Macedonia Edge Past Ibiza

Wednesday 17th October 2007

The Ibiza, Robert Boyle, manager went into the game against Macedonia with an unchanged team from the team that beat Saudi Arabia 2-0. It was all going so well as Loic Philippens kept up his international form scoring another goal for Ibiza making it 1-0 and Ibiza took that lead into the half time break. The lead was short lived in the scond half however, as Goran Pandev scored less than 10 minutes in to the second half to equalise and then scored again four minutes later to put Macedonia into the lead in the Euro 2008 quallifying match and unfortunately the score stayed the same until the end of the match.

Mallorca pick up their first points of the tournament after a famous victory!

Members and supporters of Mallorca were ecstatic after their countries remarkable 2 - 0 victory over Wales today. Although the scoreline suggests that Mallorca dominated the game it was actually deceptively even, with Wales actually having more chances in the game.

Mallorca came out and attacked early on, winning a few corners and putting pressure on the Welsh defenders. The first goal came after 29 minutes, after Feltinho was brought down just outside the box. Feltinho took the freekick and Curry Man jumped brilliantly to head the ball home. Wales were gutted and instantly put the pressure back on the Mallorcans. The Mallorca defence was playing well though and Wales were unable to get their equaliser.

9 minutes from the end Mallorca had won another corner, which Fuzzy Lightning took. He floated the ball across the box and Ricardo Gonzalez met the ball with his head, he directed it towards the goal and after takes a deflection off Daniel Gabbidon it went in to the back of the net. 2 - 0 to Mallorca! Fans and players were ecstatic after the game, especially Robert Boyle who spoke to the media about his hapiness of the great win.

League Game 9

Ibiza hammer Levante B

Ibiza enjoyed nearly total domination against a very poor Levante B side, who are bottom of the league. Ibiza won the game easily and pretty much had the 3 points sealed by half time. Ibiza had many chances and in reality they could and should have won by a much greater margin than they did.

Rick Adicel scored the first goal after just 5 minutes, when Bobinho found a gap through the Levante B defence with his through pass, which Rick Adicel hit first time, straight through the hands of Levante B keeper and captain, Manolo Reina. The second goal came just 4 minutes later after Bobinho struck a sweet half volley, from just inside the box after making some space for himself. Ibiza were cruising.

Ibiza then sat back on their lead and just passed the ball around Levante B, frustrating them and winding them up. Ibiza went in at half time looking very comfortable and they weren't going to let this lead slip. Manager James Ridley made 2 subs, just to give them a run out and the game continued. Just 7 minutes in to the second half Ibiza got their 3rd goal, as Batman, one of the subs that came on at half time, scored a wonderful free kick, which took a deflection off the wall on the way through.

Ibiza 3 – 0 Levante B

Scorers: Adicel, Bobinho, Batman

Ibiza fail to make chances pay

Ibiza should count themselves highly unlucky to only draw against Orihuela today at Can Misses. Despite controlling the whole game against a less than impressive Orihuela side, Ibiza's players failed to convert their massive superiority into a win.

Orihuela took the lead after 32 minutes, when Ricardo Liscombe put the ball past his own keeper as he couldn't move out of the way of a shot that rebounded off the post before bouncing off Ricardo and rolling over the line. Ibiza hit back immediately though as Harry Barker forced his way past 2 players in to the penalty box, before passing it to Rick Adicel who just had to pass the ball in to the wide open goal.

Orihuela had scored from their 1 and only shot of the game up until now and after 58 minutes they scoed from their second effort of the game, as Benja scored a header from outside the box unbelievably! Ibiza were getting plenty of efforts but weren't able to take them, but finally in the 82nd minute Ben Talbott got free in the penalty area and after receiving a wonderful pass from Rick Adicel he tucked the ball under the Orihuela keeper and scored to make it all level.

Ibiza 2 – 2 Orihuela

Clinical finishing is the difference at Can Misses

Ibiza overcame a resilient Hospitalet side in the Spanish Second Division B3 game at Can Misses this afternoon. The match itself was very even, but Ibiza had the cutting edge in front of goal that proved critical for them at the end of the day.

Loic Philippens had a very good game for Ibiza today as his 2 goals helped them get another 3 points as they push for a playoff place. Loic scored an early goal after just 2 minutes, when Arthur White played a nice pass to him which he just placed in to the bottom right hand side of the goal. His second goal came in the 4th minute of stoppage time as Loic met Gwilym J. James' cross with his head and he headed in his second goal of the game.

Brenden Petersen and Brucie Bonus also had good games in defence and in goal as they helped Ibiza to another clean sheet, as they maintain their position as the 2nd best defence in the league, keeping 6 clean sheets and conceding just 8 goals in their 12 games so far.

