb but nor am I particularly competent, but have never tried anything like this.
Thanks

Has anyone made an Americas Champions League style club tournament including South America, North America, the Caribbean, etc? If not, I would love to try making one.

Yep, it's possible. Easiest way to do stuff is to look at an existing competition that does something similar and copy that. eg. the Brazilian Sao Paulo State League (not what you want, but can easily be altered to do what you want)
Basically you want something like this:
That's telling the game that every team in Group 0 (East?) should play every other team in the group twice, home and away. Same for Group 1 (West?) Then it's telling every team in Group 0 to play every team in Group 1 once (randomly drawn between home/away).
You could make it even more unbalanced by inserting something in the No. Teams In Other Group box. eg. if you want them to only play 10 teams from the other group instead of all of them.
Thanks, just what I was looking for!

Hi
I can't figure out how to do sub divisions that play each other, but in an imbalanced way . For example;
East conference, 12 teams, everyone plays a home and home for 22 games each. Additional, everyone plays one game against each of the 12 teams in the western conference for a total of 34 games. Is this possible?

Our most creative attacker from last year, McNeil, was on loan from Man U, and they wouldn't extend. We also lost two important veteran central defenders, two of our top 3.
Danny Grant may fill one of those gaps but we're definitely at least a little bit worse than we were.
Additionally, Welsh league now only gets 3 spots in Europe. I expect Wrexham to be very ambitious, meaning a top 3 spot will be tough to achieve.

Likely starting 11 for the 23-24 season:
GK - Rome, 21 - Spanish, returning starter.
DR - Cameron Norman, 27 - another returning starter
DC - Nikola Marjonivic, 22 - Serbian, signed last year on a free and emerged as a starter
DC - Marqes Muir, 20 - let go by Tottenham, signed by us for free. Seems to be the best of several youngsters.
DL - Mohammed Gadafi, 22 - signed last year mostly for his name, didn't play a lot, but attrition has him looking like the best option here.
MC - Harry Charsley, 26 - returning starter
MC - Aaron Lewis, 25 - converted wingback; set piece specialist; one of our most important players, and a real star last year.
AMR - Tyreke Johnson, 24 - started for Woking the last two seasons, signed on a free.
AMC - Aaron Wildig, 31 - returning starter; 8 goals, 8 assists a year ago
AML - Danny Grant, 24 - started for Harrogate Town in L2 last year, signed on a free.
FC - Will Evans, 26 - returning starter; 19 goals, 6 pom last year

At the beginning of the year I freed up some money by selling our top two goalkeepers. (I had two of identical quality, put them on both on the transfer market thinking I'd maybe get interest in one of them, but, weirdly, Grimsby Town bought both for more than I expected.)
Really only made two important signings, at gk and dc.

Recently started a save playing as Newport County, using the following mods I made myself:
All nations youth rating set to 100. I've done this for several versions, and it doesn't change as much as you would think. You still get a ton of good prospects in the usual countries/academies, but it does make it more likely that you'll get a superstar from, say, Estonia or Indonesia or someplace. I think it's actually more realistic.
Superleague teams all given continental bans. So, for example, in England, Wolves, Brighton and Leicester are in the Champions League, and Brentford is in the Conference League.
PSG, Man City, and Chelsea have had their sugar daddies taken away, and their finances ruined. Neymar has been exiled to a random Qatari team.
Juventus has been relegated to serie B.
The Red Bull teams have all gone bankrupt, and have been removed from the game.
Swansea, Cardiff, Wrexham and Newport County have left the English system and are now part of a 16 team Welsh premier league.
Wales, Scotland and N. Ireland are all in the EU.
All of this is meant to simulate the world (UEFA) striking back at the superleague teams, as well as catering to my own personal bias against English football.

Swansea and Cardiff are, no shock, the top two in the league. Both our losses have been to them; the Swansea match was competitive, the Cardiff one not. Draws have been against Wrexham and The New Saints. We've settled on a balanced 4-2-3-1 asymmetrical.

I've sometimes noticed footedness can impact this.

Thanks for the reply.
"Edited the config file" is not something I'm familiar with, will look into it. Haven't gotten any help from either of those forums yet.

Basically you need the background to be a cut-out, can use Photoshop but other free software like Gimp works too
Thanks, will post there
