Mr U Rosler
Been working today but 4 games into testing the 'HOME' tactic and its looking good. Demba Ba got 4 goals in BOTH games! 16 goals in 4 games and we're only halfway fluid Will get thru a lot of games tomorrow hopefully.
MTM1977
Looks really promising I have been having good success with Frigg on Norwegian First division, using Rainmaker at home when favorite and S&S on all other matches. Season is nearing end and we are currently first, leading by two points. 14 wins, 4 draws and two losses. It seems that the new tactics will be even better, so can't wait to get to try them:)

griff24
Holy sugar that 'Home' tactic looks immense! Just started using s&S and it's looking solid as hell. Think I'll do the same as said about Rainmaker when home and favourite and S&S any other time! Keep it up good sir!

Mr U Rosler
Hi Mr U Rosler.Have you created a tactic which utilizes wingers? Nope, but the full backs do a pretty good job of impersonating them at times.
Lambie\'s Lovechild
Attacking Set Pieces. Found that my right back was my best set piece taker, and thus if the free kick was wide and cleared upfield into space, there was nobody to cover. Moved the left back to "Stay Back" from set pieces to counter this. Beyond that, attacking free kicks are excellent.

Finknottle
Mr Rosler. Just a thought. How would this work out? 1. Rainmaker, at home. 2. Silk & Steel, 14.2, away and 3. Dreadnought to be implemented when in need of a goal/s in place of the 'overload' option?

Pipoli
So, as announced before, I started a game in Serie C2 (4th tier) in Italy, with Rimini (media prediction 9th). Weirdly, there are 8 direct promotion spots. It seems that in the first season, there is a Serie C1/A and a C1/B. However, in the second season, there is a new C1/C. That is why almost half the C2 gains promotion in the first season. Not too challenging, I know. I used S&S14.2 (WITHOUT RETAIN POSSESSION) every sinlgle game. Rainmaker was trained in the background, but never used. When needed to hold a 1-0 lead, I added 'retain possession' and 'much lower tempo', to waste some time in the last 10min. I either released or mutually terminated almost everyone in the club and invested in as good as a staff as I could, and built the squad from scratch during pre-season. There is a lot of free agent talent in Italy for this level, I noticed. I didn't even come near to blowing the assigned budget. Now, the amazing results: https://www.dropbox.com/s/o10lcyuicta5i8w/rimini01.png Champion, with 26 points ahead of 2nd place. Rimini starts the league with (-1pt). Last defeat was on Dec 22nd, which led to an 18 match unbeaten run. Also won the C2 SuperCup, with a 7-2 aggregate result. So, 20 redless fixtures (so far ). Now, the stats for the players: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hhresffm540shif/rimini05.png - F9 as STCR and CF as STCL - The assist monster is a DLP by nature, but I played him as a B2B anyway and spent the season individually training for the B2B role. - F9 is a retrained AML, which worked very well. Skilled lefty playing on the right-side of the attack. - A lot of balance and even distribution for goals/assists - I watched all types of goals: corners, through balls, one-twos, long shots, crossing/headers, amazing runs from midfield by the CF, etc. There was no bias toward a specific type of goal. Other stats: - 21 goals from corners (1st) - 8 conceded from corners (11th) - top scorer, top assister in the league Other comments: - I needed to have 4 DR and 4 DL ready to play all the time. These guys get injured a lot with this tactic. As they hold up ball a lot, try dribbling a lot, they suffer with the bad and violent marking of the lower levels. - I will try to always have a 'native' DLP playing as one of the B2Bs. This seemed to be key. Overall, I'm convinced this tactic is great for the lower levels and there was no signed of cracked tactic (you know I'm a believer ). Let's see how it goes in Serie C1 (media prediction 11th).
Finknottle
Mr Rosler another thought. I am thinking of a new save as Southport. They ere predicted to finish 24th in the Skrill Premier. MTM1977
Mr Rosler another thought. I am thinking of a new save as Southport. They ere predicted to finish 24th in the Skrill Premier. They are also a part time outfit. What would be the best order of tactics for 'home' and 'away' matches, please? When i started with Frigg in Norwegian Second Division, i played the whole season with S&S. After winning promotion to First Division, i was able to get some better players and started to use Rainmaker in home matches where i was clear favorite. In other matches i still used S&S. Now i am starting my third season with Frigg, this time in Premier Division. The squad is stronger than last season, but so is the opposition, so i will probably start with same strategy than i used in First Division and see how it goes. So, maybe you could try S&S in most matches and switch to Rainmaker/Dreadnought if you really need to score at later stages of match?

Mr U Rosler
Taking a new approach. Possession, Probing, Patient at home. High tempo, counter attacking away. MTM1977
Mr U Rosler's tactics can do wonders to club reputation also When i started with Frigg (July 2013), it was one of the lowest reputation clubs in Norway with 1 star rep and playing in second division. Now it is February 2016 and reputation looks like this:

MTM1977
Yeah, a cup win, improved training facilities as well as high league finishes + promotions all help. Have only won second division and first division so far. First training facility improvement is currently ongoing. About time too, the current is only 1,5 stars (below average). Also building new stadium, but it will still take time, completion in January 2018. edit: Finally i was able to sign a central defender who should do well in cover duty. At least i think so. This far that position was one of the key pieces missing in my roster.

