Real sat back naturally, but looked dangerous throughout the game, and it's not like they were ever backs against the wall. Didn't think it was boring to watch personally. Certainly good breathing space, but it's not "job done" quite yet. 3 points against Levante next weekend and providing Zaragoza (home to Bilbao) and Sporting (away to Espanyol) lose, they're safe. We've also formed a conspiracy theory that the club won't spend much compared to others and are "saving up" so the next manager has a good pot to play with, once Fergie eventually retires. Defence needs an overhaul and so does the midfield. Has done for some time. Problem is, do United spend big money on a few individuals, or keep looking towards players with potential? Last thread I closed, after it had been derailed so much, it turned into a train wreck of a thread, I got lot's of nice PM abuse from the OP for closing the thread.
