Mr Adam
Needs knee surgery, touch and go for World Cup. Can only be good news for England but an utter shame for the tournament if he's not there or not at his best.
kontermann
No need for an own thread, there is one about players missing the world cup
Jonno-Blood
a) That thread is in the FF (and on the 2nd page, at that) not the WC forum. b) Why can't he open a thread to discuss Suarez missing the WC if he wants? c) This is precisely what's wrong with this place recently, people just want large bloated threads to discuss topics instead of smaller ad-hoc threads. Jonno-Blood
Anyway, on topic and I'm very torn. As an England fan it'd be great if he wasn't there and then as a football fan it'd be a huge miss to not have one of the world's best players there. That said, if he shows up and does something daft then he'll just cover the tournament in controversy, which some might enjoy but personally I'd rather avoid that stuff. Redshift
He might be a doubt for the start of the world cup but could show up later, assuming Uraguay get out of the group.
TalkSport
Hopefully he'll miss the first two games then destroy Italy in the 3rd to help us out.
Razzler
If he needs it he's better off getting it done and starting recovery. If he'll miss even 2 games will be come back and hit the ground running even? Might scupper any transfer plans. Obviously clubs want to make sure he's fully recovered. Odd though, has this been on the cards or they just found something?
Barry Cartman
Even if he isn't fit, he'd still be useful to bring on in the 89th minute to defend set pieces
el sid
Was the injury from a knee high tackle from Gerrard in training?
Coulthard's Jaw
Liverpool will be sweating now because in these situations you often see players trying to play when they are not 100% right, could easily see him do some serious damage to himself. Astafjevs
He'll play. Maybe he'll miss the first game vs. Costa Rica, because they don't really need him to win that, but I'm sure he'll be back for England and Italy.
Baptista_8
No-one seems to have noticed but he's been in awful form for weeks anyway. No doubt Uruguay are stronger with one of the best players in the world, but I wouldn't say I'm fearful of us facing him.

TalkSport
Was it that red card challenge that did it? How much he was falling over in that game wouldn't be surprised he damaged it in one of those falls from a little twist.