Jorgenism
After great success with this set playing with Liverpool and Vålerenga, i took over Juventus and implemented the same angle. It's very strange but i seem to completely dominate every game, highly outdoing the opposition in both possession and number of chances, but i just can't seem to score, but let them score on almost every chance. I have a midfield oof Pogba, marchisio and vidal and Llorente and Tevez up front, as well as mignolet in goal, but it seems that every game ends a draw or just a close win, but me winning the chance stats 23-4 or thereabouts. i also seem to be letting in goals towards the end of practically every game, so i have started containing the last ten minutes of every match if I'm in the lead. Aleynasdad
Was getting a little bored with Whitehawk and started into dream mode and thought 'what if I managed the local team that I can see their stadium from my house..... Cigli Belediyespor in the Turkish amateur league group 7 and perhaps if I do well with them Ill land the Brighton job....' so thats what Im doing with the Rainmaker/ S+S/Dreadnought combo. Mr U Rosler
Quick update on what i'm upto. Testing new Home & Away tactics together with Chelsea. Home is possession based with lots of runners from midfield 'breaking the lines' so we get thru parked defences. Away is counter attacking, high tempo catching teams on the break. Early days but encouraging Beat Man U, Man City, Arsenal & Bayern

Mr U Rosler
Any chance you upload away tactic? I intend to use only this home and away as i like good defence.Thank you anyway. That tactic is no longer the away tactic. i decided 8 wins, 9 draws and 2 defeats is not a good enough AWAY return for Chelsea. Too many draws. It is great defensively so was going to include its as a 'hold what we have tactic', i.e your leading by 1 goal with 20 minutes to go, plug this in and consider the game won. The new away tactic is amassing more points, although i could potentially see more defeats, there will be more wins and more points overall. Having said that i'm currently unbeaten with it. dkouv
Just wanted to say - still very much enjoying the tactics on my Pompey save. Won the Premiership + FA cup in my 3rd season in the PL with Silk & Steel. Tried Dreadnought in the 4th season and it was going ok but not as good as S&S (some v good results but some pretty bad ones too, eg lost 5-1 to Man City away). Then switched to Rainmaker which resulted in an amazing run leading to this: Literally over the moon. League table below: I have a cracking squad at the moment, one of the best in the league but not close to Man City or Man Utd who have much much bigger wage budgets. So this is a great achievement for the tactic. Most players want ridiculously high new contracts now though so I'll see if I can maintain this... Anyway, KUTGW! Just like the real-life Uwe at Wigan
PeeDub
Very cool tactic! I was looking for some ideas on running a 4-something-2 that didn't depend on wingers and this is perfect! I am having one problem though. My fullbacks will often run into a dead end at the baseline. Sometimes they have a window to cross, and then they wait, and wait, and get closer to the baseline, and then there are two defenders closing them down and all they can do is play off them for a corner (if I'm lucky). Sometimes there's nothing there to begin with and there's not much of an outlet from the BBM on that side to help them. As a result I'm getting a looooooooot of corners, and only occasional success with them. Granted, I'm newly using the tactic (although I am fluid with it) and my fullbacks aren't perfectly matched with the attributes required, but none of the attributes in question seem to address this particular problem. I'd think maybe decisions to cross earlier, or maybe dribbling to help get out of the situation, or maybe creativity to find another option, but those aren't key, so I imagine you're not having this problem. Is this an attributes thing? Or a match engine thing? Or are you seeing this too and maybe there's an instruction prescription? Maybe early crosses? Any ideas would be helpful. But yes, enjoying the midfield interplay tremendously. Still very much an underdog with my very poor Dresden team starting their first season in the Bundesliga, but very much enjoying things, so thanks! Kuek
wow very nice.. been trying so many tactics but not so effective but this silk and steel is really good...newcastle team on my 1st season has the lowest conceded...lost only twice in the league but not champions due to too many draws =.= ... end up 2nd place 2 points behiund the champions >.< but won FA cup probably rely too much on papiss cisse .. therefore this 2nd season i bought 2 more strikers hoping i can win the league and more trophies
PeeDub
Also, I was curious, since you have basically 5 in attack and 5 in defense and relatively few specialists, why did you not go with a fluid fluidity?
Mr U Rosler
Also, I was curious, since you have basically 5 in attack and 5 in defense and relatively few specialists, why did you not go with a fluid fluidity? When I released this tactic I was playing it very safe. I trust control/balanced for this type of tactic. I thought the new tactic would be very fluid, but I'm getting better results and performances with 'very rigid'. Re the draws, I agree. S&S 14.2 has evolved into a excellent 'holding' tactic. 1 goal up with 20 mins to go? Plug in this tactic, kick back and relax. I have had a great away tactic for a while but have been struggling to get a really dominant home tactic. Then I realised the solution was staring me right in the face. Use the AWAY tactic at home! Been going great. So it looks like the new tactics will be the primary attacking tactic (it counters well against strong teams yet can still get thru weak, 'parked team's). And a very resilient 'holding' tactic to see out results.
burnum
Hey Uwe, after a three-week hiatus I'm back into FM, motivated to continue my old Paderborn save (maybe switching teams some day if the right offer comes in). I completely missed the last 3 weeks of the FM world and just downloaded 14.2.2. Any advice which tactics I should currently use with Paderborn (good but not great squad, expectations: 3rd in Bundesliga)? Last time I checked I used Rainmaker at home and Silk & Steel away. Is that still useful or should I wait on your new tactics?
