But he hasnt said he wants to leave yet. Thats the point. He's merely confirmed that one of the presidential candidates has been in contact with him.

From a netural point of view I would say a striker. Scholes is still good enough and you seem to have a few decent kids coming through.

Martin's on the left. We've almost gone 451 with Ole alone upfront, Richardson playing just ahead of Fletcher and Gibson.

I don't understand why we gave them 2 players (however crap) so we could loan a keeper for a season. I realise we need a keeper as backup but I don't see why we had to give them two players. Even if we had sold them for £10k each thats still £20k more than we got for them in this deal.

I also don't understand why he would want to waste a season of his career on the bench at United. He isn't going to get many games for us this season & surely is only harming his own career?

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">From The Changing Face of the Football Business: Supporters Direct - The Foreword:

Its about [supporter’s] loyalty. That must be respected. It must be repaid. Any football club that forgets does so at its peril.

A healthy club is based on strong links with the local community and a band of loyalty with the fans. So for me the big money signings and the rest will never change the fact that the lifeblood of football is the fans. That is why I welcome the launch of Supporter’s Direct and am pleased to write the forward to this book (AFC Wimbledon). There is no doubt there has been a change in the game. I am not

talking about the commercialism now. I am talking about the fan’s reactions. The rise in supporter activism over the last few years, and in particular the response to fans seeing their clubs floated on the Stock Exchange - the

creation of supporter-shareholder groups who are demanding a say in their clubs. Quite right. Why should the future of their club lie solely in the hands of financial institutions in the City of London?

That voice can play a key role in cementing the bond between club, community and fans that is vital to football as a social, sporting institution...’Football Fans, eh? Bloody Hell’. That passion, that commitment, that devotion. It cannot be bought and it certainly should not be cashed in. It needs to be rewarded, invested in and nurtured through the next generation of supporters. For me that is what Supporters Direct is all about. That is why it is vital it succeeds. It must and I am sure it will. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Guess who!

So, basically exactly what I said, yes? icon_biggrin.gif

Smith won't (and probably shouldn't) be used in midfield again. The Fletcher-imposter (I still don't believe it's really him this season) can be used to cover right-wing and central midfield. Smith as back up for Saha / Rooney is all very well and good, but I think he detracts from our fluid and pacey style of play we've exhibited this season.

I sincerely hope this January we get Rossi back and get one or two midfielders. Or give David Jones a bit of a run out and a chance to prove (against all evidence to the contrary) that he's not a complete waste of space.

Unless of course the length of the loan has been reduced, in which case overall you will still owe less (depending on the terms of the deal) </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

i don't understand it myself. i thought the whole idea of the refinancing was to reduce annual repayments slightly. maybe the article is wrong. almost certain that the overall debt has gone up markedly though.

I WAS JOKING FFS.

And trying to make it about me? Not really? icon_biggrin.gif I must have missed the point where I was prohibited from posting about it because Ryan said it first.

Oh wait, that's because I posted about Ruud first yesterday icon14.gif

Well played on making something out of nothing though.

Carrick and Scholes weren't good enough today mark, Carrick was abysmal, I just don't think he's good enough to dictate games, which he needs to do, esp as Scholes really will be getting on next season. I have more confidence with Fletcher in the tough games tbh. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

while i'm, not carricks biggest fan, and would love hargreaves to come, they've been a good enough partnership for the majority of the season, and giggs simply doesn't cut it as a winger any more. He started the season well, but he's gone right off. He simply doesn't beat a man any more and should be no more than a backup (albeit a good one). </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

yeah I agree, I also like to think Fletcher is going to make it, and I can't see it happening if we sign Hargreaves, unless we sell Carrick. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Fletcher will still get plenty of games in that scenario, as he's more Scholes replacement than Carrick.