Ibiza 2 – 0 Hospitalet

Mallorca Beat Alicante In Unconvincing Display

Sunday 21st October 2007

Alicante completely outplayed Mallorca in this game and Mallorca were lucky to go into halftime drawing 0-0. 5 minutes into the second half Mallorca scored completely against the run of play when Fuzzy Lightening ran down the left wing and crossed a brilliant ball in for Robert Boyle to power a head in to take the lead for Mallorca. The game ended with a 1-0 win for Mallorca and you know what they say, even when you don't play well, the best teams win anyway.

Mallorca Stroll To Victory

Sunday 28th October 2007

It was now Sabadell's turn to visit Mallorca and Mallorca were heavy favourites and they didn't dissapoint. They only had to wait 13 minutes till they took the lead when Robert Boyle continued his scoring streak notching another goal to put Mallorca 1-0 up. Mallorca then lost their goalscorer Robert Boyle to injury in the 37th minute making way for Ricardo Gonzalez. So with Steven Buchan taking the captains armband Mallorca went into the break 1-0. Halfway through the second half Ricardo Gonzalez scored Mallorcas second goal of the game spinning past his marker and hitting a well placed shot past the Sabadell keeper from outside the area.

So Mallorca fans will be pleased with the win but they will be very dissapointed that star player and captain, Robert Boyle, has damaged his achilles tendon meaning he will be out for two to three months.

Mallorca Comfortably Beat Orihuela

Sunday 4th November 2007

Mallorca got off to the perfect start in their game against Orihuela where in the eighth minute Benja tripped Haowan in the penalty area and The Man slotted it away to give Mallorca the lead. It was then rather quiet up until half time. Mallorca did not have to wait for long before they doubled their lead when Haowan turned in the rebound off Feltinho's free kick.

League Game 12

Ibiza lose out

Ibiza expected an easy win in their match today against Terrassa, but it was the complete opposite of that. It did not not go to plan for Ibiza at all as they were largely outplayed by their opponents in some stages of the game and they completely deserved their narrow victory over Ibiza.

Despite losing, Ibiza had a magnificent start. They were 2 - 0 up within half an hour with a goal from Johnny Five, with a wonderful freekick from 35 yards out, striking the post on the way in to the goal, and a goal from Arthur White 4 minutes later as he slotted the ball nicely past the Terrassa keeper.

6 minutes later though Terrassa struck back with their first goal of the game as their striker Julio broke through the offside trap and drove the ball in to the goal. Their second goal came in the 2nd half, in the 67th minute as their other striker Tito dribbled past 3 players before scoring.

2 minutes on, Terrassa had a chance to get another goal, but Ramirez failed to convert the penalty he had been awarded. 9 minutes later though he made up for the miss as he scored a very nice goal from a tight angle passed the Ibiza keeper, Brucie Bonus.

Ibiza 2 – 3 Terrassa

Ibiza Lose To Russia

Wednesday 21st November 2007

For some reason it didn't bring me back off holiday for this game so I missed it. We were completely outclassed in the 2-0 loss to Russia where we had 6 shots to their 24. We survived until the 35th minute until Alexandr Kerzhakov scored and we were thinking that we were fortunate to only lose 1-0 but Andrey Arshavin scored to make it 2-0. So that is the end of the qualifying groups for Euro 08 where we finished 6th in Group E coming above Estonia. So now we will have to build towards the world cup in South Africa.

Euro 2008 Qualifier

Quality of possession more important than Quantity of possession!

Mallorca today recorded their second win in a row for the first time in the nations history! Media pundits are claiming a triumph of tactics for the Mallorca manager, James Ridley, after his players defeated much stronger opponents Slovakia. Despite not enjoying as much of the ball as their opponents, Mallorca finished the game as comfortable winners!

Slovakia took the lead in the 6th minute and Mallorca fans were hoping that this would not turn in to an easy game for the Slovaks. Mallorcan players head's did not drop though and they got back in to the game in the 17th minute with a fabulously crafted strike from Mallorca striker Ricardo Gonzalez. The game was slowing down now and was getting a bit boring. Both sets of fans were getting restless and were getting unpatient. Then Jason Demiro got the ball from 25 yards out. He thought 'why not?' and smashed the ball goalwards. The keeper dived but could not stop the ball from going past him.Mallorca were leading a game for just the second time this season!

Slovakia got the action underway again and changed to a more attacking style of play. This attacking style did not help them though, as their defence were leaving massive gaps for the Mallorca players to just run in to. It was Ricardo Gonzalez who used this to his advantage, as he timed his run perfectly and netted his second goal of the game. Mallorca had the game wrapped up now.

Mallorca 3 - 1 Slovakia

Goalscorers: Gonzlez (2), Demiro

Man of the Match: Gonzalez
